The restaurant and the hotel team is friendly and helpful. Food preparing was slow, but the taste is good and the service is ok. We liked rooms a lot, especially fireplaces (in suites). Coffee plantation is not that impressing.
Very welcoming staff/ great masseuse - great to ease the pain of trekking ! the coffee tour is very interesting and a good way to spend an hour.

You can wear sandals at The Arusha Coffee Lodge. However, I found sandals of any sort were not a good option as there was often a lot of dirt, loose sand and even dung in camp. We all used trail shoes. I only used my sandals inside our tents.
Rather than Deet, I would recommend Picaridin as it worked better vs the myriad of bugs you will encounter, and unlike Deet, it doesn't smell bad.

"rooms 1 -5 (they are little cabins) are the quietest -- room 17 is next to highway and has more noise.. avoid!"
