This was the best surprise! This lodge does not deserve to be titled as a backpackers but should rather be called a hotel! We booked a room and couldn't have been more impressed. We had a private garden room with braai facilities. The room was newly renovated and tastefully decorated. The lodge catered to all out needs and the facilities... More

Over long weekends this establishment can be packed to maximum capacity. Patrons can be noisy. Luckily the main building closes at 11pm. We were unfortunate that a very loud and aggressive american girl stayed in a tent opposite our bungalow. She would, for no reason, fight with her roommate at 2am in the morning. The fight would continue until sunrise.... More

hi Mario We close our reception at 10pm and try to quieten everything down at this time however when we are full it sometimes takes a little longer. Apologies for the domestic troubles that were so close to your room. More

Great atmosphere and staff to make you feel at home. A tidy hostel with everything you need to enjoy your stay including very helpful staff to give all the tips you need to visit Mbabane. Do not forget to do the 3h hiking first in the morning, it is definitely worth it! (It starts and ends at the hostel)

I spend more than a week at this great place. It calls itself a backpacker but that is definitely understated - it feels like a farmhouse in Hlilwane National Park! The lovely staff ladies offer different food every night at the fire place. There is a pool with a big terasse, a garden - no, a park - with lots... More

Had a very amazing time, during our 4 day stay, in the self camping area. Friendly staff, nearby shops, and lots of volunteers backpacking to provide interesting stories from around the world. The hike is world class, but definitely not for beginners! Will visit anytime!

We never stayed at this backpackers but we did the hike up the mountain and the view was amazing. We were also escorted by two adorable dogs that stayed with us the whole way up. Its an easy enough hike. Bring water. At the top, take a moment and look around. Some nice plants a long the way too including... More

We stayed at Lidwala lodge for 3 nights. From here we would like to see Swaziland and it's culture. We stayed at the private double which was really fresh and newlooking! The lodge was nice and vibrant due to the stay of some students from australia and canada. Each evening you can enjoy dinner or a braai by Mpumi himself.... More

We got stuck for somewhere to stay, all the middle range hotels were booked. This is a backpackers lodge, frequented by people in their late teens, early 20s. Its setup for this age group. Even though we consider ourselves adventurous, this place was an adventure we should have done 20 years ago. I ended up sleeping in the car.

The place offers what you'd expect for the money. Most of the time the lodge appeared to be full, with tour groups of kids from various parts of the world visiting to do things like the rafting and canopy tours on offer within an hour or so drive from Lidwala. The place is well located and much of Swaziland is... More
