The property is absolutely gorgeous but by far the best thing about this property is the staff. They are so incredibly friendly and made our trip unforgettable. We were able to book a driver for a day to explore the near by waterfalls and rice terraces which we really enjoyed. We loved this place so much we altered our plans and stayed an additional night. They were able to accomodate us in our same room and even book us a river rafting trip the next morning with last minute notice. The rooms and gardens are impeccable and we loved lounging by the private pool each morning after anjoying an incredible breakfast. I would highly recommend staying at Samkhya Villas if you are looking for accomodations close to Ubud center but secluded from the craziness.

I was initially nervous about staying here after reading that you need a buggy to get to the hotel. But Don’t worry! It’s prt of the charm. You get dropped at the main road then drive down the side of the most beautiful Rice Fields to get to this treasure of a resort.
The staff were very friendly at all times and could not do enough. Even helping and suggesting where to go.
The location is about 10-15min drive into centre of Ubud so very easily accessible by Ride share or a scooter hire. I hired a scooter from hotel but on first day was sold out so perhaps request in advance if this is something you know you want (which i recommend).
The villa was stunning! Amazing views, but private. The room was cosy and comfy and just full of charm.
My only small complaint would be that my pool never got the sun whilst i was there and was always in the shade. This meant it was a little too cold to use most days on my visit.
The breakfast was ok. A nice selection delivered to the room every day. I wouldn’t say it was outstanding quality though. But nice anyhow.
Overall, i would totally recommend anyone to stay here when visiting Ubud.

Price:
I booked Pool Villa With Valley View for 2 people spend about ±550k Via AirB*B
+ Extra Floating Breakfast for 2 people spend about 100k and breakfast is brought to our room each morning which we really enjoyed!

Service:
The staff are very friendly and super helful staff and we got tasty welcome drink! The staff are always more than happy to help.

Place and Ambience:
Wonderful place with multiple outward facing villas, each unit feels really private with its own pool and gazebo. The wide variety of plants and the wood-based building mean you will see various kinds of bugs and house lizards, a tradeoff for being so close to nature. Internet speed very adequate for remote work although not overwhelmingly fast. Very nice unforgettable memories when we stay here. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Thank you for giving us such a good experience! I'll be back, see you December 2021..

The 4-star villa is just a joke, a big joke

This accommodation is not cheap and the location is so bad that you have to take their golf cart to get there.
I can accept these, but the first person ran out of hot water halfway through the shower. He told the counter that we had to wait for 20 minutes.

The funny is when we already waited about 40 minutes, the water was still cold, this is the worst place I have ever stayed in while traveling.

And the night security brings us to another room to take a shower, you know what? Still cold water

Really ridiculous!
So I pay the 250 USD per night then I take a shower with cold water?

The place we stayed a few days ago was half the price but this has never happened to us before.

This villa destroyed my vacation, I am coming to Bali for relaxing not looking for trouble.

The staff Wayan is a fool.

It was already our check-out time in the morning and she kept asking
“ Could we check it's the hot water first”

What problem with you? Is your brain still good?

I've had enough of this idiot employee's idiocy.
I will post this awful experience on every social media, that is all.

Very clean room (we had the pool villa which was worth the approx. 150EUR price per night back in 2015). Very friendly staff, free transfer to city, quiet location, lots of privacy. Thank your very much for the great experience!

We stayed only for 1 night and overall we had a great time there. But unfortunatelly the bath room area not very clean and look did not maintain very well, a bit smell old room. The lighting also not really suits with the villa, there are white lamp mix with warm lamp. The breakfast so so.

However the staff ok, and the environment was spectacular. Hope to coming back here..

As a couple we stayed at Samkhya Villas for 4 nights. After 17 hours of flying we were welcomed to the villa by very friendly and helpful staff. They encouraged us to enjoy the villa and facilities as our ‘second home’! Check in was easy and fast, and we were given a mobile phone to use to contact reception whilst out and about in Ubud - we used this to arrange pick up by the shuttle service to and from the town.
The reception/villas are not accessible by car, as it is all situated a short distance into the rice fields. For this reason there is a drop off on the main road, to and from this point the villas offer a 24hr golf buggy service (the walk is around 10mins from the road to villa).
The villa itself was air conditioned, with an impressive outdoor bathroom that was adequately sheltered and well lit. An outdoor kitchen included all the facilities required to prepare drinks or meals yourself. (Although 24 room service and on site restaurant offers delicious, reasonably priced food, late night snacks and a good drinks selection).
The staff were extremely helpful and remembered every guest by name. Their service was personalised and reliable 24hrs. The staff, as locals, knew the area and way of life very well and offered good advice and made suggestions on activities/excursions.
The villa is in a perfect location - just far enough from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud, but close enough that the shuttle service took approx 10/15 mins to reach the town centre.
On two occasions we used the on site spa - treatments are relaxing and of a very professional standard - they were also very reasonably priced. We enjoyed a Balinese massage one evening, and reflexology the next.
The private infinity pool was perfect, cleaned daily, and set in beautiful Balinese surroundings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Ubud.

After proper searching for a perfect villa for our honeymoon (Thanks to tripadvisor) I have chosen Samkhya villas Ubud for our stay of 6 days & 5 nights here in March 2018 (and yes sorry for the late review).
I'll just give all the pros & cons like everyone else but read my review by keeping in mind that Samkhya villas are providing the best in class at an affordable price. :)
Pros:
Everything. Right from the receiving we got, their attention towards us, the atmosphere around & especially the villa. We have stayed at Villa no 8 (with sacred valley view) & within a few seconds after entering our room my wife was too impressed & happy with my choice.
Room - It was very neat & day to day room servicing was too good. And the private pool was kept clean everytime with very nice poolside furniture, the water is good & it's great to see maintaining things so nicely even it's too close to nature(I'm talking about problems regarding fallen leaves, insects etc.,). The bathroom has a Jacuzzi with hot water facility too. Overall very good for couples as privacy is very well provided.
Food- we only had a lunch once otheriwse we didn't get a chance to taste much over there as we were always around bali during our lunch/dinner time. But the breakfast we have been provided was top notch(which was included in the package). They have list of menu everyday for us to select & we were surprised that they are providing every item with our choice as per requirement (most hotels provides coffee or fresh juice at a time but not here).Freshly baked items, juices, coffee, milk along with the main course!! Great job.
Staff - Bali people are known for their loving nature and we have met a quite few of them here. Especially sumi (if I'm right with her name & she is in the picture) who was insisting to go only after having our breakfast before going for a volcano trek at 2 am!! Such a lovely gesture & we had the same experience will all the people over there (mostly interacted with the guys in the picture). They provided us with a mobile for contacting anytime for assistance when we go out & that helped a lot.
Other services are very good regarding free shuttle service (3 times a day to ubud center), cab services to places around ubud, boogey car service from the main road to villa anytime (my wife loved this ride very much :) ), the greenary around the place (the place is too peaceful), free Wi-Fi, TV, kettle, mini fridge with soft drinks included inside the room etc.
Cons:
Nothing much to say but these are some points where i have seen across other reviews & explaining why I have ruled them out
1) It's 30km away from airport - but ubud is at the center of bali and the true culture of bali can be seen here. And there are many indian chinese restaurants near by(which actually helped us because my wife couldn't adjust with Indonesian food). And every famous place to visit is around 1-1.5 hours from here so no issues.
2) Too inside from main road - they provide boogey car service for free anytime in the day & the ride, the view was too good. And the place is where the villas are constructed is what makes them special.
3) Food - after going through the menu we have felt that few more options regarding indian/chinese/continental dishes should be provided as people from different countries are likely to visit.
Finally I wanna attach few pics below for your reference & my words to samkhya villas people - Thank you for making our honeymoon very memorable & if we ever plan to come bali again we would love to stay at your villas without a doubt. :)

We were looking for a really peaceful restful break after a busy year and that’s exactly what we got. We stayed for 4 nights which was about right for us.

Villa - simple but had everything we needed. I loved the semi outdoor bath and shower (loo too). There was a covered roof but still felt outside. Samkhya Villas is set right across from rice paddy fields and we could look out from the pool.

Facilities - the whole atmosphere is peaceful and quiet. Probably not the place if you’re up for a party. Samkhya has its own bar and restaurant. Ate and drank at both and was very happy with food and cocktails. Can order food, coffees, drinks to your room at any time of the day. We spent a whole day doing that plus swimming and sleeping. A simple bkfast is included. There is an in house day spa where we had beautiful massages. It gets busy so book ahead. There’s a small grocery store across the road if you want water, drinks, chips, beers.

Getting there - there was airport pick up available. About 1.5 hour drive from the airport. We arrived at the villas around midnight but there were staff there to check us in. You jump in a golf cart to get from the street down to the villas and carts are available all day every day but you can walk too, it’s not that far to the road.

People - staff are gorgeous and very helpful. They helped us book restaurants and drivers. Nothing is too much trouble.

Getting to Ubud town - you can’t walk so a driver is a must. But it’s only around 15 minutes and drivers are easy to book either through the villas or they are everywhere. Around AUD$10 but tip big cos tourism is down. The villa also has a daily shuttle to and from town.

Weather - in Dec/Jan it was pretty hot and humid but if you have experienced that climate before you will be ok. Swimming pool a must! Europeans might find it hard. On a clear day you can see Mt Agung but there was never any threat despite media hype.

To do - we visited the monkey forest and were pleasantly surprised. It’s not touristy, no gift shop, you basically just walk around and look at cute monkeys roaming everywhere. There are a million awesome coffee shops and restaurants in Ubud. Recommend following Ubudhood on insta or download Eatworthy app before you go. Highly recommend going to Junglefish to hang out as a day guest by their fabulous infinity pool overlooking the jungle, cocktails and tunes. Also recommend Sayan House for great food, atmosphere, views.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. If you are looking to be in amongst it for walking to restaurants and cafes,
recommend staying in Ubud town but Samkhya was perfect for us.

Went here for a Wedding anniversary trip..this new villas (open between november 2014) the area is very secluded..there is drop point in Jl. Lungsiakan..for those who drive car, you can park your car in their drop zone area..So where is the villa? it is located inside of small tiny alley..call the reception to pick u up, then less than 1 min, a buggy car will pick up up with a sincere and big smile for sure, even you are calling them in the middle of the night..
Let start the review :

PLUS :
- Been staying in many 5star hotels or villas..what i love from this villa is you dont have to pretend or behave classy..just be yourself..you dont need to bother regarding the hospitality..i left my perfume..the Manager called Pak Mega had helped me big time..thanks,Pak..got a free afternoon tea and 15 mins shoulder massage..bed arrangement for our wedding anniversary trip..bath tub covered with roses..
- KING KOIL mattress and pillows
- Room cleanliness good enough..very clean..spacious villa..the pool big enough..
- Breakfast inside the room or outside near reception..the food is delicious as well..
- They run this villa with a family hospitality concept..so,do not hesitate to let them know what you like and what u dont..what u want, and what u dont want..as simple as that..
- They also provide JBL Speaker for Iphone and Samsung DVD player..you can borrow the dvd at the reception..but i suggest you to bring your own DVD collection, because their DVD lists are not so many
- Regarding the noisy sound mentioned by previous reviewer, i didnt experience that..by the explanations of the manager, it was some villas that has an open design at the roof..so other guest can hear his/her neighbour sound..but now, this matter has been solved..they had closed the open space with a soundproof material..
- Pool is cold..but hey, its an open space yet close to nature villa and ur expecting the water temperature is hot?? daaaah..!!!
- Big and spacious Changing room..comfy bath tub
- For the rest, please see my photo for your visual references

MINUS :
- Too much chlorine in the pool..The management have to fix this matter..
- The pool quite clean..but still have some dead insects and fallen flowers and leafs upon it..but it dont affect the color or the smell of the pool water..still acceptable
- TV channel too little..but you can borrow a DVD at reception
- Please plant more banana leafs at villa no.1..so outside people cannot peek..
- The mosquito coils that you put in changing room, please change the mosquito coils with mosquito liquid reppelant..so it wont caused smokey smell in the room..(but i cant find any mosquito when stayed here)

and the final conclusions for this property are WORTH YOUR MONEY, WORTH YOUR TIME, AND WORTH YOUR EVERYTHING

If you want to rent car, I suggest you with the driver. Cause Samkhya is far inside the farm, you take golf car from the road to hotel. Only golf car n motorcycle can reach the hotel. It is about 15 minutes from city centre.
