solid design hotel famous for their ocean view. As someone who frequents ICN airport, I found this hotel to be an excellent option (free shuttle that comes every 45 min) especially now that other options have gotten very expensive (looking at Grand Hyatt ICN or Paradise city). To that end, found the hotel to be pretty good choice. The room is somewhat small and basic but excellent for airport hotel. Unfortunately, the pools require addl payment but as a transit traveler, it's not the most essential perk. I think the price goes up a lot on weekend which isn't ideal but understandable given most people who stay there are locals for the view. overall, good hotel for my purpose and would stay here again.
The Hotel is great but this is more about the concierge that worked the morning shift on 30 Oct. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. The day prior a taxi driver had an issue processing my business credit card even though it worked before and after. The concierge witnesses this and helped with translation. The next day when I was taking a taxi to the airport that same concierge paid for my taxi without me knowing. I guess he didn't want me to have any issues. If you by chance read this thank you so much. The people of South Korea showed me nothing but kindness during my trip
In essence, a wonderful hotel: an important point is the proximity to the airport, transport from the airport to, beautiful nature and leisure activities. Some reviewers write that there are no restaurants outside the hotel. This is not true. There are dozens of first-class sea foods restaurants around the hotel. The disadvantage of the hotel is the lack of significant benefits for members of Elite Bonvoy
This is a very stylish hotel, clean Architecture - you have to like concrete though - with ecological touch. Great bar with very attentive service, even though very pricy! Somewhat indisposed receptionist at check-in, unfriendly. Very friendly staff at check-out.
It’s an airport hotel which advertises free shuttle, great restaurants, multiple pools including an infinity pool, etc. When I got to the pickup area at the airport, I found out that I had just missed the 5:30 shuttle and the next shuttle would be an HOUR later. Eventually got to the hotel to be checked in by someone who had zero personality - less than friendly. As it was dinner time, went to the one restaurant with a very limited menu. A hamburger and fries was US$25.00. If you wanted something more substantial you could get a steak or salmon for US$60. Service in the restaurant was also very so-so. No one was rude but no one made you feel as if they cared whether you were there or not. After dinner, I thought I would go check out the pool. You can imagine my surprise when I got to the entrance of the pool area and they told me I would need to pay US$20 (weekdays) or US$30 (weekends). I told them I just wanted to check out the pool area as I wasn’t wanting to use the pool at this time and I was told that I couldn’t even enter the area to take a look at it unless I paid. When I explained that I just wanted to look for a couple of minutes, the guy at the desk said, “I don’t care” and wouldn’t let me go. Unless you just have a thing for boutique hotels and don’t care about service, friendliness, and use of the amenities - stay somewhere else. I will never come back to this place again nor will I be anxious to try another Design Hotels. …
One night stay in Seoul in transit and picked the hotel with connections to Marriott Bonvoy. Shuttles run to and from both terminals 1 and 2 - be sure to find the info on their website as to times and the pick up locations from the terminal you are using. The lobby is modern. Check in was painless. The room (Deluxe double) was of a decent size. All power sockets are multi adaptors so there's no need to bring yours out. There's also a USB charging cord with different plugs to charge different devices - Micro USB, USB-C, Lightning. All very handy. The funky design of the place meant that the bed was squished into the far end of the room, which wasn't square. The bed was placed on a raised wooden platform and the light hanging from the ceiling got in the way if you were standing on the wooden platform. The room had ample amenities, the aircon worked well and the bed was comfortable. The bath even had a sachet of Dead Sea salt to use in the bath. I'd have no hesitation in staying here again. There also seemed to be many other offerings at the hotel which I didn't try, such as the eateries, vending machine and fitness area/pool.…
I was transiting through ICN and used this hotel as a layover stop. The Maglev is an easy and free train to use from the level just above arrival for Terminal 1. The maglev stop is located out the center walkway to the SE and is directly above the normal train station. It runs every 15 min, so easier than waiting for the shuttle bus. You get off at the Yongyu Station and it is maybe a 2 block walk to the hotel. My outbound flight was from Terminal 2, which the Maglev train doesn't run to, but the free Nest Hotel shuttle runs every hour and was very convenient. I've added a pic of the Maglev train schedule from the Yongyu station to Terminal 1. This time I had the breakfast buffet, which wasn't cheap (37,800 SKW or ~$32), but there was a very large selection. For me, it was more like brunch and I wasn't hungry again till dinner. The mountain view room overlooks the train station holding yard, but it wasn't noisy at all. On the return layover, my room was on the water view side and had a marvelous view of the sunrise. This is a nice hotel stay. The food is good, the bed is comfortable, and the room is quiet.…
To save you the pain I experienced trying to find out what the deal is with shuttles from the airport, here's a photo of the schedule. Short version: Terminal 2 exit arrivals and wait by the "NEST shuttle" sign at pickup location 6A. Departs ICN on the half hour 6:30 - 21:30. (Terminal 1 schedule is every 45 minutes starting 6:15 AM to 22:45) Generally nice hotel. Breakfast is a fancy brunch -- but not cheap. Rooms are fine. Gym has three running machines and a bike but NO elliptical (they should add one). Biggest issue is that while Marriott will sell you this room, Bonvoy Titanium status gets you nothing. Zip. Squat. Nada. Not even the breakfast discount coupon that everyone else seemed to have. (Come on -- that would kill them to offer as a courtesy.) Staff English is spotty depending upon who you get, and lead to communication issues that took some effort to resolve. So not my favorite, but they get points for solid rooms and a seamless airport transfer experience if you hit the departure time well.…
i arrived fairly tired and my first impression was that it looked a little like a power station as it appeared as an immense concrete structure from the front. Inside was very spacious with lots of exposed concrete. The hotel wishes to appear ultra modern and it is. very spacious room with an impressive view. Excellent food in both restaurants. Friendly staff.
Nest is on Marriott/Bonvoy's website, but it offers none of the usual amenities ie an Executive Lounge, free breakfast, welcome bonus etc. But it's relatively close to ICN, rooms are spacious and comfortable, and they have a free, albeit infrequent, airport shuttle (from T1, gate 14C, centre roadway). Note that breakfast does not start until 06h30, too late for flights before 10h00, given shuttle time and ICN's often long security lines.
