wonderful staff; very well maintained and private facilities yet socially entertaining i.e. meal times; loved the gorgeous infinity pool; very unique dive spots with many amazing underwater sights like hammerhead shark, sting ray, batfish, giant clams, squat lobster, so many reef fish
I was in Lumbalumba a couple o years ago and reading the reviews etc... it looks like it is the same beautiful, well catered and very friendly and professional place. Swimming pool, terrasse where we are served food, the food, the diving... such a good memory of the place. I wish you good luck in this difficult time for the tourisme industry and I have no doubt that a place of this quality with these very competent owners will survive.
We've stayed at Lumbalumba four times now, and each visit is magical. From the verandah in front of your room or in the dining room, with their spectacular views out over the sea and the Bunaken Islands, through the magnificent water, with its sea life and its geography, on to the dining experience -- every night is a different feast -- it is one of the best experiences I've had as a traveller over 40-odd years. Add to that, the staff and the operators (Roel and Ute) always make you feel welcome. We're from Australia; very few Australians go to Northern Sulawesi, and that makes it special, too. Nice to get away from it all, and you can't get away much more or better than at Lumbalumba.
The place is magical! Very comfortable , nice poll and wonderful garden. The people are very friendly and willing to find a solution at all your request. The water is crystal clear and an abundance of fish, turtles, sharks, dolphins, duggong..... It was incredible!
We were lucky enough to spend a few weeks staying and diving with the Lumba Lumba Diving resort . Coming from the tourism industry ourselves we are very critical of other operations . This resort is outstanding in every way . The owners Roel and Juud were a pleasure to spend time with, extremely helpful and fun yet professional. The accommodation and entire resort area was spoltless and well manicured with every detail attended to and the staff were like one big family . The diving in this area speaks for itself ..some of the best critters and coral we have seen in the world. Lumba Lumba Dive Resort is one of those rare hidden treasures that we were fortunate to discover . The majority of the other guests we met were all return customers...…. which says it all . We plan to book another visit as soon as Indonesia reopens for tourism…
