Hotel is very good special in the lounge.rooms are clean Nice view. Service at entrance and check Inn counter was very good and helpfull. The restaurant off the hotel is good but the creativity of the products was more azian then westerns. The Chinees restaurant in the hotel was good. In overall the service of personel is very good. So we will come again.

the location is in the heart of Surabaya, next to the Legendaris Ice Cream Palace: ZANGRANDI. The hotel is quite old...not good at maintenance due to Pandemic Situation. But overall still okey. I chose Japanes Theme Room.

This hotel brings a lot of childhood memories. And I’m now in my 40s, so you can tell this place has been around for decades. It is quite outdated. And the room was not the cleanest. We booked a superior king, but the room was dirty and the toilet leaked. The bathroom had a bad odour. The wallpaper was covered in dust. They moved us to another superior king room which was better, but still not the cleanest. You can see wallpapers pealing off. I think the staff is what balances it out. They went out of their way to help us. They work their best with what they have to serve guests.

We have been staying for 2 months in the Royal Club Suite. The suite is very spacious and cleaned twice a day. In the afternoon we were able to enjoy 'high tea' in the Royal Club lounge. Breakfast is extensive and was served in the Green House Restaurant. The hotel has also a exclusive chinese restaurant (Ming Court). This restaurant is among others known for its wel-known dimsum. Preparing dishes without MSG is no problem for the chef. The taste of the food is excellent. All staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, making you feel at home very quickly. In the evenings 5 days a week you can enjoy live music in the Curabaya lounge We will definitely come back to this hotel next year and this will be an anniversary visit as we have been visiting this hotel for 10 consecutive years.

Cons: 1. Hotel is old, outdated and in dire need of total renovation. 2. Lobby area look dark and gloomy 3. The room we booked was Superior room, we got room on 6th floor but it was dirty, wallpapers were peeled here and there, water intrusion stain here and there on the ceiling, room has bad odor. So we asked another room and moved to 9th floor. The room was slightly better but not much. 4. HVAC system is ancient and not really cool 5. Pillows are not comfortable and need replacement for sure. 6. Room smell and feel humid, even the bed sheet has humid smell 7. Bathroom is old and has bad odor 8. Hot water not really working well, has to wait 5 minutes before the warm water came out. 9. Slow drain in the shower area 10. Towel has stain 11. Ants in the room
Pros: 1. Located by the legendary Zangrandi Ice Cream and across from Alun-alun/Balai Pemuda 2. Walking distance to Plaza Surabaya 3. Staff are friendly and polite, they try their best to please the guest 4. Breakfast is good and has many varieties 5. Fast check in process 6. Good wifi connection 7. Many TV channels including HBO 8. 5 Work Elevator, so you don’t have to wait too long to get to your room

I stay in this hotel for numerous times and always got good experiences about it, but this time, I got my bad experience.
Check-in process runs smoothly, got my room immediately since it was midnight. No concierge help, only 1 security helping me with my luggages.
I booked 3 rooms and all of those were horrible in condition. The rooms were humid, very bad odor. The bathroom were in poor condition. I moved to other room due to closet need to be repaired.
So, I think this is my last time stay in this hotel, I'm not recommend this hotel to anyone, but you can try at your own risks.

Nothing like the online ads. It was untidy, dark & depressing. Lifts inefficient. Rooms in need of an upgrade. Staff unhelpful. Breakfast uneatable (& undrinkable with poor coffee & Tang orange juice) . I arrived there late after a long flight, having pre-paid - otherwise I would have gone elsewhere. No redeeming features.

I was booked thematic room thru Traveloka. I didn't think that I got Japan Room, bcoz I didn't know they have Japan Room before. Huge room with bathub, nice room actually. Unfortunatelly the bathroom was so bad, especially the shower.

We stayed here only for one night and that was a complete blessing. We were given a room on the sixth floor that upon first inspection seemed quite spacious and clean. However as our stay progressed things deteriorated to a point that we were incredibly happy to check out the next day. We went to a wedding during the evening and upon return we went to the bathroom to find the tap had leaked considerably all over the counter and soaked our toiletries and bag. We went to bed and had the air con turned on, but the noise coming from it was unbearable. We then spent a very uncomfortable Saturday night in a very warm room. We were then amazingly awoken at 8am Sunday morning by the constant hammering and drilling sound seemingly from the room next door. We called reception to ask what was going on to be told they were renovating the 5th floor. AT 8AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING. Now I have worked for a long time in hotels and this is hugely unacceptable! At no time during the booking or check in process were we informed this was going on. So after a dreadful nights sleep we went for breakfast. Only to be told we couldn't have cooked eggs because they had run out!! Unbelievable!! The staffing the buffet restaurant seemed to not give a damn. Overall there is no way on gods earth that I would ever stay in this hotel ever again. The managers of this property really should be ashamed of the way this hotel is being operated at the moment.
