Located at the very center of the city, this Hotel really stands out from the crowd. This building was actually built in 1910 & was used by the Dutch colonial days as a military barracks.Even though the building itself is quite old, but the hotel facilities are modern & well maintained. The room was quite cozy & romantic, with classic...

Spent one nite at this hotel. Its s beautiful property situated in the city with beautiful gardens and landmarks within the hotel. The staff are great and very helpful. However i had to change rooms as the first junior suite we walked in upon check in had a moldy stench. We got the suite next door which was fresh but...

I truly can't explain why did Mandarin oriental give up this hotel. Luxury wise it might fall a little for it's standard but as for hospitality experience this hotel is world class, i could easily see Peninsula or Waldorf Astoria take over this hotel. Nothing else to add: In a mediocre city such as Surabaya, Stay at Majapahit hotel. It...

The Majapahit was founded by the same family who started Raffles in Singapore. Like Raffles, it has a classic colonial feel with with well-manicured courtyards and a large art deco add-on and is in beautiful shape--all at 20% of the price of Raffles, yes 80% discount to Raffles. All the restaurants (western/asian fusion, chinese, pub) are good, the staff is...

I stayed at the Executive Suite for 3 nights and was at first assigned to room number 63. At first impression the room looked great but was very dark. Didn't impressed my mother, who critiqued the darkness and assumed that there are dust everywhere. It's true, all corners and most surfaces were covered with dust, especially the lamps and the...

A beautiful hotel which saw the Independence of Indonesia from the Dutch. The architecture is grand. The rooms are well appointed with a balcony in front where one can smoke. Stayed 2 nights here. Prior arrival, I browsed the hotel's information and found out that it is THE historical hotel which is famous as "Flag Incident" in 1945. ROOM Stayed in room 173, the room was splendid and spacious. I love the European-style interior as it reminded me of a hotel in Interlaken where I stayed in 2004. I think...
