Great place to stay. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Arusha. Has everything you would want from a hostel: clean, safe, nice people, quiet. We stayed in a private room for 6 nights total. The owner/manager were very flexible with us changing our dates when our flight was delayed and our plans changed. When there was an issue and they accidentally overbooked our room, they offered an alternative and a discount, which we appreciated. When my partner was ill, the staff were really helpful and I felt if there had been an emergency we would have been in good hands. They also offer dinner every evening for 12,000 Tsh per person, we had it a few times and it was great. Breakfast usually consisted of omelettes, fruits, pancakes, yams etc. They have drinking water, towels, lockers, communal fridge and kitchen, and they can help organise tours to local places as well. It’s not too far away from the centre of Arusha: you can get there on a daladala for about 800Tsh i believe (?) or a taxi for 5,000-10,000Tsh (you can either ask them to recommend a taxi or use the InDriver app). There’s also an ATM and supermarket within walking distance from the hostel. Overall this place is great, would recommend it.…
Good Hostel but a little extensive. Nice people and owner. A lot of options and safaris at which you can participate. The pool is very nice. Also the bathrooms are very good and nice. Nice that you can have dinner.
We stayed one night, it is all nice and clean. The Owner is friendly. One free beer or shot if you write a review. But there is also a pool and a rooftoo bar. Very great. Pole pole. Karibu sana. Kwaheri!
I stayed in the Nyumbani hostel for two weeks for volunteering. It felt like home to me: the people were amazing, the staff was super courteous and the food was good too. The atmosphere was super welcoming and it was also super clean. Also, you were able to book tours, trips and safari from the hostel which were really nice as well. I would love to come back sometimes. (: Asante sana
A wonderful place for first time visitors to Tanzania! All the staff and the guests are super friendly-- great place to make new friends or get awesome hookups for safaris, day trips, and activities. There's yoga, live music, and other things which are great if you're staying longer and are wanting to build community. Plus there's dinners and breakfasts where you can join with everyone else at the hotel-- you wash your own dishes after sharing a delicious meal. This is definitely a great place to make you feel at home and connect you to other travelers. The accommodations are very clean, but above all, the staff will take great care of you!
I've spent two months in Nyumbani Hostel as a Volunteer and it felt like home from the very beginning. All the staff is so kind and everyone is taking care. The rooms and bathrooms are really clean. There are many quiet spots arround the hostel where you can relax. But if you want to meet other people you just join breakfast or dinner and you will meet a lot of other travellers and volunteers. My favorite spot was the bar at the rooftop. It's a really nice place to enjoy some good drinks, the sunset, and good conversations. It is really hard to say goodbye to all these amazing people who are working here.
If you are looking for an oasis in Arusha, Nyumbani Hostel is the closest thing you will get. The amenities are fabolous, the people working here are wonderful and the food here is superb. You cant ask for for more. The people in the hostel also arrange activities, like daily trips and they can also help to arrange for safaries. My favourite thing about the hostel was the breakfast, it was really good and it also made it possible for being social with the other guests and, which made making friends easier. Moreover, the breakfast is included. So if you are looking for a place to stay in Arusha, I would urge you to book your accomodation at Nyumbani Hostel, you will not regret that decision.
Pretty nice hostel with a very nice pool and clean rooms. The food was good and they arranged a transport to the airport for us. The owner of the Hostel Tizia answered all questions ahead of our travel. We could recommend the hostel to everyone.
Room was spacious and clean. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar for a cold beer at sunset. Dinner was tasty and included healthy choices. The hostel owner was really kind and arranged airport transfer for us. We enjoyed the short stay after our safari.
Had a really nice time!! Music was nice, enough drinks, a really good host. You can see the starts, dance, listen too music, dart! So go with your friends and chill. It feels like a good place with a nice vibe.
