Beautiful property with ample space to relax and enjoy. It's very family friendly and our kids had a great time. The rooms were well spaced, clean and comfortable. Loved the architecture and the well kept gardens and pool area. We were well looked after by their incredible and friendly staff. The food was delicious and accommodated all our requests. Ben, the owner of the property was very kind and considerate and was readily available to contact right throughout our stay. Thanks Ben and the team. Looking forward to going back again!

We had a great time at Nisala Arana. The excellent services and this remarkable place with unique architecture made our stay beyond expectations. The staff was excellent and very helpful always. The food was delicious. The place itself was absolutely nice specially with the blend of Sri Lankan heritage. We loved the enchanting greenery and beautiful outdoor setup. The hotel is situated in a very calm and quite place. The rooms are spacious and clean. Its noteworthy mentioning the distinctive furniture and architecture this place maintain, I’m sure any guest would appreciate them. This note is not complete without mentioning Mr. Benjamin who runs the place. He is very friendly and supportive. Thank you, Benjamin for giving us an early check in and extending the departure time. We love the place, love the services !!! We would definitely visit Nisala Arana once again.

We had a lovely stay at Nisala Arana this Christmas and New Year. Beautiful property set in an amazing garden - the staff could not have been more helpful. Delicious fresh food every day. Easy to get a Tuk Tuk from the property to the beach. Clean and well appointed rooms - excellent for a larger group with multiple families.

We stayed with some friends for two days. Nice boutique hotel with around 10 rooms. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Nicely arranged with unique antique furniture and stuff.
There is a large outdoor area and other facilities were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We spent two nights in this lovely property last week. The property itself is located in a lovely surrounding. The rooms are clean and well furnished and the gardens and pool are very well maintained. The food is excellent as well. One thing however that needs attention is the service. I'll give you an example: The property offers spa services and they outsource this to masseuses who are not permanent staff at the property. The masseuse I had was highly unprofessional. She took 4 calls during the massage and then didn't keep her phone on silent. The whole time her phone rang with a loud and jarring ring tone. When I asked her to stop taking the calls after the 3rd time, she merely turned the phone on silent. She also rushed through the whole process and completed the massage in 40 mins as opposed to the 1 hour that she was going to charge me for! When I complained about this to the manager - I received NO apology and she merely said that she would charge me half the price for the massage that had been cut-short. I was horrified, as any respectable hotel would a) not only apologize for the bad service but also b) not charge the customer for the terrible experience that they had to endure. It just seemed that the manager who is supposedly in-charge of running the place has no say in anything and has to go back to the owner who doesn't reside at the property. They waived off the charge after I put up a fight but the whole experience left a v sour taste. The manager then went on to tell all other staff in the property about what happened which then made it v awkward for us! I would expect better especially if this place is charging so much for a night's stay. I even asked the manager for the email address of the owner of the property so I could share this constructive feedback, but she refused to give it to me. I am hoping the man in -charge Ben is able to read this on TripAdvisor and take these suggestions on board. It would be a real shame if such a nice property were to be rated low because of the poor service (which in my opinion could be easily fixed by better training of staff).

We decided to get married in Sri Lanka, and plumped for the Nisala Arana as the venue for our reception (and for them to organise the ceremony at Bentota beach) - which turned out to be a great decision. The hotel (with only 5 rooms) is situated a 10 minute tuk tuk drive back from the beach, and can be a little difficult to find. This is due to its exclusive nature, accessed via a large, wooden gate. Once inside the beautiful, well-kept grounds of this lovely hotel, you get a real feeling of seclusion and tranquility. It really was something special. Ben (the owner's son) proved a wonderful wedding coordinator, and was able to organise an amazing wedding to our specifications – including an elephant, beach ceremony, arrival via the hotel's beautiful old Morris Minor convertible, fireworks, devil-dancers, fire-walkers, traditional Sri Lankan food (the best we sampled in over a month in SL) etc. We were simply blown away. Fantastic. The hotel (we stayed there 3 nights – pre, during, and post wedding) is simply gorgeous. Bentota itself is just a small town with not a lot going on except a few tourist shops, but the beach is both quiet and picturesque (if you can drag yourself away from the hotel pool). Staying in the monsoon season meant weather was mixed, but we enjoyed at least some sunshine almost every day.
