We used this lodge as a starting and finishing point for our safari and stayed four nights. It is a good lodge with friendly service and beautiful surroundings, and one some days velvet monkeys walking arround (but not disturbing). However, the lodge is now surrounded by the very rapid growing city of Arusha and therfore there is indeed some noise... More

I was part of a school trip but had to be separated from our main group to care for a student that had required surgery. The staff at Karama were so caring and thoughtful towards my student, they couldn't do enough for her, this also included supporting me with contacting medical advice. They were happy for me to order off... More

We stayed here in July for one night when we arrived in Tanzania. We skipped dinner as we were both tired from the journey so I cant comment on the evening meal there. the room was basic but comfortable, and the landscape around Karama is very picturesque. Breakfast the next morning was really nice, the restaurant has a lovely view... More

This "Lodge" is basically tents on wood platforms on a hill just slightly outside the city of Arusha. Stayed there for one night in July 2016, and it was extremely cold, since there's no heat in the tents, and the wind just blew through the tent. They did provide warm blankets, though, so the temperature was Ok while sleeping, but... More

I looked at the photos online, and although there were negative reviews I formed my own opinion that it looked wonderful. It wasn't. Staff were rude, food was so bad (especially dinner). Rooms did not work well for the price. Tiny bathroom, shower terrible, power plug half hanging out of the wall (exposed wires). Gift shop nice. WIFI was not... More

A virtual oasis located in the bustling East African city centre. A delightful stop coming and going from our safaris. Service was attentive, friendly, and helpful. We loved our treehouse room, and enjoyed all of the local critters and city sounds.

We arrived in quite late after a few very long flights however when we arrived the staff were very welcoming. The rooms are like big wooden bungalows with high, peak ceilings and padlocks to lock the doors... and as we were told, locking the doors was necessary if you didn't want your possessions tampered with by the wildlife (monkeys)! There... More

We were excited about coming here but were disappointed by the barking dogs - all night, bats in the roof (outside but noisy) of our friend's hut, long walk to our hut when no one else was staying there except us - was that for extra tip?? or closer huts didn't have beds we needed?? The bed was comfortable and... More

From the moment my friends and I got to the gate of this establishment, we felt unwelcome. All we wanted to do was to spend a nice afternoon by the pool, order a few drinks and have good food. Instead we were constantly reminded that we had to spend a minimum of tsh35k. Not that it is a problem for... More

After a pleasant stay at this lodge in 2014, a spent the last weekend there, what a disappointment. First of all they got my booking wrong. I booked on half board basis, but for dinner I got the regular menu and when I said I was on half board asked to choose from this menu, what I did. Some minutes... More
