We chose it because it was handy to the train station, both to arrive and to next morning catch the mountain railway. Plenty of good shopping, market and food around. Very spacious, maybe a bit of lingering cigarette smoke. Not much English at the desk. Breakfast very basic. We paid for a room with a " city view", but the...

Whats Good: Room given was rather big, enough to fit one more single bed with space to spare. Location wise its near wenhua night market (文化夜市), train station and lots of good food around. Wifi is rather fast. Whats Not Good: Front lobby located on the 11th floor, not that easy to find initially especially for non chinese. Even for...

We chose this hotel for its convenient location near the train station ( across the main road) as we needed to queue up early to purchase the forest train tickets up to Alishan the next morning. (Even then, tickets to the first train were already sold out!) Not a bad hotel - room was spacious and clean though we had...

We spent 2 nights in the Presidential suite. Great impression. Sauna, hammam and jacouzzi in the bathroom. This hotel is very well situated in the centre of the city, in front of the Railway Station, where the historical train to the Alishan mountains starts. Very good chinese breakfast but poor for Westerners. Business center available in the same building.

To the uninitiated, Chiayi is not as modern and contemporary as Taipei. So most or all of the hotels here looked aged. The Yoyo Hotel is a hotel located on the upper floors of a building which houses 3 or more other hotels. The lobby is on the 11th floor. Hotel is in a central location, just opposite the main...

Reception is on the 11th floor of a building straight across the road from Chiayi Railway Station. The lift is painfully slow but the staff on the reception desk are friendly and most speak English. My room was excellent, quite large with a very big bed. There was a refrigerator and tea making facilities. The bathroom was huge by Taiwan...

There is nothing pretentious about this business class hotel. Good breakfast. Very clean and nicely maintained. Excellent location - right across from the main railway station in Chiayi City. and for some reason this stupid website still insists on a minimum 200 characters ...
