I based myself here for a few days to mainly visit the Brief and Lunaganaga gardens. It is a small place, away from the beach but not so far. The property and grounds are beautiful. In the “Sri Lankan style’ with a historic Doctors house and newer buildings all with authentic furniture. Pool lovely. A highlight for me though was the food with Haiendra “Harry” going out of his way to educate me about Sri Lankan food, planning different and interesting meals and telling me about them and the cooking techniques. All expertly prepared by Amila. He also showed me around the garden pointing out all the species especially the edible one. I learnt a lot. Thanks.
We can’t speak highly enough of Nisala Arana as a place to stay and as a wedding venue. The location is quiet and beautiful with lots of birds and the occasional monkeys passing through. Most importantly the whole team from gardeners to managers are delightful and go out of their way to make the stay excellent. The food is delicious and highly recommended. All in all a 5* stay
This is a beautiful hotel without any ‘touristy feel’, rather homely but with impeccable service. My husband and I got married here and had the most amazing three night stay. The gardens are beautiful, the decor is sophisticated with a down to earth touch, the food was great and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Definitely a good choice for nature lovers looking for a smaller/private feel. Really appreciated the warm hospitality of the staff who went out of their way to make our occasion special!
I was staying at your beautiful place at the beginning of this November. I just wanted to send a message to say again how absolutely lovely the stay was. Everything was so wonderful and your brilliant team of people looked after us so exceptionally well. The food was really delicious, the garden was totally serene, the rooms were stunning and i can't stress enough how everyone working at Nisala Arana was so kind and caring and attended to our every need! Please pass on this message to everyone working there. I really hope to visit again! Warm wishes.
We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 children in the Mango suite. The suite is spacious and has three beds (2 twins). The property is big with a large garden, a pool, a poolhouse where dinner, breakfast is served! The service is amazing and the food is good (you can choose between Western and Sri Lanka food). Only things to improve would be the costs of the activities, because they are a bit high. Would definitely recommend the place!
