We visited and stayed at Murex Dive Resorts Manado before and after diving in Raja Ampat. We are fans of North Sulawesi for its diving variety and we chose Murex by recommendation from friends. We were not disappointed. The various teams, catering, lodging, restaurants, diving, administration, all make sure you are welcome and that you have been there for ages. Food is amazing, lodging is clean and confortable, the spa service is good. The team also helped us with some administration issues we had. It was comforting to be in good hands. We went there for the diving, and although we dove before extensively in Lambeh, Manado Bay surprised us by the fauna and flora available. From Manado resort, they reach Bunaken diving sites. Next time, we will ensure to visit the Bangka resort. The dive team is well organised and the operation from the boat is confortable. Our guides recorded and provided us with the critters seen after each dive which helped if you want to log the wonders you see. Thank you all at the Murex Dive Centers for making the start and the end of our diving trip fabulous.

It’s only a short ride from the airport but you feel isolated from the world. The approach had me concerned because we drove through a vacant lot and walked across a questionable bridge to get to the resort but my concerns were quickly alleviated when they gave us a tour of the resort. We often ate meals outside and our every need was attended to by staff who made us feel like royalty!! Betzy always made sure we were happy and care free. The rooms could use some small upgrades like a better toilet seat but I think that’s in the works. The A/C worked very well!!!

We (German family) spent our Christmas vacation in North Sulawesi. Our first stay was at Murex Manado. From the first day we felt comfortable. The rooms were very clean and spacious (even with two extra beds for the kids). In the whole complex the children had enough possibilities to be outdoors. From the breakfast table we had a wonderful view to the Bunaken. All staff were extremely guest friendly and always willing to help or to have a chitchat. After Murex Manado we went to Murex Bangka (about 1.5 hours drive + about 20 minutes boat ride). Arrived on the island, the dream continued: Cottages (again clean and spacious) right on the turquoise beach, coral reefs direct in front of the island with a colorful underwater world, lots of possibilities for snorkeling and kayaking; an incredible hospitality from ALL the staff. The dives were fantastic. The individual dive sites could be reached within a maximum of 10 minutes by boat. We also went to the Bunaken for diving/snorkeling – it`s an incredible beautiful underwater world. In this vacation there was only one point of criticism: breakfast, lunch and dinner, all damn delicious but unfortunately, each time too much for us four.

My husband and I arrived in Manado after a long day of flying and leaving our liveaboard diving trip. We were met by Donbo from Murex who waited for us as our luggage did not make it. He assisted us with the Garuda representative to get our luggage to the resort. Donbo was so helpful as I was getting sick and he stopped at a pharmacy to let me get meds. He assisted my husband in getting the right meds for me. He went out of his way to assist two tired travelers.
The resort is wonderful and welcoming. Our luggage was at our room by 7am so we could dive. The staff was so helpful. At our meals staff ate with us which gave us a great opportunity to know them as well and learn about the area.
We had a fantastic dive guide in Hanny. He showed us sea animals we had not seen before on this trip. Basher (sp?) and Hanny on our dive guides to Bunaken, showed us more incredible sea life and 33 turtles. They are both awesome dive guides.
We were fortunate to meet the owner Danny and his family. The Passport to Paradise is a great opportunity to see three very different types of diving. Danny implemented a great idea for us divers and snorkelers. The staff at Manado were friendly and helpful. We appreciate the assistance from Rei, Pim, Jeane, Hanny, Basher, Rifanldo, Sharon--love my turtle socks, and all the other staff who I can't remember all of their names. We definitely will be back again. Thanks for a great start on this last leg of our adventure.

We just recently spent 4 nights at Murex Manado and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were attentive to our needs and friendly and polite. The food was tasty and although rice featured a lot there was always a good range of variety to go with this.
The diving was exceptional and the dive staff and dive boat were great for this purpose. We attempted a Black Water Dive but it did turn into a bit of a mess due to strong current - we were refunded for the dive and the dive guide was happy to set up another night dive at another time.
The grounds of the location are fantastic but the accommodation is probably in need of a little update hence the 4 stars and not the 5 stars so hopefully, this occurs in the not too distant future.
All in all our stay was great and we would return again.

Wonderful resort with an outstanding staff! Our family dive trip was created with all our needs taken into consideration and the results were fantastic. We had an amazing week that included multiple dives, snorkeling, Minahasa highland tour, kayaking, enjoying the beautiful garden like atmosphere, and relaxing by the beautiful pool. The meals were all delicious and we loved eating outdoors while enjoying the breezes and sunsets.
The dive teams were extremely knowledgeable, competent, and friendly. The overall staff was very helpful, fun, and professional.
We couldn't have asked for more from our trip and the entire experience. 100% recommend this resort!

This place is an absolute treasure. I almost don't want to write an amazing review because I want to keep it all to myself :)
Every single member of the team was genuine and welcoming and we loved spending time with them as well as taking in everything the location had to offer.
It is primarily a dive resort so if you are not a diver/snorkeller then this may not be the place for you but if you are either of these things then you will experience an underwater adventure that few places in the world can rival. The sheer number of sea turtles alone is breathtaking, not to mention pilot whale and dolphin sightings, Starry Night octopus and bobtail squid on a night dive (this was an absolute rare treat), Eagle Ray, Stingray and more fish than you can count. Truly wonderful. Our thanks to Bas, Dimas, Reynald, Raymond, Feibe, Rein for some amazing guiding, Marchos and Jecky for a smooth journey and of course to David for the singing :)
The resort itself is amazing with spacious rooms for a family with a small toddler. Varied ala carte and buffet food options at the chef's discretion (you must try his Bamboo barbecue fish it's phenomenal) as well as some of the best sea side dining views over towards Manado Tua and the Bunaken. Thank you chef for amazing food every day and night.
They also offer tours of the area on those dry days. The Highland tour was particularly awesome and the local market offers a unique insight into how the people live. They also offer babysitting facilities if you and your spouse wish to dive together on any given day and the house reef is one of the best I've ever seen. Our thanks to Bryan, Billy, Tasya, Elsa, Iman, Ping and Sharon (both of them). And a special shout out to Henry whom my son formed a special bond with during our time there "Fist Bump, Boom!"
Finally thanks to Angelique, Lexy and Danny. I know you work very hard to keep the balance between luxury resort and local hideaway and I think it's absolutely perfect. I would recommend Murex Manado, to singles, couples, families and everyone in between. If you love diving then this is the place for you.

On our trip to Indonesia for snorkeling we stayed at the Murex Manado dive resort. There are many Dive Resorts in this part of Indonesia due to the Bunaken Marine Park (where the snorkeling is awesome - the best we have experience in the world!). We are snorkeler only - not divers so it can be challenging to find a place that provides attention to our specific needs rather than just be tag alongs to a dive expedition.
I chose this place because I felt they are set-up to attend to snorkelers as well as divers… and I was right! A lot of resorts on their websites and marketing talk all about the diving expeditions - and as an aside mention that snorkelers can join on the dive boat. 

But this resort has specific snorkel expeditions. There were divers staying at this same resort while we were there and they went out in a boat for their excursions. We took a separate boat just for snorkeling and would visit 2-3 different locations each day. There was a snorkel guide who would provide an overview of each location, with the current and what we could expect to see - and he would point out unique marine life as we snorkeled each area. One day we elected to stay out and the lunch was provided on the boat for us.
The Murex Manado Resort has beautiful grounds and includes a pond filled with Lotus. Our room had a covered patio with chairs overlooking the gardens. The swimming pool and the dining room overlooks the ocean.
The 3 meals served with delicious with many choices, and each employee was friendly and helpful. We will return to this area for snorkeling the Bunaken Marine Park and will definitely book another stay at Murex Manado Dive Resort.

We stayed at Murex Resort Manado for a week in August 2023. The facility is extremely well maintained, the staff are consistently friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and nice, the diving boats are in top condition, and the crew from the driver to the diving guide is first class. The service of the diving center is indescribable, as we didn't have to worry about our diving equipment, all the work was taken care of for us. The diving areas (Bunaken) are incredibly beautiful and not overcrowded. Trips to the vanilla farm, to Manado and also to the Highlands were well organized and are highly recommended. The food is simply delicious and well prepared. We can only recommend Murex.

This is a conveniently located dive resort near Manado with access to diving at the Bunaken National Park. The service here is great and attentive. Diving is top-notch, and dive masters are amazing. Compared to other resorts in the area, tracking of each diver's gear when brining it to/from the boats could've been a bit more organized. The breakfast and dinner buffets are adequate though less varying and also offering healthier options.
Try their "Ticket to paradise" program that allows you to stay and dive at three different dive resorts.

Hi, I'm Pim manager at Murex in Manado. All the comments above by LSSFW are correct. Locally at the resorts there is no luggage restriction. We will take care of all your luggage no matter how heavy or bulky it is. Airline carriers have some different rules about luggage weight. With Singapore Airlines you get 30kg per person.
Yes, we have rental BCD's available at all 3 resorts. You will get your rental equipment at the first resort of your Passport to Paradise and this equipment will stay with you for the whole duration of the trip, as will the weight you will be using.

9 nights accommodation (single person) is US$1,107 on a full board basis.
We have a few options for your diving while you are here:
2 dives per day (US$ 96 per day)
3 dives per day (US$ 135 per day)
Diving a la carte: US$ 48 for single day dives
Please note that rental equipment is not included in the diving rate.
We have a super friendly and professional dive team and we usually make 2 or 3 dive trips over to Bunaken Marine Park each morning as well as afternoon dives around the Manado Bay area and we have a beautiful House Reef. We also offer day trips (or longer) up to Bangka Island, night diving, snorkelling and we can also arrange diving in Lembeh.

Roundtrip wil zeggen : we halen jullie op vanuit Tangkoko en brengen jullie naar ons resort. Na jullie verblijf bij Murex brengen we jullie naar het vliegveld of we brengen jullie naar het volgende hotel waar jullie gaan verblijven. Snorkelen is goedkoper als duiken. Het huisrif kunnen jullie altijd gratis snorkelen. Met de boot kost het snorkelen US$ 40 per person voor de ochtend (dit is inclusief snorkel uitrusting en 2x snorkelen terwijl de duikers duiken) en US$ 20 voor de middag snorkel. Als jullie zelf een snorkel uitrusting hebben kost de ochtend US$ 30 per persoon en de middag US$ 10 per persoon.
Al onze huisjes in Bangka liggen direct aan het strand en hebben allemaal een verandah dat op het strand uit kijkt.

Snorkelers can join the divers on the boat and snorkel the same dive sites as the divers dive. 99% of all dive sites are suitable for snorkelers too. We offer a full board package, all meals, snacks, coffee, tea and drinking water is included in the room rate. Alcoholic drinks and other extras can paid for on the spot. If you book with us a round trip airport transfer is included. A Murex representative will meet you at the airport, look for a Murex sign with your name on it. He will escort you to the resort. The transfer from the airport to the resort takes approx. 1 hours, depending on traffic.
