When I first arrived, I quickly ran to their backyard, where the Erie Canal is, and the bridge and watched with fascination as the bridge when straight up to let the tall boat pass through, and then straight down! The owners are historic buffs and give us a tour of the house and its life along the canal, as well...

Had a wonderful stay at the Adams Basin inn. We fulfilled our dream of kayaking on the Erie Canal and a special bonus was all the history Dave shared with us. Dave and Pat are welcoming and interesting hosts. The 2 nights at their B and B was the highlight of our road trip. We will be back. Thank you!

Located on the banks of Erie Canal, adjacent to a lifting bridge, this BnB has 200 years of history, and is very tastefully decorated, and lovingly run by Pat and her husband Dave. It was like coming back home for us in the way that Pat greeted us with a warm smile (and some "fresh out of the oven" home-baked...

This B&B is an incredibly historic and lovely building. We stayed in the Nichols Room, The hosts, Pat and Dave, were very gracious and they both had a great deal of knowledge of the building's history. This B&B sits right by the Erie Canal towpath, allowing for long walks along the canal. The entire building is beautifully restored in exacting...

I don't how anyone could give this place a poor review! The ONLY complaint that we had after a 3 night stay was that we didn't want to leave!!! This place (and the owners) are fabulous. The food portions were large. There was a great variety every morning (and yes we were offered seconds of the delicious French Toast) The...

Adams Basin Inn, New York May-June 2015 This is a very beautiful bed and breakfast with a long and interesting history. Pat and Dave Haines make a great team. Pat keeps up with the bedrooms and the breakfast, and David keeps up with the history of the Erie Canal and entertaining guests with a bit of history over breakfast every...

What we had was good, a fresh fruit cup of adequate proportions, two small (3" by 4") by 5/8"" thick slices of french toast, and two pieces of impecably prepared link sausage one measuring 1/2 inch diameter by 3/4 inch long and the other 1/2 inch diameter by 1/2inch long, and that was it. No indication of offering a third...

I recently spent 4 days completing a "credit card" bike tour across NY State following the Erie Canal bike trail. I was planning on riding about 50 miles a day, and researched accommodations in the Spencerport area as a convenient locale for night 2 on this journey. Favorable reviews of the Adams Basin Inn B&B led me to call for...

This is probably the best B&B we have enjoyed. It is in a beautiful setting right along the Erie Canal between Spencerport and Brockport. The home dates from the early 1800's and has been wonderfully restored, complete with antiques and well--decorated rooms. It was clean and quiet, with modern conveniences, but the "charm" of the place and our hosts, Pat...

I had a week off in the winter and wanted to go somewhere uncrowded - why not travel the route of the Erie Canal? Many attractions are closed - as is the canal itself - but there are interesting things to visit along the way. A highlight was this bed and breakfast right next to the Erie Canal. The owners...
