Alam Indah Ubud, the first of our Alam hotels opened in 1995 with 10 guest rooms-each individually appointed in their own style combining traditional Balinese architecture with modern ammenities. Set amidst lush gardens, Alam Indah is surrounded by idyllic views looking out to the sacred land of the Monkey Forest temple. The secluded setting of Alam Indah will feel like a retreat, yet the centre of Ubud is easily accessible- just a 10-minute walk through the forest brings you to Monkey Forest Road. A complimentary shuttle car to and from the centre of Ubud is also available on request. We offer an in-house menu for lunch and dinner prepared at our Alam Indah kitchen or the extended menu selection from Cafe Wayan or Lake Leke may be ordered in advance. Over the years, many repeat guests have returned to stay with us feeling Alam Indah to be their special home base while in Bali.

In my opinion one of the coziest and authentic hotels in Ubud. Located behind Monkey Forest it is an easy walk to Monkeys Forest Road, Jalan Hanuman or Ubud Palace ( or you just make use of the complimentary shuttle). The bungalows in balinese style are nestled in a beautiful terraced garden that is lovingly maintained. Sound of nature like birds, frogs etc are included 😉. Keep in mind that there are steps throughout the hotel due to the terrace style. A little pool invites for a swim and to just relax, just be aware that the Monkeys like to come for a visit. In the afterNoon tea/coffee and a piece of cake is complimentary. The rooms go from simple to luxurious. Breakfast is a la carte with fresh juice, fruit, joghurt, muesli, all styles of egg, fresh bread, croissants, pancakes, jaffles and asian choices like fried rice. Staff is very friendly and kind and will try everything to make you enjoy your stay.

What can I say ? Well to start....this place is an oasis of quiet and tranquility. The gardens are so beautiful and the monkeys playing around make this even more special. The rooms are traditional Balinese and comfortable. The views are endless. Short walk from town but there is a driver who will take you too I want to say special thanks to Rosa who checked us in late at night with a huge smile. Beautiful Cynthia at breakfast who is a loving caring person. Last but not least Gusti who is very professional and helpful and helped us with a driver early in the morning. I want to say thanks for the garden guy ( don't know his name ) who followed us with scooter to bring us breakfast pack that we forgot to take on the last morning. I'm sitting at the port going to Gili islands as I write this but I miss Alam Indah. Such a special place. I will come back and tell my South African friends to stay at your place. You are in the right business because you cater to all customers' needs. Will miss you all

This is the BEST accomodation you can find that is very close to Ubud (the resort organizes a shuttle if needed for free), yet tranquil and in harmony with nature. It is so breathtakingly beautiful and relaxing and in case you don't know where to go, choose this resort. You will not be disappointed! Amazing food, amazing people, amazing nature (monkeys included ;) ). To the great staff: thank you!

My home away from home —but so much more beautiful. With wonderful staff who after several visits feel like friends. Bali has undergone so many changes in the last twenty years and staying in a small Balinese owned and run hotel makes all the difference in your experience.

We're definitely falling in love with this place by the strong and great points below: 1. Absolutely lovely boutique Balinese resort! The room we've got an upgrade to stay is Gardania room which is very spacious, very clean and can see pool view and green nature views from the bedroom, bathroom and also terraces. We had very good sleeping, the bed, pillows are very good. The sofa beds downstairs are very comfy.Flowers are everywhere in the room and also around the resort, so beautiful garden. The views are all green, making us so refreshing and relaxed. 2. Very warm welcomed, prompt service and excellent staff! We had Gusti, Dewa to coordinate with us on email and kindly offered us an upgrade. We had Wayan who took care us in the resort as well. Komang is our driver who took us around Ubud, Andre who helped advised us for traveling and sharing very good conversation. There are more reception ladies that i couldn't remember the names, sorry, but they are all very friendly lovely, polite and professional staff who took care us the best during our stay. 3. Nature, jungle & monkeys are all around! Do not worried for monkeys, they are around but there are staff keep watching them not to mess with you. You can see them jumping from one tree to another, you can see the way they live, and can give some fruits to them if you want. It's really wonderful experience living around the green jungle and see animals like birds singing, insects, monkeys etc..it's like a magic waking up in the morning with nature calling! We don't really want to leave this place. Even it's covid-19 period, if you want to come for a short stay, or even work from home (in this jungle boutique hotel), you will not disappointed at all! It's peaceful, relaxed, and you can enjoy nature around or walk few minutes to great cafe/resto outside too. This place is a truly hidden gem in the jungle! Please do not hesitate to book here for wonderful stay and jungle experience. Thank you so much everyone there for very warm welcomed and took care the best of us. We will definitely come back again! Best regards, Narisa & Frederic

Beautiful grounds and amenities. Breakfast was good. We ate lunch there one time & it was OK, but not as good as breakfast. Can walk to town, but have to watch the traffic, monkeys and people selling wares, they can all get a little assertive. Hotel arranged a driver for us, and we liked him so much, we used him the entire time we were there. Saw the wood carvings, rice fields,Holy Temple & Rock Temple. We saw Leong Dance in town and hadmade reservations at our hotel for dances in another location on another night, but when we got there, it had been cancelled. Really wish we had been informed of that before we got there, kind of wasted evening. We also visited Mason's Elephant Park in Taro. I know some people feel this is a kind of exploitation, but all elephants have been resuced from Sumatra. If there weren't here, would they even be alive? We did not "swim" with or ride the elephants, but we did give one a bath and were thrilled to be able to be close to these magnificent creatures!

Enjoyed my stay in the Lotus room. Gusti and staff are very good hosts and I would happily return for another visit. The shuttle service was very convenient. The complimentary afternoon tea was a welcome diversion otherwise I could have relaxed without moving too far at all. Thankyou to the staff for making it such a pleasant visit. There are monkeys that will come onto the property but that was part of the bali contrast, staff do move them away so they didnt cause any issues. Their isnt a spa on sight but the associated Wangi spa is close by.

Let’s start with the great stuff: beautiful villas in authentic Balinese style. Nice breakfast a la carte. Friendly staff. Free shuttle service to the center. What a garden! But on the downside: monkeys everywhere, they should do more to keep them off the premises and out of the swimming pool! It’s not hygienic and dangerous for our 4 yr old. The villas need to be upgraded, keeping the traditional style but with modern comfort standards. Now they’re full of insects. And you pay the price for a luxury resort, even off season. So not in balance for us
