Like many other travelers, we started our Africa safari with the Shangazi House as our first stop. What a great way to start! Arriving late and tired from 20+ hours of travel Victor met us and took us to our cottage. It was perfect, food great, and grounds so restful to walk around and enjoy. It is very quiet! There...

Shangazi House was the perfect spot to rest after flying almost 24 hours to reach Tanzania. We arrived late (after 10pm), but Vincent and the chef fired up the kitchen and we had an excellent dinner. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we had during our whole trip. The breakfast was also a delicious spread and Vincent...

Shangazi House was and will again be my stop before and after a six day horse safari with Kasaki, which is taking me out to meet our horses later today. I arrived yesterday afternoon to the incredible grounds that featured massive trees, great flowering bushes of every color from deep purples and blues bird of paradise to bright oranges, a...

It's a gated property and very quiet. The grounds are immaculate, the dogs are friendly and the rooms are secluded and very comfortable. We were the only guests on our one night and we had a nice dinner with wonderful service. It's a great spot to re-charge your batteries before starting a Tanzanian vacation.

We started our vacation in Tanzania at Shangazi House for two nights. We arrived in the wee hours of the morning. We had no idea how beautiful the grounds were until the next morning when we opened the curtains. The variety of flowers, trees and the gardens are amazing. The staff were very caring and worked hard to anticipate our...

Made to feel very welcome from start to finish. This is a very small lodge, with 2 rooms in the main house and a few bungalows within the grounds. The bungalows are very rustic and comfortable. The grounds are very attractive and well kept and there is a small swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and at tentative. The...

This was the first stop on our 2 week safari trip in Tanzania, and I couldn't have been more pleased. Lela, the woman who runs the shindig was so incredibly kind and welcoming, and so were her 3 dogs! I fell in love with them instantly! To add to the pets, there is a pet warthog named Marios, how cute...

I stayed here for two nights in late Feb. before beginning a safari. It was so cozy and restful. The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was friendly, if a bit shy, but provided everything needed and always with a smile. The dinner was excellent. It was a perfect place for a bit of jet lag recovery and a day in...

Shangazi House was our base before and after a Kilimanjaro climb. It is a beautiful, pastoral and gentle little place that provides a comforting sanctuary. We felt very well taken care of and were fortunate to share some time with members of the family who have owned and cared for the place for generations.
