Dickman resort is simply fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful and very stylish. My wife and I stayed in the Mango suite, which has a huge and comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with rainshower, and always hot water, soap and towels. There is a big fridge, large TV, good A/C, and everything is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is top notch and snacks and drinks provided on request, and at reasonable cost. There is a fantastic pool and sunbeds. Best of all, the guys that work here are so genuinely lovely, friendly and attentive. This has to be up among the best places to stay in Sri Lanka. Do your self a favour and book in. 100% recommend.

We booked the first four nights here for our arrival in SL however our flight from Australia was delayed and so we were a day late arriving. This was not a problem though as we were still able to spend four nights with the minor inconvenience of having to change rooms for the last night. It was extremely accommodating of the staff to allow this and it meant we could acclimatise and get organised prior to heading up to Jaffna. We are grateful to Damith, Danu and Harsha for their flexibility!
The resort is located up a quiet street about 300 metres from the frenetic beach road and so quiet however conveniently located to restaurants, cafes, taxi services, etc. Having said this the staff will organise tuk tuks and drivers for you so you can avoid the hassle of negotiating on the Main Street.
We spent the first three nights in the Red suite, which was extremely comfortable and has a fabulous bathroom and balcony overlooking the garden and front entrance so it was very quiet.
The last night we spent in the Orange room which is on the ground floor and still a good size room with a serviceable bathroom however not as luxurious as the suite.
The swimming pool is great and my husband managed to swim his daily 1-1.5 kms as it is not busy.
Finally, I would like to mention the delicious food and lovely staff - Damith, Harsha, Danu, Desican, Mahinda, Dilhen and everyone else whose names I have forgotten - sorry! Together you all make this boutique hotel very special and an extremely welcoming experience. Mr Dickman should be very proud.

We had the pleasure of staying 4 wonderful nights in this boutique hotel in Negombo. Location is perfect, a block inland from the main street, so very peaceful. Staff are a true highlight, with top class service in every respect, starting with the excellent breakfast service and continued throughout the day around the pool and hotel grounds. Breakfast is excellent, with fresh fruit and a choice of main dishes such as omlettes and scrambled eggs with toast. Pool area is amazing with plenty of both sun and shaded loungers. Just 15 mins from the main international airport (CMB) so the perfect hotel to begin or end your time in Sri Lanka! Rooms are very comfortable, with full air-conditioning, TV, tea & coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Wifi network also very strong and reliable. Highly recommended!!!

This is an oasis of calm and tranquility which we were so grateful to experience after our 12 day tour of Sri Lanka. The hotel is situated down a little lane about 100yards from the hustle and bustle of the main road where you can find lots of cafes, bars and the usual souvenir shops. Our room/suite was very spacious with a magnificent bed with such wonderful pillows that gave us the best sleeps ever. The hotel is decorated and furnished in a quirky style which is charming. There’s also a magnificent pool to dip into when the heat from the sun is just too overwhelming! Staff were extremely friendly and polite and couldn’t do more to make us welcome and cared for. Breakfast is superb with fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea/coffee and a comprehensive choice of cooked dishes. All in all, we left feeling rested so many thanks to all the staff for rounding off our wonderful holiday in Sri Lanka.

I hardly ever write reviews but the Dickman Resort is one of those places where you just feel so positive after staying with them that you want to tell people how wonderful it is. From the beginning of the booking experience with reliable, quick communication prior to my trip, to the 2:00 a.m. pickup at the airport upon arrival, to the great conversations with staff and other guests, to the peaceful warm feeling you can't help but have while you're there, I can't say enough good things about staying here. The room is spacious and very comfortable. The bed was excellent. The early morning swim in the lovely pool listening to the birds wake up around you is really a treat. The breakfast is outstanding and they even made me a special breakfast of dahl curry, roti and fried eggs with coconut sambal that I wish I could eat every morning. The fresh fruit plate that comes with breakfast is heavenly. Most importantly, the staff make you feel like you're part of the family from the minute you arrive and throughout the whole stay. I will come here anytime I will be in Sri Lanka and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a small, personal boutique hotel experience. Thank you Dickman Hotel for making the start of my trip fantastic!

We have just left the Dickman Resort after staying for our 1st 2 nights in Sri Lanka.
Originally, we weren't going to stay in Negombo, we were going to head straight to Kandy, but we didn't fancy a 2 1/2 hour transfer after 10hour flight. However, we are really pleased that we did.
The Dickman Resort is a lovely (very small) hotel, very very clean, with large comfortable beds, a good shower and delicious breakfast.
All the staff were really friendly and helpful, we would definitely recommend if you are looking to relax for a couple of days before exploring Sri Lanka - or at the end of your holiday if you want to be close to the Airport for your return home.

For accommodation options in Negombo, I can unreservedly recommend the Dickman. It's really a mini-resort, built around the central courtyard and pool. Its shade and tropical colours offer relief from Negombo's dusty streets. The rooms are large, airy, cool and clean; there's a nice selection of sizes and aspects. Reliable aircon and wifi. But it's the staff who make the place: Thilina, Danu, Damith and colleagues are welcoming and charming, always happy to assist no matter your request or query, including (most valuably) about Sri Lankan culture. I'm fresh from my third visit - a real home away from home.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel with 6 rooms and 3 suites. We stayed in the Mango suite a large ground floor suite with massive bed and lovely rain shower. There is good air conditioning, Wi-Fi and TV including Netflix. The garden and pool are excellent and really comfortable and includes quiet and spacious places to sit in the shade or rain as well as poolside sun. Breakfast is fabulous and served from 8-12 so really laidback. The resort is small and Balinese in design and the thing that makes it so wonderful is the staff and service which I could not fault. We went partly for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and they were so lovely and kind to us on the day as well as for our whole visit. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Lovely place to chill in Negambo… The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. They're very courteous and professional, and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay.
The property itself was incredible. My room was huge, massive bed and comfy over looking the garden and pool.
Love the tranquility and calmness. It's private and the beach is minutes away!
Leaving Dickmans resorts left us with some serious holiday blues. I can't wait to come back Would definitely recommend Chef Indikas Sri Lankan Omlette it’s rib smacking good!!!

Allowed us an early check in following a flight from UK to Columbo. Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Very nice peaceful pool area. Very comfortable bed. Staff could not have been more helpful in recommending restaurants and massages. Definitely would stay again whilst waiting to start a tour of the country.
