Stayed 2 nights/3 days for a business trip and literally stayed at the hotel the entire time. Spacious room with cold air-con. Staff service is good, they are genuine and helpful. Had dinner 2 nights in a row at Nishimura, the Japanese restaurant, and the quality of the food is excellent, topped with the good, polite and friendly service of the staffs. Untouched breakfast, and the hotel put the salad, fruit, etc in a closed jars (see pictures). Staffs at the Jamoo restaurant during breakfast are very attentive, I remember Pak Yoga as one of the staff that assisted me with my breakfast, and attentively yet politely always ask if I needed anything else. Overall a very good hotel with very good service. The only improvement needed is the air-con at the Lobby. It feels very warm since the first time I arrived on Sunday evening up to when I left on Tuesday noon. Usually their air-con is cold. I had a whole day meeting at the Lobby Lounge on Monday from 7.45 AM to 18.30 PM and it felt so warm.

Friendly & helpful staffs, nice clean rooms. All foods served were good & well packed hygienically. Our son got surprised bday cake from the staffs. Thanks 😊
We noticed some leaves at the bottom of the pool. In room movie couldnt be played.

My stay at the Shangri La Surabaya was nice. I visited for two nights on business. Before I arrived, they had arranged transport from the airport which was incredibly efficient and easy.

When I arrived, I was given a room on the 17th floor which is the top floor. It wasn't bad but could do with some updates to make it look more modern. The bed was comfortable and a good size, although there were a few scuffs here and there. The bathroom was small but had all of the essentials that you would need - however, both the shower door and floor could have been cleaned to a higher standard.

The hotel is located in central Surabaya which made it easy to access shops and restaurants nearby. I had access to their Horizon Club lounge on the 12th floor that offers delicious breakfast service with nice views of the city skyline.

Overall, my stay at Shangri La Surabaya was very enjoyable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else who's looking for something luxurious yet budget friendly in this part of Indonesia. The service provided by staff was top-notch and they did an amazing job making sure my stay went smoothly all throughout my visit. The gym and pool are nice features if you want to sweat and relax

We decided to have staycation to Shangrila Surabaya for our weekend and it’s really good idea. Saw their new hygiene protocols applied start as receptionist to room.
We stay with kids and they provide kids tent at our kids room which bring more happiness to our kids. They provide mask and hand sanitizer at room also.
I saw different in their breakfast style, packed individually but bring safety feeling for us.
Had a great time at pool also with kids.
Enjoying Shangrila was a great idea.

As an offshore installation manager, my pre Covid work schedule was 4 weeks at work offshore Java and 4 weeks at home with family and friends in Vietnam.
Since the the pandemic hit air travel and visa in and out of Vietnam, my company has kindly found hotel accommodation in Surabaya. I am so glad that they choose the Shangri-la Hotel outside the main city centre.

I have stayed in many hotels in town but few excel in all areas during the current difficulties.
Staff are friendly helpful and attentive without being too pushy. They take a pride to good service and often help with the important information about local shops and amenities in the area which especially help not being local. When you have been away from home for nearly 2 years things such as toiletries and clothing need to be replaced...... even a visiting Covid PCR testing service, if you give the desk manager 24 hours notice.

I have been most impressed the the loyal staff have maintained the good atmosphere and the material upkeep of the hotel, always clean, always welcoming and good food and drink menus still on offer through out.

That is why 5 stars for the rating is thoroughly deserved in my opinion.

the hotel is very clean, during this covid 19 pandemic all the staffs using the faceshield and mask and also there is hand sanitizer everywhere.

the staffs also friendly especially Aditya (the receptionist).
He arranged everything about my booking using promotion vouchers via phone call.
I met him once more at the lift when I was going to have breakfast.
He asked me whether I needed any helps.

I was impressed with The Untouched program by Jamoo for our breakfast.
Everything was in hygiene condition and untouched by other people. It was great breakfast.

The 1st thing I saw was a huge Lobby lounge they have. It looks luxury, formal yet cozy. Their uniform catch my eyes. No doubt bcs Shangri-La is world class hotel. The room was huge and clean, toilet amenities were complete! I almost have no complain abt the bathroom. And you don't have to worry about safety here. They have very strict security rules. I love how they really care about guest's health due to pandemic. You can find almost anything for bfast. Asian, indonesian, or western food. My advice is just abt the pillow. Maybe the hotel can add more pillows or change it bcs FOR ME it was just too soft. Thank you.

I stayed here with my family during weekend for 2 nights. We checked in around 10 PM and it really took long time. The receptionist offered us a lot of additional services even though I already said we didn't need it. He kept explain everything that we didn't interesting.
We checked out on 6 AM and the process was actually quick. But the receptionist had a bad body odor.
Anyway, the hotel itself was good, The room was clean and comfort. We got connecting room with the correct bed type as I ordered. The swimming pool area was nice, pool was big surrounded by green trees.
The parking area, both building and open area were far enough from the hotel lobby. Better to drop off your luggage first at the lobby if you drive your self.

Was lucky enough to be upgraded to Executive Club for my 14 night stay and must admit we made the most of it. Breakfast cooked to order, afternoon tea, 6pm wine and great choice of cooked eats, cheese, cakes/puddings etc which meant we didn't need to go for dinner. Room was good with modern tv with lots of channels and enabling smartview from mobile/tablet (internet was strong throughout hotel). Bathroom was great with fantastic showers and a bathtub which filled quickly. Bed was huge and comfortable, blackout curtains and subtle lighting to enable sleep at any time and aircon worked perfectly and quietly. 3 restaurants on site for the odd night we fancied straying from the executive lounge. Restaurants were a little expensive perhaps but it's a 5 star hotel so to be expected. Pros:
Good rooms, strong internet, great showers, Executive Club - OUTSTANDING staff/customer service in all areas of hotel and unbelievably charming staff. Cons: Desperados bar in the basement had good live music but was very disappointing (best avoided unless you are in a group).

Yes the main pool has gentle steps with hand rails into water of about a metre (3 feet). Max depth 3metres.
