#1 of 4 hotels in Acre
2021 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Nestled in the picturesque narrow lanes of Acre, the Efendi Hotel overlooks the historic city walls and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea beyond. The unique structure of this hotel combines two ancient houses that have hundreds of years of history stored within their walls. These houses were meticulously reconstructed and merged into one building before being converted into a boutique hotel.. Complex preservation and restoration work over a period of eight years gave birth to a gorgeous, breathtaking pearl that was truly a labor of love. Thought was invested in each and every detail of the preservation work, which was performed under the supervision of the Antiquities Authority. Artisans were specially flown in from Italy in order to undertake this delicate work, as well as the restoration of the beautiful ceilings. All rooms in the hotel are furnished and equipped to the highest standards, and each room has its own unique character and style. Some rooms' ceilings feature illustrations, while others are made from preserved wood. Most of the windows offer sea views, while others look out over the ancient city of Acre and the scenic mountains of the Western Galilee.

Wonderful hotel, view, architecture, staff, and OMG the breakfast. Hands down the best, most thought out breakfast I've had in Israel - and that is saying a lot! Speaking of food, you have to go to Uri Buri restaurant. Just trust me. The hammam treatment was a cherry on top, and will definitely help you to feel like Ottoman royalty when you visit. Yes - the call to prayer woke me up at 4am, but if you view it as part of the experience, it's all good. If noise bothers you, bring your own ear plugs, I didn't see any in the room. The parking nearby was limited and difficult, by the staff's help made up for it - and they are working on a parking solution. It's difficult to find parking in an ancient, preserved city, apparently ;) This is a must-stay. I will be back!

We spent a short weekend at the hotel. Everything was perfectly arranged- from parking logistics to restaurant reservations. The staff at the reception was extremely friendly, polite and attentive. The breakfast was superb and the overall facilities (a beautiful rooftop balcony, the spa) though modest, are lovely. The hotel has a perfect location in the old part of Acre and everything is within walking distance. For a short, relaxing, vacation- this is the place.

The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are big and spoiling. And it feels as if you’re staying there alone since it’s very quiet and boutique. You can see the sea outside the the old city wall and the hotel is located 300m from the busy and authentic old city market.
