We enjoyed our stay at the hotel although this was curtailed by the Corona virus crisis. The hotel stayed open to help guests from other nearby accommodation which could not offer meals to their residents. The staff were unendingly helpful in allowing us full use of all the facilities and helped us to resolve our travel problems due to the shutdown of the area and subsequent curfew.

out of the 7 hotels that we stayed in this was voted by 4 out of 5 of our party as the best! Although there was no pool and the hotel is small, we enjoyed the more personal atmosphere, which we found really lacking in the bigger, plusher hotels. My personal complaint about it was the malarial bathroom, and the fact that this was the only hotel where I was bitten by mosquitoes- so badly that I awoke a few times, once in actual pain. However, the location is great, and the fort area is an enjoyable experience, even though it is aimed at fleecing the tourist. The hotel has character, and we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. The food was good, although we struggled to eat the large portions. The breakfast was far too much for us, but we managed to all cram in a few

I visited Galle as part of a group trip to Sri Lanka and we stayed at the Heritage hotel. It is stunning and with a Portuguese influence in terms of style and decor. Very classy and comfortable. The staff are attentive and very kind, they made us feel welcome. The food is also delicious, especially their local breakfast. A must!

21 days in Sri Lanka, 7 hotels and this was the BEST with a lovely room! We had a very late departure time for the airport and the manager very kindly arranged a room for us where we could shower and change at the end of the last day - Lovely staff - nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous breakfast with good coffee (can't understand previous views that say the breakfast is meagre .... I could not finish mine ....!) Such a good position in Galle Fort - could walk everywhere. Sadly n room for a swimming pool but that did not detract from our stay. Check out the gift shop - the hotel is owned by a supermarket in Galle and the prices are so good compared to the tourist shops. Had dinner (fabulous curry) on our last night and as they are not licenced we were allowed to provide our

The Heritage Hotel is a brand new hotel in a very old Dutch fort where almost all the other hotels are re-adapted original buildings with a lot of history, rustic damp walls, character and old world charm. But if you don't care for all that or you are scared of old buildings and their ghosts, this is the perfect hotel for you in the Galle fort. It's also very peaceful and quiet, a haven to return to after strolling the busy alleys and cafes of the Fort. The architecture is a hybrid between sri Lankan beach hotel architecture and architecture from the British period. There is absolutely nothing Dutch about it. The entire hotel is nice and clean as it is still very new and with well maintained green spaces. It's centrally located with safe parking on the property but with
