During our honeymoon, we spent nearly a month on the island of Bali, and only four nights at Tugu in Lombok. However, we both wish it was the other way around. Lombok is rarely talked about and what it is it’s the poor cousin to Bali. However, we found more authentic Bali in Lombok than we did in Bali. To begin with valleys, beaches are terrible and overcrowded. The beaches in Lombok is how you dream about and thought the beaches would be like in Bali. Remote, and crowded, and tropical. Additionally, the roadways are insane, crowded with motorcycles in Bali, even making it difficult to cross the street in any of Bali’s cities or villages. Lombok, in contrast, has no traffic, and has a very rural feeling. You would feel safe, riding a scooter, or a bicycle on its roadways here. The hotel itself has by far the best service. The property consists of primarily villas that have the bathroom outdoors in the private court, yard. It’s very romantic and traditional Balinese style, the villas are generous size, and what really impressed us is that everyone from the housekeeping to the waiters to the receptionist know, your name and greet you With your name whenever they approach. This is impeccable service. The style of the architecture is traditional, and very warm and relaxing. The food is something you’ll remember for your entire life. they had our names on the placemats every day that we were here drawn and painted onto a leaf, making it a very authentic experience so much love pouring out of the staff , They have a teatime between four and six Witten what makes this unusual they will bring your tea and snacks out to you in your beach chairs so you don’t even have to go into the restaurant. This is so deluxe and luxurious feeling. They have other amenities like kayaks, and paddle boards that are offered to guests for free the beaches here are private and deserted. just being here is a healing and rejuvenating experience. It’s a wellness center without officially being one. There is traditional artwork and sculptures throughout the property. It’s a very large property and there’s so much to see. You’ll love it…
We stayed at Hotel Tugu after reading great reviews. Our room was upgraded to bhagvad Gita and a beautiful experience starts as you step into report. Hotel staff are very attentive and take care of each and every requirement of the clients. We had a private dining experience on beach and loved the food throughout out stay. Health menu on breakfast every morning is a refreshing feeling. Hotel rooms are nice and clean, we had bit of Issue initially with bugs but Hotel staff were proactive in taking care of it each and every time. Hotels reef isn't as good for snorkeling due to lower depths however if your up for swim can go a bit further where reef gets interesting. Only disappointment during our stay was mosque in the vicinity which would start their speakers couple of off times in day.…
We used to live in Indonesia, Lombok was our favorite short trip travel spot and Hotel Tugu was our favorite property. We had not been back in over 10 years and had such fond memories but were worried the memory might be better than the reality. Upon arrival and soaking in our private pool in the Sanghyang Pool Villa we realized reality was better than we remembered. Too many positive things to cover but suffice to say this is at the top end of comfort and service. Our villa was a haven we rarely left other than meals and to stretch our legs and enjoy the rest of the stunning features of the property. The sunset cruise was relaxing, spa day was rejuvenating and general atmosphere was calm and luxurious.
Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, we truly felt like we were part of the Tugu family. The facilities are breathtakingly beautiful and with such special details. The beach is so calm, it’s like having a private beach in your door step. The food was delicious, and we went on a couple of good trips that the staff helped us plan. Our small kids loved the big grass areas, the pool, the calm beach and the pool. No doubt one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Really good value considering the high level!
We visited three resorts in the region, and Tugo was by far the best of the three. We cane during low season in December so the resort was quiet, but it’s still had plenty of atmosphere and the staff were very special on all levels. The food was delicious and generous and the spaces were unusual and stunning. The interior and exterior design and landscaping was a feast to the eyes. We will definitely be coming back in the future even though it’s a long treck from London.
We came to Bali 12 years ago on our honeymoon to the sister property, Hotel Tugu Bali. We fulfilled a dream to bring back our children and to visit Lombok for the first time recently, and cannot recommend this gem of a property highly enough. The accommodations surpassed any expectations we had, and upon arrival we were delighted at every turn. The unspoiled paradise of Sire Beach upon which Hotel Tugu Lombok is perched is unmatched and harmonizes with the breathtaking beauty of the grounds. We loved exploring and walking around, being enchanted at every turn to have the honor of stepping back into the history of Lombok preserved by the unique antique collections on display within temples, buildings and architecture straight out of an Indonesian dream. The feeling of connectedness to the spirit of Lombok permeates the air and ensures that you feel the authenticity of this truly expansive corner of the world. During our entire stay we were treated with genuine hospitality and warmth, and were grateful to get to know the staff through continued authentic interactions. The feeling of spirituality that envelops you as you walk into your accommodations, around the property, and with every interaction you are afforded with the local community and staff at Hotel Tugu Lombok invites you to welcome Lombok deeper into your heart. It was unlike any other property we have ever experienced, and it is my intention that these words will convey a piece of what only a visit to Hotel Tugu Lombok can do for your soul. The food was phenomenal and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on the beach as well as dinners in the stunning lobby and also on the beach. The invitation to surrender to the beauty and depth of history, culture, tradition, sense of spirituality and the awaiting hospitality of the Lombok community, will leave your life will be forever enhanced. We will forever send aloha from our island home to the exquisite island of Lombok and Hotel Tugu Lombok who welcomed us and treated us as cherished family throughout our time there. The hotel is extremely family friendly- as a Mom and Pediatrician, it was such a delight to see our children enjoy themselves immensely and be welcomed with such enthusiasm. Hotel Tugu Lombok is also committed to the local community, serving as a space in which to provide language lessons to interested school-aged children. We had the honor of getting to join in on a school session which was a highlight for us! This is accomplished amidst the undeniable feeling of serenity and solace and a space in which to unwind, disconnect and reconnect to yourself. There is such an air of reverence for all living things and for the guests who are immediately welcomed as a beloved extension of the community upon arrival. It is an absolute honor to wholeheartedly recommend this property that is truly a sight to behold + experience and can only be appreciated to its full degree by a trip from wherever you happen to live in this amazing world.…
Among many hotels I've visited in my extensive world travels, this one remains in my top 5 all time best. For so many reasons its uniquely pleasant including the amazing staff, the grounds, the rooms, the unique decor and ways in which they adorn the place.
exceptional hotel, great service, lovely people, very good food and perfect position great golf course nearby too. Well worth going to, recommend highly. tonnes to do, from snorkeling to great food on and off site
For us, the hotel was definitely a paradise: on the long, pristine white beach, we were mostly alone with the few hotel guests. As in all Tugu hotels, the furnishings consisted of antiques, which may not suit everyone's taste, but were very interesting for us. Our Bhagavat Gita suite was simple but adequately furnished. The outdoor shower in the morning was really fun and the small pool was also delightful after a dip in the sea. The staff, as in other Tugu hotels, catered to our every need before we could express it. We had forgotten our tablet on the plane. The hotel called the airline and picked up the tablet from the airport. With Budi, with whom we had also done the airport transfers, we went on an excursion by car that lasted several hours and Budi proved to be a very knowledgeable guide who was able to give us many interesting details about Lombok. A snorkeling trip to the Gili Islands was a highlight with dozens of turtles near the islands. For our anniversary, a romantic dinner was organized on the beach, lovingly arranged and decorated on a bamboo bed, even a bonfire lit up the secluded beach. Afterwards we found the way to our room as well as the room itself decorated with very many candles and flowers. Every day and without prompting, two sun loungers were prepared for us on the beach and decorated with quite a few flower arrangements. The daily tea hour in the afternoon, sometimes in the restaurant and sometimes directly on the beach, offered very tasty snacks, as all meals were outstanding. When we asked for mango and passion fruit in the morning, these fruits were brought to our table every day without being asked. Conclusion: A wonderful island and a wonderful hotel.…
Where to start... We have been to Indonesia many times before, but this was our first time in Lombok. A beautiful island that is still pleasantly quiet compared to Bali. We were really looking forward to our stay at TUGU and then our expectations were still exceeded. From the first second (everyone got a welcome coconut) to our last evening with a surprise dinner on the beach with campfire and fireworks, we enjoyed our time so much. The whole TUGU team is infinitely friendly, accommodating and especially our three small children were more than welcome and even their every wish was read from their lips (lots of biscuits and koi fishes feeding). The white sandy beach was perfect and I could enjoy snorkelling every day followed by afternoon coffee on the beach. We will definitely be back, as Tugu perfectly combines Indonesian culture, luxury, privacy, delicious food and the unsurpassed friendliness of the staff.…
