My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Songota Falls where Joyce, the owner, spoiled us with her tasty and excellent meals. We also loved the walking tour experiencing the every day life of the neighboring villages.

This place is a nice little getaway up in the mountains outside of Arusha. It is a little far from town but well worth the peace and quiet. Joyce was incredibly helpful and a wonderful cook! The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The bathrooms are nothing fancy so don't expect too much there. But the views are spectacular and... More

I have been at Songotafalls Lodge now many times and when I come back again, there is no doubt that this is going to be my first choice. The view to the waterfall is stunning, the hospitality is like an African RitzCarltonHotel, because Joyce anticipates your wishes, before you have said something. But the best of all is the food:... Charming cottages with wonderful views of a valley with waterfalls nearby. The food was delicious, and our host Joyce was a most interesting person, with an inspiring life story. Her gift shop has the best bargains of the whole trip. We took a walking trip to a coffee plantation and watched as the ground and roasted the coffee. A lovely... More

Joyce the owner is a great hostess and cook. Her son Raymond gave us an interesting tour of the local neighborhood and coffee tasting. I would stay here again. It was clean, safe and had a beautiful view of the valley. Beautiful natural surroundings.

We (group of ten) stayed here one night while in Tanzania. Joyce, the owner, is a superb cook and hostess. Her son, Raymond, is a talented artist who has painted large murals on the buildings. The food (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) was wonderful-- nicely seasoned. Rooms are charming, round cottages, with comfortable beds and hot showers! The grounds are peaceful,... More

Our group of 10 spent one night there and had three lovely meals served outside overlooking a lovely valley. Host Joyce is an excellent cook and very accommodating. Her son Raymond led us on a "coffee walk" to family demonstrating the roasting and grinding and brewing of good coffee.

Beautiful environment, very very relaxing. The lady running it is just lovely and the rooms very nice and original. Nestled on hill overlooking a valley with a small waterfall is completely surrounded by nature while being a step away from the bustling Arusha.

We had a nice stay at Songota. The grounds are very pleasant and peaceful, with great views down into the valley below. The elevation makes sleeping very comfortable because it gets quite cool at night. Joyce (the owner) is a great cook, and was accommodating of two of us being vegetarian. That is good because it would be very hard... More

We stayed here for one night. After the two long flights to get to Kilimanjaro airport and then the drive here we felt some recuperation was in order before heading out to Ngorongora and the Serengeti for our week long safari with friends. Given the short duration of our stay in Arusha we didn't see the point in shelling out... More
