Recently stayed at The Jaffa on 10/28-31. First timer and had an overall positive experience at the new property. Check in was smooth as expected and facilities were top notch; including the gym and spa. However, what really stood out was the customer service on behalf of the staff. I had breakfast on site in the restaurant and the food quality and options were excellent. The staff was very warm and welcoming, and were happy to get anything you needed. I was in need of ketchup and “the ketchup guy” as the staff and I jokingly called him, went out of his way into the kitchen to get it. Tasha was our server and greeted us with a smile and water, and asked if there was anything we needed. She was extremely pleasant to talk to and seemed to have a very positive attitude. I enjoyed having a conversation with her, as she seemed very knowledgable about the history of the property and the surrounding area. It was also nice to exchange pleasantries of where we were both from and places recommended to travel in our home countries. It’s unfortunate there isn’t more staff like her in this industry in Tel Aviv, as a simple conversation can really go a long way with the customer to feel welcomed. But, I suppose this is the difference between America and Europe/Middle East when it comes to customer service. I would stay at this hotel again and if given the chance, I would request Tasha and Ketchup Guy as my hosts.

Stunning renovation of an old hospital. Rooms are small but beautifully appointed. The food is excellent and you can walk to the city. Highly recommend this hotel. The service is impeccable and we will be back tomorrow. I can’t wait to get there!!

Setting of the terrace is perfect, coffee in all forms perfectly served. We loved the setting and the offer, but for this kind of high level hotel there should be a larger selection of bread. It is a perfect spot to enjoy the quiet morning mood until 11:00. In low season no reservation is necessary.

I stayed at The Jaffa for one night in October. Overall, I concur with most of the other reviews -- a nice, new modern looking hotel. The staff do seem genuinely interested in ensuring their guests have a good stay. The rooms are also nice and modern -- and the area is very quaint. My issue -- incorrect billing. In my case, the "hold" that they put on my room when I checked in ended up being charged (and my stay was on points so I didn't incur any fees). Also, they apparently charged me for breakfast, which I didn't even use -- and even if I did it would have been free as part of my Elite benefits. The hotel suggested that when I checked in I chose to get the points vs breakfast -- which isn't true -- and the proof is that my Marriott account didn't accrue the points for passing up on the breakfast. I followed up a few times with the hotel -- called once, then emailed both the GM and another manager. They responded saying they'd look into it but didn't respond thereafter. I actually don't even care if they made a mistake, admitted it, and corrected the billing -- the issue for me is that true customer service is a seamless experience before, during and **after** a guest stays at a hotel. In this case, in my opinion, the Jaffa fails on the **after** part of the stay experience. I've had to open a dispute with Amex to get the charges reversed which should be entirely unnecessary given that this was clearly an innocent error on the part of the hotel. But, it wastes my (and their) time.....

This hotel has only been open for a year and is in the heart of Old City Jaffa. It oozes luxury and comfort right from the check in process to check out. The hotel smells lovely and the rooms are huge. We enjoyed our stay here and the convenience of being able to walk to the flea market and the whole of Old City.
