Danim is a small apartment packed with bunk beds, leaving virtually no space for bags, especially if you are the last guest in the room (I stayed in the 6-bed female dorm, with a very small window, and it was boiling in there). Yes this is one of the only backpackers, but you are far better off staying at one of the nice and clean guethouses in town for a similar price. I estimated almost 18 people slept in the tiny appartment on the night we were there (including someone on the living room sofa!). Partying did not stop until 3am, and there... More

Stayed one night and it was one too many. Filthy place and not worth the money. You pay 20$ and have to make ur bed with cloth that is dirty and too small for bed. Furniture, bathroom and kitchen are dirty and smelly,the door is open 24hr for anyone! Find another place to stay....

I did not care for this hostel whatsoever. While the staff was friendly, it seemed more just wanting to make friends/hang out then serve its customers. The hot water in the shower basically did not work while I was there (it did, but the pressure of the water decreased as you turned up the heat, to the point that the... More

I was not very impressed with this hostel. We got there about noon (hostel webside said you could check-in ealier then 1 if room was ready) and when we got there the staff was still sleeping in their room. Centrally located, just five minutes away from the metro station. Nice common areas. Tiny breakfast (only a cup of tea/coffee and a pair of pancakes). Extremely helpful staff. I had some problems with the reservation of a train ticket, and Sookie (one of the staff members) called Korail and solved it for me.

Our family recently stayed for 5 nights in Daegu as part of a two week long trip through South Korea. The staff of Danim Backpackers was great to us. Danim Backpackers is like a family offering you the possibility to spend an exceptionnal experience in Daegu with Korean, French, English and Japanese speaking staff. The staff members will be pleased to help and advise you during your stay in here. With a good atmosphere, you will feel at home with familly or friends. We have an active staff with a 25 year old average age with whom you won't be bored! We provide breakfast, free wifi, kitchen, washing machine, cable TV and computer for free. Danim has 3 facilities: (i) our original location with 6 bed mixed dorm and a 6 bed female dorm; (ii) a second location in historic Jingolmok alley as a female-only hostel with two dorm rooms of 4 beds and one private room; and, (iii) a separate private appartment for 2 to 4 people (with option for for up to 6 people with added mattress) All of them are situated less than 10 min by foot from downtown, few minutes away from subway line 1 et 2, and also to various bus lines. ... more   less
