This is a hybrid establishment between a guesthouse and a hotel, there is no one at reception. A young woman will wait for you at your arrival time to give you the keys to the establishment and your room. Then we didn't see anyone anymore but there is a wide variety of tea and infusions and instant coffee with hot water at the self-service reception. No possibility of having breakfast but we are located in the city center. So no problem taking it anywhere. The room was huge with a large jacuzzi for 2 and a huge private panoramic terrace adjoining our room, with deck chairs, table and chairs, the bedding was of excellent quality, and they did not forget to put in blinds blackouts on all windows and bay windows including those overlooking the jacuzzi. The only downside was the very noisy fridge that we had to unplug.

I couldn't say enough about just how beautiful the hotel and its grounds were, and the room, the view of Har Meron from our porch... The hotel is in the old Tzfat gorgeous style, but amenities are modernized to be comfortable for the 21st century visitor. It was within short walking distance of everything we wanted to do and see in the Old City. Devorah was available whenever we needed advice or something done, friendly and helpful, Baruch also. They were extremely responsive. We were completely comfortable, the heat worked well, the bed was perfectly comfortable, the wifi worked well, there were all the Shabbos amenities such as plata and timer, and Devorah gave us a great suggestion where to buy food for Shabbos. The atmosphere was relaxed and I wish we could have stayed for longer.

This hotel will keep scoring 4 star reviews because of the terribly confusing location.
When s/o books a reservation, the hotel staff should reach out to them and provide clear instructions on how to reach the hotel. Safed is a really confusing place to drive if you are a tourist, and the fact that they kept calling us to find out where we were already without being very helpful started off our visit with a bad taste.
First of all - realize that there is no staff there and therefore no one on site to help out if you need anything.
Secondly - the WiFi only works in the lobby - how crazy is that!
Thirdly - the hotel is cheap on the most random things. To us, a comfortable visit means plenty of towels and extra pillows. Two towels and two pillows just doesn't feel very generous. No shampoo, and six bottles of conditioner... hmm....
Otherwise, the rooms are absolutely beautiful - exactly what the pictures show. It's incredibly CLEAN, which is really important to us, without an ounce of dust or a hair anywhere (we checked!). Plenty of room to unpack your things and settle in comfortably. The porch was great with really nice view.
Came with a baby and they provided a crib - that was perfect. I see that they overcharged us a bit - will inquire on why that is.

Had made plans to stay in another hotel, but when they couldn't accommodate us, the manager made some calls and got us in here. Should have gone here first. The rooms are spacious and charming. Chagit the manager stayed later than usual since we were switching from another hotel. We needed rooms on the first floor since we were traveling with elderly parents. She even put a patio chair in the shower for them, since they didn't have one for a handicapped person. Fave us a bottle of wine and dried fruit on check in which was nice. Went overboard to make our stay pleasant. Arranged for breakfast next door at the Beit Yoseph Cafe since they couldn't walk that far. Next time in Tsafet, we are staying here as our first choice. You need to be able to walk 4 steps to get into the hotel, but then everything is on one level. Parking is around the corner in a public space, but it's a climb back up to the hotel. Don't need the car once you are there, because there are plenty of taxis, and places to walk.

We reserved a "Family Suite" at this property via Bookings.com. There were many issues with this arrangement: the hotel employee was surly and dishonest as she attempted to charge more than contracted rate in shekels. The room was not at all as advertised. In no way was it large enough to adequately accommodate 4 adults. The pull out bed was barely big enough for one person, let alone two. We then needed an additional room, but the hotel manager was screaming at us denying responsibility and not very helpful. She wouldn't give us our money back and yelled that it was our fault that we weren't happy with the room. Finally, she allowed for an additional room for another fee. We acquiesced seeing that there was little recourse. The advertised WIFI did not work in one of the rooms. There was no one working the front desk. For the price we paid, the rooms should have been made up daily. We had the lady's number in case we had a question, but her demeanor was not at all professional. For the price, this place is totally not worth it. Great location but dismal experience.
If you posses no Hebrew at all, avoid like the plague as even with the Hebrew speaking Israeli members of our party, it didn't make things any easier.

I keep saying this about our recent trip to Israel, but this is not necessarily a place for non-Israelis, so a bit of Hebrew helps. It's not the easiest to find--it's behind a private home with the street address 107, and we had to search for it for a bit. We had the Olive room, a huge room with a balcony and a jacuzzi (!). Very comfortable bed, lovely view of the mountains around. Spotlessly clean. A short walk up the alley behind the hotel to the Ruth Rimonim Hotel for our buffet breakfast (included). We also went there for a quick buffet dinner--didn't see many restaurants around the artists area aside from falafel stands. We were the only guests in the hotel that night, and the desk keeper trusted us with the key to the entire place. Also, she leaves after 6 pm, so if you're checking in late, make special arrangements. No elevators--but only two floors, and the lack of elevators is more than made up for by the beautiful 2nd floor balcony views.

We spent two night here in the beginning of January 2013. In general we were quite happy about it. Shortly:
Pros: *Absolutely beautiful. The design is astonishing. It is really, really wonderful both in the hotel itself and the rooms. Rooms are big, beautiful and very nicely decorated. They also left us a carton of milk and carton of juice in the fridge, additionally to the standard tea and coffee, which was nice.
*Wonderful location and gorgeous views. Really, just the views from the room are worth it. And the hotel is located in the Old City, which is quite convenient.
Cons (or why we give them 4 stars and not 5):
*No hotel parking. We found parking quite easily, but still.
*The breakfast is served in a different hotel. It's not far, and it's not a bother if the weather is nice; but if it was raining, I would find very annoying. I like my mornings on a vacation easy. I'd rather a slightly worse off breakfast, but in the hotel itself.
*The reception is not manned for quite long periods of time. Let's say that when we went to breakfast, and came back, there was no one there. Same in the evening. You surely can call them, but it is much less convenient than just talking to them directly.
*The room is not cleaned during your stay, only between guests. We didn't find it to be a problem, but we know some people would.

Our experience here was terrible. The place looks great online but up close and personal it does not measure up. We were met by the "receptionist" who immediately asked us to pay for three nights without even taking us to see the room. The hotel was empty and as soon as we paid she left, only offering us directions to our room, which was down a dimly lit hall, up some dimly lit stairs. The room itself was not lit well (do you sense a them here?). The wifi did not work in the room, the speaker on the TV had a terrible buzz and we could not understand it. Worst of all was a plastic sheet underneath the regular sheets which was extremely uncomfortable. Light bulbs were missing; there is no towel rack in the bathroom. We left the next morning (no one was in the hotel) and found a more suitable hotel. I called later on to say we had left and would appreciate a refund for the two remaining nights. I was told this was impossible. I argued with the woman and she said she would give a refund if we could arrive at the hotel between 4-6PM that evening. We were unable to do so and now they outright refuse to give us a refund.

Our visit started with receptionist on the phone pressuring us to arrive by 6. When we arrived, she was brusk, gave us the key and sent us upstairs with all our luggage as she was out the door. The room itself had no working wifi, the TV was broken, No soap dish in the shower and no towel rack for our towels. The bed had a plastic cover over the mattress which made noise every time we moved. We paid for 3 nights up front but left after the first night. When we asked for a refund for the 2 nights, we received a lot of resistance. We are now in dispute over the charges with the help of our credit card company. We moved down the street to the wonderful Rimonim!

Booked only one night to stay and loved it. Our room was on the second floor. It was spacious and clean. We loved the bad that was very comfortable. Bathroom was big and clean and over all it was a very nice place. We received a small bottle of wine and some fruit and felt very welcome. Also had a wonderful little balcony with a great view. The great thing about the hotel is it is in a great location. Right in the center of town and it is very easy to reach other places (like the market or the galleries). Safed is not an easy town as it is all up and down the city but we loved it and enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is at hotel "Rimonim" right next and is a very good buffet breakfast. We recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a very pleasant clean and small hotel.
