We used the transport side of this company. They charged us for a private car to Moshi from Nairobi. The car broke down 1 hour into the journey then we had to get a bus the rest of the way. A 6 hour journey took us 10 hours. They refused to give any money back. We negotiated they take us back to Nairobi in a private car for £65 extra which was agreed. The driver turned up late in a safari jeep which is meant for off roading and not to travel a long journey. This was ridiculous for a 7 hour journey. They then agreed to swap for the original car (that the GM had decided to use herself instead of giving it to us despite us paying for it) that was agreed and the GM herself turned up an hour late again and had no excuse and refused to offer any explanation. Literally when asked she said "I have no explanation and don't want to talk about it". Because we were so delayed, our journey ran into the evening when it was dark and we then pulled over by the police who extorted another $60 of us. During this time, the driver left us alone in the car and I am so sure he was involved in the extortion as when we were originally pulled over he said something to them and then left us alone and only got back in the car after we handed the money over. Do not use this company. They are involved in scamming. They take your money and do not deliver. Don't ruin your holiday. Absolutely awful. I will be telling local hotels not to use them too in order to save guests being ripped off and lied to. We wasted 2 whole days of our trip because of their incompetence. The drivers name was Goodenough and the lady who is the GM and an absolute joke when it comes to looking after customer safety and service, her name is Beatrice Dimitris Dallaris, General Manager of Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge and Classic Tours and Safaris and Ngurdoto Shuttle Services. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Was there from 25th to 27th Dec, place is really beautiful.. breathtaking...but the service is absolutely terrible. On Christmas day, a soda took 45 mins to come and when queried, waiter said they were getting it from the store...there weren't that many people there. On day two, lights disappeared at the hotel from 11 to about 7pm. Breakfast was horrible with not much selection other than oil drenched hot dogs.. Gardens are beautiful and cottages are cosy...just not managed well. Sadly I won't be visiting here again.

Beautiful grounds! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms could use a little work as far as lighting and water leakage but overall pretty good. The breakfast was good, too! The mosquito nets are a very important addition to the rooms.

Stayed 5 days as part of a conference. As mentioned by earlier reviews, the place could use a little TLC. But, the staff is absolutely wonderful. I have food allergies and the chef was in total control. The reception, waiters, drivers. Everybody very very nice. The surroundings are stunning. Stayed in no 32. Very nice room. I was lucky and had a little lizard in the room. This little hard working creature kept my room spotlessly free from mosquitoes etc. As I did not pay, I do not know if it's value for money. Used the hotels safari company The Classic Safari. Very good and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended!

A very average hotel that has seen better days. Noticed that my towels had hair follicles in them, this obviously meant they were not washed properly. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Good selection for breakfast. Can improve on overall maintenance and standards though.

Stayed in this hotel late October as was attending workshop at East African Community Secretariat in Arusha. Staff there very slow, poorly trained to work in a tourist hotel. No snacks shop for guests/visitors. Staff seducing visitors/guests. Pathetic and unprofessional.

This was an unfortunate fiasco. This place had to have been (operative word) a great spot as it is surrounded by a sadly overgrown golf course. I stayed in a satellite turret room with no tv reception or heat. The bath was my saving grace but it leaked so I swabbed the floor every time I used it. The food was terrible, the lobby women were three who treated us, checking in as an inconvenience. The concierge was very nice so bypass reception whenever possible. The taxis they called for us were over priced so when you hit on a honest price take down the driver's number. I gave a star which is generous....I highly recommend the Meru Mountain Game lodge where we moved to as quickly as possible

I stayed here for a week as part of a conference I was attending. All I can say is an average place with a very above average price.Food, service, rooms nothing were of a high standard. Bathroom fixtures were falling, poor quality towels, hot water service was poor. A few of other conference participants also were not happy campers.

The accomodations were pretty good for a foreign hotel. Food was good. They can arrange offsite excursions. Don't worry about lizards they're harmless. Beautiful huge storks seems to like the grounds by the restaurant. Staff is friendly. Have WiFi. Though the electricity is Arusha is unstable. I'd stay again if I came back to Arusha. Very accommodating and try to make your stay as comfortable as they can.

Our ongoing conference has over one thousand participants and Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge has done a very good job at hosting all of us. The meeting halls and workshop areas meet our requirements. Accommodations are satisfactory. And the walking and jogging paths are very good. Most importantly, for me, the staff are warm and welcoming. Especially the Filipino manager at the reception area.
