Spending over 180 nights in a hotel is challenging. Finding a hotel that meets your needs is more of a challenge. The brand is important, but the Branch of the Brand is of greater importance. The feeling when you walk in; the desk attendants working very hard to remeber you from the prior week. Asking you how was your journey? Is there anything they can do to help? Sensing that you missed dinner due to travel issues and knowing to toss in an extra cookie. That sets them apart. Welcome to Hampton Inn Albany, Western Ave. This is one of a few in the city, I have tried the other Branches and decided that I would spend my time at this one. They checked all my boxes of what a successful branch is. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Hotel's Favorite
I've stayed at this Hampton Inn 2 years running now for an annual event and I've had a very good experience both times. I found the staff to be helpful, the rooms to be better than the price they ask for, and generally everything runs smoothly. Honestly it's an affordable gem if you are going to be in the area and I would highly recommend it. This past weekend was my second time at the hotel and I had a bit of an emergency. I was driving in a dirt lot the night before my stay and I had a tire warning on my dash. I had been doing a lot of driving for the trip and I hadn't filled my tires in a long while so I figured I just needed to use an air pump at a gas station. When I woke up the next morning the tire was completely flat. One of the guest service managers, Sheeva Beam, personally searched for local tire shops and gave me a hand written list of the best local places. She even checked when each one of them opened because it was early when I discovered the tire. She could have just said, "There are plenty of tire/mechanic places in the area," which is true, but instead she went the extra mile of giving me a list, which I appreciate. Don't get me wrong, it's not the perfect hotel. I'm not a huge fan of the pillows they use on their beds, though they did have 2 types, one that was more like down and one that was more like a fiber filled pillow and the down one worked ok for me. This is a matter of preference for each guest. Also, their breakfast is ok. It's nothing to write home about. It's bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, and a hot bar for things like sausage etc. They have other strengths to balance the scales though. They have good parking, excellent helpful staff, cookies in the lobby, and a 24/7 free tea/coffee bar. All in all, if you are looking for great hotel witch nice/helpful staff, and some great amenities that is very reasonably priced, look no further.

Good but not great. Check in was smooth. The room was clean but not overly comfortable. It did not have the usual soft pillowy Hampton Inns bed. The mattress was firm and uncomfortable and the linens were thin. Again, nothing wrong but not the usual at a Hampton Inn. Good pillows. Staff was pleasant but not friendly. Good breakfast with many options. It’s a good option for Albany but it was a little less comfortable than I anticipated.

Room Tip: Parking setup is odd. Don’t expect to be near the front. It’s made to be side door accessible.

We stay here several times a year when visiting family. Clean; friendly staff; free parking; good free breakfast with lots of options (including gluten-free on request); well-equipped workout room; nice pool. Very close to Stuyvesant Plaza and Crossgates Mall if that's of interest.

I never write reviews but after booking, and then reading the recent reviews, I thought I should. The hotel was very clean, rooms were quiet, the breakfast had more options than normal and the staff was friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel.

Visited friend staying at this hotel who has been working in the area for 3 months. Nice hotel but terrible housekeeping. They do not change beds unless he asks and they didn’t clean the bathroom or vacuum for two months. Two of his coworkers moved to another hotel and he is considering it! If you stay here please discuss room cleaning policies!

Older property that has been updated but still has issues, most notably mold near the windows and in the bathroom. (My sinuses clogged up within an hour of arrival.) Service was indifferent and aspects of housekeeping left a lot to be desired. The business center has no computers for guest use, the halls reek of chlorine from the pool, and the HVAC is largely unresponsive to the wall controls. Definitely not up to Hampton Inn standards nor my previous experience with the chain. Would not stay here again if I had to be in Albany in the future.

We stayed here Sept 2023 for two nights while looking at local colleges. The door to our room was filthy with hand prints (clearly not cleaned in a long time). Our room it smelled like strong deodorizer. One of the beds was messy as if someone had been laying on top of it. I pulled back the blanket and found the sheets rumpled with yellow stains and dark hair on the sheets. I called the front desk for a room change, but they were full and couldn't accommodate me. The front desk person came up and changed the bedding (no apology, just came and changed the bedding). The next day we left the room early and returned around 5pm to find the room wasn't cleaned, beds not made. Again, we called the front desk and they indicated they'd send someone upstairs. A lovely person came up with a pile of clean towels, and bedding. I also had requested a new blanket since there was a sticky substance on that too. I told the woman we were going to the gym and confirmed she didn't need us there to take care of the room. When we returned from the gym, the pile of bedding and linens was sitting on the counter. I guess she assumed we would be making the beds, changing the towels and no one was cleaning the room. I would never stay here again. There are so many options in the area, that the price and condition of this hotel is NOT worth it.

on our way to Cooperstown for a baseball tournament. Nathan greeted us at check in. Very pleasant and recognized us as Hilton Honors Members. LOVE the warm chocolate chip cookies!!!! Very nice touch that we look forward to every time. As we were out to dinner, Tanisha texted us to see how our stay was going. We stay at many Hilton properties and have not experienced this before. A well appreciated gesture. It was at this time that we informed her that all was fine, except for a couple of housekeeping issues- the bed skirt was pretty stained and torn in multiple areas and some of the linens had holes in them and were worn out in areas. Not sure why housekeeping thought it was ok to continue using these linens and not change the soiled bed skirt. Tanisha asked if we wanted them changed out, we appreciated her time and concern. Our room was clean and had all the amenities that we needed for our stay. We did not use the pool. The workout room treadmill was alright. We slept in and missed breakfast, but I'm sure it was good:) The property was well maintained.

Wonderful stay as we prepared to drop off our student at UAlbany. Would definitely stay there again. Clean, comfortable, good value for the money, and friendly staff. Easy drive to campus and not too noisy. What else could you ask for?!
