We stayed for 10 days in our beach pool villa ‘ Bitter Suite ‘ overlooking the sea , it was certainly a view to behold each morning ! We had an a Brilliant stay overall . The hotel is beautiful and in a very good location close to beaches , bars and restaurants . It has an intimate feel and is perfect for those looking for a relaxing vacation . We did have a small hiccup involving the worlds loudest air conditioning unit during our stay which we discussed with the front desk several times . I do believe they are replacing this as part of the upcoming refurbishment which is certainly needed but I have to say we were well looked after by Kaew regarding and we certainly didn’t let it spoil our stay . That leads me onto the team at Casa , they are Brilliant !! Mimi and M at the restaurant a couple of the super stars we chatted to every day but testament to all the colleagues , they were exceptional . As we are already planning to return next year , you will probably gauge we truly had an amazing time ! We can’t wait to see what the new Casa de La Flora has to offer in 2024 ! Thank you , Mark and Tracey K-S / ขอบคุณทีมงานคาซ่า เดอ ลา ฟลอร่า ❤️

We have just checked out from a 5 night stay . We booked a studio pool suite, however there was a problem with the floor in the room and we were upgraded to a 3 storey duplex on the 2nd day. The apartment was lovely and the air con worked better than in the studio room. The bed was very comfortable and the private pool bigger than expected. Really nice to cool off in. Breakfast is excellent. You are presented with a menu to choose from as soon as you sit down. The choice is excellent. There's also the usual buffet items , fruit, pastries etc to select from. On our first day we selected from the menu and then went and chose some fruit and yogurt to eat first. We ended up with our hot breakfast arriving at the same time so, after that we learnt to wait and order from the menu after we'd selected our fruit so the service was spaced out. There is a small sandy area in front of the hotel with some sunbeds. Also some around the pool. There was always availability while we were there. We preferred to go the 'proper' beach and went to Coconut Beach most days by taxi. It's superb, great beach and choice of beach bars with free sunbeds, but you need to get there before 10 to he sure of getting one. Other than breakfast we didn't eat at the hotel. The prices are much higher than in the local bars and restaurants and we like to experience the local cuisine. Loads of choice in the town. Turn right out of the hotel then left at the bottom of the road takes you to the town. If you turn left out of the hotel there's a really nice beach bar called Nong Prew situated on a quiet beach. 2 to 3 mins walk away.

Stayed in Casa Pool Suite I stayed in Casa for the second time in January for 10 nights. I had another fantastic stay, with brilliant staff and food. However, the hotel now is certainly need of refurbishment which I believe is scheduled for May 2023. A few issues to note below. - The 'Do not disturb' buttons outside the rooms are no longer functional - Our swimming pool emptied itself one morning and needed maintenance to refill - The steps on our swimming pool were not secured and would fall to one side, which seemed rather dangerous - The thermostat on one of our showers did not work - There is not enough hot water to fill the large bathtubs - The hotel shuttle charges per couple, rather than per van. I booked a shuttle for 2,000THB but was told for 4 Pax it would be 4,000. So we reverted back to our original plan and booked a taxi for 1,500 for the 4 of us. - The hotel room interiors are quite dark, I would love to see the rooms lightened up somewhat in the refurbishment. Please don't let the above points put you off booking this hotel, it is great and I make these points as I only wish to see it improve. At present, the hotel will not accept bookings for next year and I believe that they do not plan to accept bookings until the refurbishment is complete. I very much look forward to reading more information about the proposed refurbishment as I would love to visit again next year.

We got a lockdown bargain, 9 months before the trip, to this little 36 room upmarket hotel in Khao Lak. We had 11 nights there plus 2 days travelling – or we did before SIA cancelled our return Phuket flight and condemned us to 14 hours overnight at Singapore airport. The hotel was really good in some ways. Less so in others. The architecture is brutalist/cubist, a bit odd, but our duplex grand pool villa was big and dramatic and the 20x7ft private pool with jacuzzi was great – it got more sun than most and was very pleasant, at around 26C. We rarely used the shared infinity pool which was a lovely temperature though lacking in places to sit around it. The catch was that on day 1 my wife bashed her ankle on a sharp corner of the bed and it turned painfully septic later, needing antibiotics. The beach was not so good. There were lovely sea views from our room and restaurant area but Casa de la Flora (since they constructed a big concrete sea wall) no longer has a beach worthy of the name, just a strip of wet sand down concrete steps that you can swim from for only 3-4 hours at low tide. We were a bit shocked by the absence of any nice public beaches nearby. There’s about a 1km stretch here where sea walls have really spoiled the coastline. From the hotel you have to walk around 10 mins North to a decent beach (past the wreckage of an abandoned part built hotel). The hotel does ferry guests for free to two sister hotels to the South. We tried La Vela, a huge hotel and not our sort of place at all. We waded across the river to the S and after a walk past construction work found a nice beach. But it was high tide on the way back, the little ferry was not working and my wife had to wade with the sea up to her neck! Twice we paid for taxis to Pak Weep beach to the North. Really nice, with plenty of beach restaurants then a pretty empty crescent of lovely beach beyond. On our last full day we got a taxi to/from Poseidon (aka Paradise) Beach to the South. Stunning, with golden sand, interesting black rocks and 3 beach restaurants. Great for swimming for all ages. The hinterland of Casa de la Flora is not great nearby. There are a few local hotel restaurants but we were on half board. Not even a convenience store within 15 mins walk, although beyond that are lots of shops and the Bang Niang Market. So even topping up water supplies is difficult (they resupply the free mini bar daily with water but never enough, also beer and soft drinks). We got some bottles of wine and some local brandy at the PS Discount Minimart 17 mins walk away. Now to the good news. The staff are plentiful and very friendly and helpful, delightful even (except for our room cleaner, who never resupplied shampoo etc). We were on a half board deal and the food was absolutely superb. At breakfast you can order anything from eggs Benedict to Japanese or Korean dishes plus there’s a good help yourself line-up with yogurts, cheese, papaya and even a decent Italian fizz that’s not rationed. We had a lovely variety of dishes during our stay. There were also enjoyable weekly free cocktail sessions by the sea early evening. The dinners (or we could choose lunch instead) were also really good (ignoring the drinks prices, £30 for a bottle of wine vs £10 retail). We could order from an extensive set menu with about 10 choices of starters and desserts and a lot of mains, both Thai and Western. Whatever we chose the cooking was wonderful, beautifully served and presented. It was all pretty healthy; we put on less than 1kg each on the holiday. In conclusion it was a lovely place in many ways, with terrific staff and food. But we would not lightly return because of its position, with no beach to speak of. And my wife’s injury (everything was very angular and not comfortable except for the very comfy bed) put a real dampener on the holiday for us. If you do come to this hotel bank on often paying £20 a day for taxis to/from beaches a few kms away.

We stayed at this fantastic boutique resort for 6 nights on the final leg of our 6 week Thai trip. It was certainly the best hotel we stayed at. We managed to get one of the only rooms without a view, but it was very luxurious & comfortable, with comfy bed, rain shower & complimentary mini bar. The hotel is an oasis of calm, the staff are super friendly & go the extra mile to ensure you have the best stay. No actual beach, but a great pool where you actually get a sun bed! A La carte sparking breakfast added to the luxury experience with a great choice of tapas style dishes from around the world. Lots of good restaurants, bars & shopping in easy walk. Gym was a disappointment with poor equipment & inadequate air con. Great stay thank you 🙏🙏

We stayed here for a few night in February. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Yes it is boutique but having your own private pool overlooking the sea is second to none. We went to the Marriott in Khao Lak for a meal and after seeing that resort, Casa De La Flora is miles ahead for what you get for your money, food and service. Upon arrival 'Peach' greeted us and showed us the facilities and our room. We were lucky enough to be offered a free upgrade as well. Peach was friendly and instantly made us feel at home and is a credit to the hotel. The breakfast was great especially being able to enjoy it overlooking the sea. We had a brilliant stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. This is probably the best hotel we've stayed at whilst touring south east Asia.

We absolutely loved our week-long stay in a Grand Pool villa here, and certainly hope to return some time in the future! One of the best things about staying here is that it offers the privacy and service of a luxurious boutique, villa-style hotel - but ALSO all the bonuses of larger resorts like multiple restaurant and even spa choices, large swimming pools, and extensive beaches due to the free shuttle service to sister properties La Flora & La Vela. (food & spa at the sister properties is also noticeably cheaper, some of it significantly so; we particularly enjoyed dinners at La Vela) Pros: * Wonderful, friendly, attentive staff & service * Excellent made-to-order breakfast (plus small buffet) * Beautiful villas with great comfort all around * Nice and relaxing infinity pool * Gorgeous public beach located ~5min north of the hotel * Town/market areas with shops and good restaurants ~10min south of the hotel * Shuttle service to La Vela and La Flora resorts (see above!) Cons (or, mostly, very minor gripes): * Hot water only sufficient to fill <1/4th of bathtub * Direct-booking price match policy was not honored; maybe price-matching through Marriott would be the way to go * Private pool doesn't necessarily get lots of sun, so runs chilly * AC and light controls a bit fiddly (and some mis-labeled) * Not that impressed with dinner at their in-house restaurant, but as mentioned there are plenty of alternatives

Dear tew86 Thank you for being our guest and your detailed review. Happy to read that the pros are well received and as for the cons our owners and management will be making changes to most of the concerning areas and addressing all matters of our aged property in this coming low season. Plans of fresh new facelift, upgraded in room technology and most definitely a very desired culinary venue for all our guest and for the province. We with all up and coming plans, we hope to see your return to Casa Dela Flora in the near future. Best Regards James Hang

The hotel is a bit shabby and due a refurbishment in May 2023. However, flaky paint and cracked plaster will not be an issue after this. The staff are fantastic, so helpful in all respects, mention to Tie and Mild. We got duplex room 2319 which is on 3 floors and it’s an excellent room. The bed is comfortable, and the amenities top notch. The private pool was of a good size and a lovely place to sunbathe. It could do with an outside table and chairs as well as the sunbeds. The Wi-Fi in the room was flaky but after a couple complaints it was fixed and worked well. The TV has very limited options and would benefit from having their full smart technology allowed. The massive joke bath was used every day and only took half an hour to fill. I think this space would be better used with a double jacuzzi spa bath. We had a couple treatments in the spa and they were really good. Also had a couple off-site which were very good and much cheaper but the hotel experience overall was better and worth a little extra The surrounding area is full of excellent restaurants, Nong Prew on the beach (left out hotel) and Tiew Son (right) being fabulous. Taxis are 200baht to nearly everywhere in Khao Lak.

Wow! Just WOW! The staff here are amazingly welcoming, friendly & helpful. We came here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon trip to Thailand & it has been the most amazing time! We had our room upgraded on arrival & a complimentary Thai massage due to some minor repair working being done, that in all honesty had no impact on us l. The food options are vast & all great quality. Breakfast has a buffet and order option, eggs benedict, steak breakfast & more available to order and fruit, bread, salad, cereal, void meats, cheeses & more on the buffet. They even had the option of a special Valentine's meal package if you wanted, or your could just dine a la carte, both options could enjoy a local musician who sang & played guitar. The rooms are SPECTACULAR, our villa was at the back of the property but still had some sea view, was quiet, without being remote & all rooms come with their own private pool, which is a fantastic standard to have! All in all this hotel has blown our minds & exceeded expectations.
