Detailed Reviews
Overall Experience:
My wife and I stayed at the Kahawa house for one night to kick off our safari during our honeymoon. The hotel grounds are stunning. Everything is perfectly maintained and well decorated. There are several gardens throughout that provide fresh vegetables for meals at the restaurant. This was the perfect way to relax after a long journey.
The Staff:
From the welcome to the dining experiences all of the service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and made us feel at home. They were constantly offering different things to make our stay even better. The dining experiences were amazing and it felt like we were in a five star restaurant.
The Room:
It was stunning and spacious. The decor was beautiful. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of space including a shower and separate bath tub.
The Food:
The meals were phenomenal. After a particularly amazing chicken curry dish we asked to speak to the chef to get the recipe. I would visit this hotel again just for the food.

We arrived to find a beautiful clean lodge in Arusha . The staff were amazing - doing their utmost to accommodate any request . Food was well prepared and the different eating venues were clean and well managed . The rooms are larger than most and the finishes are superior to most other lodges. The grow most of their own vegetables in the gardens . Fresh coffee is made from their own beans grown in the garden . The are the

The chef Davide is very talented. He prepared amazing meals, worrying about our tastes and cooking with fresh and high quallity ingredients. We absolutely enjoyed every one of his meals! After several long flights, it was very nice to arrive to this beautiful place surrounded by nature! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We arrived late morning but they still fed us breakfast (they even cooked omelets and bacon for us). They grow their own coffee beans and most vegetables in their garden. The chef and service staff were exceptional and the food was great! The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The location and the beautiful grounds make this place quiet and relaxing, perfect for recovering from jet lag and getting ready to start our safari. Highly recommend Kahawa House!!

Hotel was very comfortable, on beautiful grounds, with very friendly and helpful staff.
The rooms were villa styled rooms with an outside courtyard, and a lovely pool.
The location is not in town, and off a very bumpy road, but good for staying if you're planning to visit areas in the outskirts of Arusha.

We had a peaceful stay at Kawaha House which is located in a guarded area next to the coffee plantations. All staff members were very friendly and kind and in general the service level was great. Food was very good too. During our 2 weeks stay in Tanzania, I had the best sleep in this hotel.

Kahawa House is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The open concept of the place and being surrounded by nature has a truly calming effect. They grow all of their fruits and veggies in house so everything was always fresh. The room was lovely and spacious and you can always expect a blasting hot shower. The staff was truly wonderful and always so helpful. The chef is also superb.

We only stayed at the Kahawa house for one night before our safari began the next day, arriving late afternoon so we didn't get to experience the hotel for long. That said, our stay was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful with any request we had. The vegetarian food choices weren't that great at dinner but it was not too bad either. The hotel is a bit far from the main centre of Arusha so not for anyone who wants to explore Arusha on foot.

This was the first place we stayed upon arriving in Tanzania. We were not sure what to expect on our first trip to Africa and then we walked into the Kahawa House. We had flown for 21 hours and then taken a transport from the airport that took an hour. We were tired travelers and then we stepped into the oasis of the Kahawa. Within the first two hours we were there we already agreed it was worth the long trip! First of all, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are luxurious!
Brenda the manager, is top notch. She was continually checking in to make sure all of our needs were met and that we were happy. The caring and committed staff sets this place apart from the rest.
