I have been here with my two friends and I think it's a nice place to relax and have some chilling time with friends. Hospitality is also good and the receptionist was really helpful. Had some good time

First of all I would like to suggest a new name for this so called "Hotel". I think people should call it not Hotel Hillside, but "Hotel Hell-side" becaues it is much similar to a "Hell on earth". If you really like to experience the following, please do visit this rotten & disgusting place. - Unclean floors with all possible... More

We were looking for a budget hotel in Galle. After reading the first 4 reviews in Trip advisor we were happy to book 4 rooms in this hotel on the X-mas eve. The rooms were not clean and we spotted spider webs. As this was on the Christmas Eve there was a party going in party hall above our room.... More

The first 4 reviews here made me think that I'm looking at the wrong place. Nevertheless, the address seems correct, and they are almost one year old, so I think something drastic must have happened to the place over the last year (surely, the owner changed?) At the check-in itself, we were told that one room didn't have hot-water, because... More

I do travel a lot as a photography lover and this place gave me the worst experience ever. We booked 3 double rooms and one triple room with hot water and AC. But hot water was not available for two rooms. Till 1.00 am they had a party on the next floor which didn't allow the peaceful sleep. To add... More

I have visited Hotel Hillside a number of times since it opened in 2005. I keep returning because I love its location on top of a small hill just ten minutes away from the historic Galle Fort right on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. I love the spacious, airy, open lay-out of the Hotel which enables me to be... More

Chaminda was a wonderful host to 26 of us from the Tall ship Lord Nelson in May 2013. He organised transport, access to ATMs, beers by the pool, even chips and tomato sauce and a magnificent Sri Lankan meal over 2 nights during our stay in Galle. Disabilities of blindness and wheelchair use he took in his stride and I... More

On behalf of the crew of the Tall Ship Lord Nelson I want to thank Chaminda, proprietor of Hotel Hillside, for the most amazing two days he gave to our party - two of us blind and one in a wheelchair- when The Lord Nelson docked in Galle Harbour. We are on our way round the world on our this... More
