A wonderful hotel with wonderful and friendly staff our stay was perfect. Specially Anuradha. She was brilliant. We stayed here for one night and loved every minute of it! The hotel is lovely and the pool perfect. We had Good breakfast thank you chef. We are highly recommended.
Beautiful old style hotel with all the mod cons. Charming and very calming. Loved the overall style of the room and the verandah bar area. The team there made us feel very welcome and we wish we had stayed there instead of Le Grand Galle for our other two nights in the area. Very high quality and super tasty food too. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again on our next visit to Sri Lanka.
We loved our stay was absolutely gorgeous. We loved our time at Galle but this hotel is what made the holiday. As we arrived, we were welcomed in with drinks, and fresh towelettes. It was the sweetest welcome we had the pleasure of experiencing in Sri Lanka. The hotel is a beautiful heritage building that was elegantly and tastefully decorated. The staff and their attitude was unparalleled. They are stars! All of them were so loving and happy. They did their very best to make our holiday amazing. Anurada and the entire team made our stay so relaxed and comfortable. Everyone is super attentive and checked in on us to make sure that our stay was going perfectly. The breakfast was delicious. The marmalade, the breads, the fruits, juices, and eggs! Everything was just incredible. The cocktails and food at this hotel on the whole was the best we had eaten on our trip of Sri Lanka. Our room was always filled with treats, from the fruit platter, to the fried banana bread! It was always stocked with happy little surprises that made each day. The pool was relaxing and luxurious. The room was clean and beautiful. We LOVED our stay here and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting Galle. We can’t thank the team of staff enough!…
Best hotel experience we’ve had bar none - beautifully converted colonial building - attentive, warm and thoughtful staff. They thought about everything - drinks, treats and fruit on arrival. These small perks happened throughout the stay - clean and well maintained - perfectly located in the old fort - exceptional breakfast and food in general, especially the Sri Lankan food My wife teared up when leaving, they really made a mark with their hospitality and charm, especially Anuradha. She welcomed us with the warmest smile and always around to help us. We can’t wait to visit again, if only for the amazing staff who made us feel like family in the short while we were there.
The great stay I experienced at The Galle Fort Hotel under Maitland & Knox (Purveyors of Heritage Luxury) was absolutely brilliant. From the welcome to farewell, the front office team offered excellent hospitality. I must comment on the cleanliness of the room, which was done by the team. It’s excellent. The food was deliciously prepared by the kitchen department, and service was offered by food and beverage. All the team members helped me to make the "Home away from Home", including Front Office, Housekeeping, F & B, Kitchen, Finance, Engineering, Security, and Human Resources. and the all-supportive team. A special thanks goes to Mr. Dinesh (Head of HR group). Mr.Dennam, Operations Manager, The Resident Manager, Mr.Chamara, Mr.indika, Mr. Anuradha, Mr. Samitha, Mr. Costa, Mr. Gore, and Mr. Nimantha Lashan. My memories of my stay, which team has been made, I will share with my friends and family. Thank you again.…
The most charming hotel we’ve ever had the pleasure to visit. The hotel, the verandah, our suite, the al fresco dining, the gardens, the pool, the food - all combine to transport you to another world experience of sophisticated beauty and calm. And then there’s the incredible warmth of people, for whom nothing was a problem. Such a perfect stay. We hated leaving.
In nineteen days we spent time in many hotels but The Galle Fort stood out as one of the best.Staff from top to bottom are brilliant with a very much can do attitude with nothing being too much trouble. We stayed in one of the garden rooms which is right beside the pool ,brilliant light and airy with all amenities provided.Great little bar with firery chillie crisps provided. If your visiting Galle stay here and you will not be disappointed.Well done all at The Galle Fort for making our final days of our holiday in Sri Lanka so special with brilliant staff and fantastic chefs.
What a wonderful stay at this hotel. Such a warm welcome from the staff on arrival and this warmth continued throughout our stay. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, well equipped and with the addition of a decent sized pool (rare for this area) is an extremely comfortable hotel. It is an absolute gem of a building, the decor and furnishings make you feel like you have been transported back in time!! The food is absolutely delicious, from the egg hoppers at breakfast (an absolute must) to the seafood platter for dinner, everything was absolutely perfect and gave a real insight to traditional Sri Lankan cuisine! But the true essense of this place is the staff that look after you. They made our stay so special with such a great sense of humour and their genuine want to make us happy and cater for whatever we needed. A true reflection of the wonderful nature of the Sri Lankan people. Special thanks to Jagath, Costa, Chamara and Asela :D…
From the minute you enter this hotel you’re treated like royalty! All of the staff are friendly, professional and can’t do enough for you. The attention to details is excellent. We stayed in Garden Room 1 which was lovely and very comfortable and ate in the restaurant regularly. There are no negatives at this hotel- everything was positive- the cleanliness and hygiene, the quality of the food, the service, the location, the ambiance. We visited Other establishments within the Fort to look around and have drinks and none of them could compete with this hotel. Thank you to all the staff! We highly recommend this hotel.
We only ate dinner here (I wish we had stayed here as property is stunning), but the food was absolute divine. Wonderful staff, delicious cocktails too. We have been dreaming about that meal every day since we returned to London. Hotel is absolutely stunning too - and where we ate overlooks pool area and it was just wonderful. Try the sri lankan fish curry - you can't go wrong!
