Meti... just arrived, relaxing, writing, enjoying the beautiful home-like atmosphere here. She's Ethiopian-American, and ended up in Jericho by pure chance. We've been sitting here talking about everything from my hometown to the world about life joy and pain, celebrating the small miracles of accidental encounters and rich stories... Welcome to Palestine and to Sami's

I arrived at Sami Hostel in the middle of the night without having made a reservation. I was welcomed with a smile, a room, and a nice cup of tea:) the hostel is run by a really welcoming family; Saleh and his father helped me organising my stay in Jericho, giving me great tips and making me experiencing great food... We have been Jericho a couple of times, and always stay in this friendly hostel because it's not only the best choice for your budget, but also they are super-kind and attentive. When we visit Jericho, we would stay this place again definitely.

Sami hostel is a great place to set up base to travel around the west bank. Sami and his son Saleh welcome everyone and you become a part of the Family. I celebrated iftar with them many times to delicious food and great concersation. They will take around town at night going to different cafes for shisha, cards and tea.... More

Less than half a mile northwest of Jericho is a large spring of water called Ein es-Sultan meaning "The Sultan's Spring" in Arabic. It is the largest spring in the lower Jordan Valley and unlike many springs in the area, the water always flows without failing. The water forms a pool which is used for irrigation. In Bible times, there... More

Originally we hadn't planned to stay in Jericho but when we had found Sami's youth Hostel we didn't want to leave anymore and stayed for 4 nights. We were welcomed by Sami and his family with open arms and a lot of hospitality. So the hostel was not simply a place to stay but became a home for us and... More

Sami always helped us to organise our trips for example to the monastery of St Georg or the dead see. We had a great time... More

The structure is like the one of an Hotel: a big and comfortable hall at the entrance; clean rooms (max 2-3 persons); big and always clean bathrooms; wonderful coffee and mint tea; Very easy to be reached by the very frequent Bus... kind management and good price for backpackers, you might experience the nightlife with yummy food and cafes where man are smoking and playing games for fun, however you will not find much prettiness or charming comfort, but I guess people visiting the west-bank are not expecting this. its a great place to experience the real Palestine ;)

Stayed two nights at sami's hostel. He's a very friendly host offering good coffee all the time. The neighbors are very kind too and excited about talking to tourists. Can highly recommend staying in the beautiful town of Jericho which is not yet flooded by tourists.
