The hotel is situated on the beautiful grounds of a kibbutz botanical gardens. The regular rooms are dated and small, but the newer more expensive rooms are lovely, spacious and have nice views of the mountains. The staff are courteous but not very customer service oriented.

You cannot walk to the beach. They have a shuttle bus to ein gedi spa every hour approx. Free transport and entry for hotel guests - pick up the pass from the hotel. From inside the spa, take another llittle free truck (or walk) another kilometre or so and you’ll be at the Dead Sea beach.

I highly recommend renting a car for touring the Dead Sea area, including for trips to Masada. It will give you a lot of flexibility, particularly in the early hours if you want to go on early morning hikes (which is a must if you are there in the hotter months). Sunrise at Masada is beautiful and a unique experience. Keep in mind the time of year you are there as, at most times of year, only way up before sunrise is by hiking (which is quite nice if you are able).

No, the Hotel is separate from the Kibbutz - right next to each other. I don't know about the Guesthouse, but it must be on the kibbutz grounds.
