Very tired old Once grand Indonesian style hotel. Beds really comfortable. Receptionist Yuni fabulous customer service. Really nice staff. The place needs a damn good scrub. The pool had so much algae that I thought I was standing on a furry animal. Really they are trying to keep a huge sprawling hotel going that is just not being maintained AT ALL. They would be better to de commission part of it and spruce up a small section. If it was clean and had a clean pool I would rather stay in this style of hotel than a high rise. I hope they can do something to bring back to life this tired old girl. They clearly have good staff. They need a refurbishment and maintenance plan and start with pool and scrubbing the rooms into every corner.
This was a great hotel to return to after an exhausting excursion visiting Mt Ijen and Bromo. It's a spacious old resort style hotel with a massive pool. The grounds are full of deer, geese, and animals. Quite quirky. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Good value for money. Easy taxi ride to Ciputra World for food and shopping.
As a TripAdvisor hall of fame award-winning hotel manager and Bali, I am usually pretty picky when it comes to hotels. For a fraction of what it would cost most places the world, we secured a large two room Suite 4 my wife and I and a close by normal hotel room for my children. Our suite was close to the pool which is exactly what I requested in a quiet area of the hotel. The hotel rooms are older and as is normal with folder hotels a little tired but exceptionally good quality and appreciated the original hardwood floors. The pool is large but unfortunately, we were advised half an hour after we got there that there was a close pool for maintenance. It was my hotel I would've done it after 7 PM so the guests could enjoy the pool. One of the nice features was free bicycles available at the front entrance which my 11-year-old son and wife jumped on shortly after checking and I went for a nice ride. The location close to the freeway was perfect therefore avoiding Surabaya's often gridlocked traffic. A very unique feature was discovered the next morning as I was walking later on when I brought my sons out that they have live dear including one with us substantial horns who hang around the reception looking for free treats. One word of caution the block with his big horns can get a little aggressive when you give them a treat the likes. There was a great buffet the next morning.…
Stayed at this hotel with my family. Loved the greenery & animals in the hotel. The breakfast was good, the pools were awesome. The rooms were old but clean. The price nothing can beat it. Perfect for weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of the city (except when they have wedding reception).
Singgasana Hotel in Surabaya is perfect for recreation after long car rides in Java, for example to the volcanoes in eastern Java. The hotel, consisting of mainly bungalow rooms, is situated in a lush tropical garden and has a huge pool. It‘s not quite in the city center (but thren Surabaya is not an exactly bright touristic star) but convenient to reach the airport within 20 to 30 minutes. Besides the relaxing and beautiful setting the hotel offers extremely delicious morning and evening buffets, featuring mainly Indonesian dishes. The buffet chef proudly explains you what the dishes are and what they consist of. The rooms are large enough, however the bathroom appliances have seen better times. Everything is very clean, though, and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful. So complaints remain on a very low level considering the whole setting. The hotel is an oasis in a very busy metropolis.…
The hotel was old, but obviously it was a luxurious hotel in its time. It has a large reception area, wide swimming pools and a good restaurant. Positive things can be said for the swimming pool. The water was clean and warm (if the weather was sunny), and clearly it was one of the main selling point. The room was styled in small houses, with only a single floor throughout. The room was really spacious. Kids can play and run around inside the room. The bathroom was clean enough. In my opinion, if the hotel see some major renovation, it can be better and return to its previous luxurious class.
Love this hotel. Its ambiance, live Gamelan music, smell of jasmine in the entrance really captures the Indonesian culture and spirit. There are many ponds and wild life everywhere making it a very green stay amidst the hectic Surabaya. Huge and beautiful pools satisfying both the adults and children. Room is spacious, warm and cozy overlooking the pool. However the water pressure in the bathroom is a bit low. Apart from that small problem, the staff is ever helpful, genuine, friendly and polite.. Worth the money spent, will come again and recommend to others. Keep up the good job guys..
Singgasana Hotel is a nice getaway from the congested city of Surabaya. The rooms are spacious and reminiscent of 80s luxury. The lobby is also warm and welcoming and we were informed that it used to be run by Hilton. Having that said, the air-conditioning is a little lacking on a hot day and the furnishings may be too old for some. For me, the great value of the rooms more than make up for their shortcomings.
It used to be one of our favorite hotel, but now it look so old and need renovation. Last time we stayed in this hotel, the room is not clean, and look so old especially the furniture. Some furniture look old, dirty and broken. So the hotel need to rennovate the room. But the good things about this hotel is the swimming pool. It is large and close to the room. This is one of our favorite swimming pool in hotel. Breakfast not to special, little choice of food.
As a family from 4 we enjoyed our stay from 2 nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We loved the pool. Nice and warm and the staff around the pool is also really friendly. Our rooms were big enough for us. And we love the little walk to our rooms. Breakfast was more than enough to choose from. Western style and Indonesian style. We were happy we choose this hotel to stay. Of we come back to Surabay we definitely come back to the Singassana hotel😀
