We were there in May 2017 with two kids. Knowing there is no MRT/MTR transportation system in Jeju, the location of the hotel doesn't really matter but of course it has to be close to Jeju city center as we don't want to stay too far away from the airport. The location indeed worked quite well to different destinations, you can join the day tour and go either eastwards or westwards. The famous BBQ pork street is just right behind the hotel, and there is a small amusement playground opposite the hotel. Although the decoration in room is quite simple, we have no complaints staying there, the beds are quite comfy and big. The receptionists are obviously casual hipsters and very helpful.
Hotel location is very convenient and reception looked promising - casual hipster reception. However, the hotel itself takes a turn when you enter the corridors and the rooms itself! we stayed on the 6th floor for 3 nights for our trip in Jeju Island. As soon as we entered - the light switch and room key card holder was bent and squint on the wall; wallpaper was peeling off and there was lots of stains on the magnolia wallpaper itself around the room. The bathroom tiles had holes and chips. The shower itself was a walkin shower but with no shower screen in our room - meaning the toilet was soaking every time we showered - the room was provided with plastic slippers but we didn't even want to wear them. We walked over to CU convenience store across the hotels and got slippers for 3000KRW. The bed was solid and overall just uncomfortable. Apart from the location - there is nothing else good about the hotel. This is more like a motel or private roomed hostel.…
We ended up in this hotel after our hostel was overbooked, but the hostel owner arranged at no extra charge a room in this hotel for us. The location of this hotel is certainly very good. A stone-throw away from the promenade and the sea, very good restaurants and the lively center of this district (street markets, street performers, shopping etc) and a small amusement park (which we did not visit). We stayed for 2 nights in Jeju and wanted to do one of the famous Olle trails. We did trail1 (which was recommended to us for it's diversity and suitability as a one-day hike). Accessing the starting point is easy by bus from Jeju Bus terminal, which itself is only a short bus ride from the hotel. So this hotel served really well for our purpose as a central starting point. The staff was very friendly. I do not know if it was because of our status as 'hostel guests' but our room (though clean & comfy) was probably not the nicest one they had: view facing the wall of the next door building, it was fairly noisy and the room was midge infested, despite window net.…
My husband and I stayed at the Check Inn for 3 nights during our trip to Jeju. The location worked out great for all the places we wanted to travel. The room was very nice - simple and clean. We were on the ocean side, so we could see a little of the ocean, although the view wasn't great. One thing to be aware of - there is a little amusement park or something nearby, and at night you can hear the excited screaming, but I don't remember it going late at night, and it really didn't end up bothering us much at all.
since we booked a week on this. they upgraded our room to deluxe that was unexpected. convenient location & nice staff. commutation got no issue and room was cozy also wifi quite strong. near around easy to reach food street or shipping street etc... taxi to bus station also not so expensive. it also walking distance to jeju sqaure(i don't know how it called but just end of seafood street it has many local people strolling around. hotel price also acceptable but just one thing was bath room always wet. other was well enough
