Location is the only negative. A car is definitely needed. Room is spacious. Restaurant is fabulous. Coffee plantation tour is interesting. Wi-Fi is strong and fast. Entire stay was wonderful. Our schedule only allowed one night, but I would have loved to spend a week.
Really enjoyed a short break in this area with beautiful views from the resort. Staff is very friendly and food is ok if you stick to Indonesian fare. The villa we stayed in was one of the better ones in the resort, but definitely not worth the high price we paid for it (maybe also due to high season). 100 USD per night maximum would have been a fair price in our opinion. The main clubhouse/lobby is the best villa on the resort, unfortunately you cannot book it. The coffee plantation tour is short and sweet and our guide (also the concierge) was the best man on the resort representing his company. We would advise to bring your own car when visiting, because taxis are not available and the hotel taxis we got from and to Semarang were old and expensive.
Stay here for couple of times, and this time I would like to mention the excellent service from Pak Eko at the Horizon Lounge. Attn to details from him is truly appreciated. Mushroom quiche taste so good, but the Egg Benedict n Egg Florentine just quite disappointing the eggs was too hard and the Hollandaise just too bland. Overall ok for others choices.
This resort is located about 1 hour before Borobudur if you take the trip from Semarang. Actually it was coffee plantation area, so you you can enjoy coffee all the time, and it was very cheap one if you took it at the "warung kopi". You will know the place if you take the coffee tour for free. I suggest you to choose the cottage other than plantation villa, coz the view is more amazing. The room is cozy, not smelly, clean, and neat. The only complain was just the breakfast. I chose American breakfast for my son, it came up with the salad with caterpillar moving in his plate. And it completely ruin his apetite, and it continue until now, that he doesn't want to eat vegetable. Their reason was the vegetable is organic, although still they have to prepare and inspect everything before being served. However, my wife then asked the chef to met us to give direct explanation, but he refused. What an impolite response from him. The other thing that was disturbing was the playhouse for children was completely dark and spooky, and not well maintained, better the management closing it. And the last, they will charge extra person coming with you, that was very expensive. Luckily most of the staffs, except the irresponsible chef, were very helping, so I have to still give them five stars.…
This is beautiful places nestled away from the hustle bustle of a town / city. Worth a visit over the weekend. The location & surroundings are just beautiful! Ideal to spend a lazy weekend. However, I feel they can upgrade the rooms a bit.. they look obsolete & dated & not in a good way! Do have their coffee.. looks awesome & tastes even better!
I have spend 3 nights in paradise. From the warm welcome, to the amazing villa number 213, facing directly 3 beautiful mountains. The accommodation is huge with 2 day beds, one on the balcony and one indoor. Bed is comfortable with many pillows. There is a huge bathtub in the bathroom with a magnificent view. Separate shower and toilet . Also a huge wardrobe. Breakfast is ala carte with healthy jamu , fresh juices and delicious western and Indonesian food. The staff is super friendly and calling us by our names. High tea at the club house with sunset view is absolutely a thing not to be missed. You can opt for a lunch or dinner at Java red or Java green . The Chef is really talented and the food is really yummy. All dishes are well presented with a huge portion and organic ingredients. The General Manager Bapak Sugeng greeted us personally and introduce us the history of the legendary resort. We went for the coffee plantation tour with Pak Wiwiek and try the coffee beans with brown sugar. 22 hectares of amazing coffee plantation , offers an exclusive and unforgettable stay . We will be back soon .…
Visited here for 4 nights with family and friends. Though the cost is high and rooms very old, what makes up for it is (a) Nature bliss (b) Excellent Team (c) One of the best SPAs ever. The resort view in between mountains is amazing and cool breeze truly refreshes you. When there don’t forget to try Jamu and afternoon tea (our favourite was spice tea). Also must say Covid protocols was strictly followed. Highly recommend this lovely place.
A Great escape from city life!! The ground is simply superb. Well maintained, clean and nicely decorated. There are plenty of activities here. The free ones are yoga, coffee plantation tour & power walk around the complex. The paid ones are horse riding, bicycle etc. There’s also complimentary afternoon tea or coffee. As for the villa, the size is big with balcony. It’s all traditional javanese. I stayed in Arum villa with excellent mountain view. A little on the downside, the villas are a bit old. Also, a bit of warning you may see some insects in the room. I think the hotel has made good efforts to prevent this but, I guess it’s quite a challenge considering how close we are to nature. Overall my family and I really enjoyed our stay. We really found this place to be very relaxing, serene and peaceful. The coffee is also great!! If you love to be close to nature this is just perfect. …
Very nice view, fresh air and beautiful nature. Great massage and food. Our goto places for local staycation. The pricing is also fair, a lot of local activities like hikiing to mountain andong and plantation tour is a must
Ambar Villa is one of the family villas in Mesastilla that provides facilities and accommodation like a private house. Complete facilities, very spacious, quiet and comfortable. There is a recreation area to go around the coffee plantation by horse. You can also stop at the coffee production site. The swimming pool is really cool, the air is typical of the countryside. You can see views of Mount Andong, Merapi, and Merbabu. Very comfortable and pleasant to stay and nature recreation here.
