#5 of 51 hotels in Bintan Island
Travelers' Choice
Close to Singapore lies a sweep of brilliant Indonesian islands, the most spectacular of which are found in the Riau Archipelago. Bintan Island has long been one of the region's most popular destinations. Banyan Tree Bintan occupies 240 hectares on the sea front and is comprised of 72 villas modeled on traditional Balinese architecture, all beautifully located in virgin forest. Opt for the resort's oceanfront villas with jetpools built into their sun decks, or indulge yourself in the pool villas which have their own private infinity pools. Culinary variety is the name of the game with "Treetops" offering Indonesian cuisine in an air-conditioned or al fresco setting while the signature Saffron Restaurant serves Thai and South East Asian specialties. "The Cove," is modern and up-tempo; Mediterranean cuisine is prepared here to perfection. You can also dine in your own villa - simply order from the a la carte menu or make a selection from the BBQ dinners cooked in front of your eyes.

The hotel established in 1995 and I believe it’s the third oldest Banyan Tree resort. The service is exceptional. The hotel environment is really good, however the beach is not recommended at all. Full of rocks and oil. The Thai and Indonesian restaurants are fantastic, but the breakfast is kind of plenty and average. There’s no gym there, if you’re really that desperate I guess you can use the one at Angsana. It’s good for family travellers.

Dear thegymlad, Thank you for taking a moment to review your stay with us back in June 2019. It is great to read that you enjoyed your time with us despite having to deal with the oil at the beach. Well, I am so happy to inform you that that phenomenon is seasonal and as I write, the beach is in its best condition. We hope you can take provide us the honor of welcoming you back once the global challenges allow everyone to start retaking the normal activities to enjoy another wonderful Banyan Tree experience framed with the warmth of the Indonesian Hospitality. Until then, we all wish you the very best. Sincerely, Jose Luis Barrera Hotel Manager

Really nice resort facility with a great view facing the South Chinese Sea. The staff is super friendly and helpful- always with a smile on their face. The Cove, Treetops and Saffron are really good restaurants with a good menu, perfect service and delicious food. We fell in love with all these little “BanyanTree- Goodies” we had in our Villa and the welcome ceremony’s with a cold, fresh lemongrass towel and homemade ginger ice tea. Thank you again du Kasir, Sofian, Lauren, Queen, David and the rest of the crew who made us feel welcome the whole time. Terima kasih !

We stayed for 2 nights on our honeymoon and had the most amazing time. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to an infinity pool villa which completely blew us away. Great and reasonably priced spa, great breakfast selection, fantastic Indonesian food at treetops and very kind and attentive staff who are always happy to help. My wife is a coeliac and they had gluten free bread at breakfast and menus labelling items containing gluten at the restaurant. Being super critical some of the furniture could do with a bit of touching up with paint but it didn't ruin the time there at all. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed for one week at Banyan Tree in Bintan in an Infinity Pool Villa 2 bedrooms and it was a perfect place to relax. Special thanks to Sofyan who was so attentive with us, Edi and his staff took care of our villa with so many details and the housekeeping team (Lilik David and Ali). The only thing that can be changed is the price for the food, restaurants are expensive.
