Melati Cottages are set in a beautiful location, the staff are very nice (especially the man on reception and the ladies who serve breakfast), and the pool is lovely. Unfortunately Room 5 had an infestation of big ants, which ruined my stay here. There was an ants nest under the bath and the room was crawling with them in the... More

Melati is like a second home to us. We have spent one month there moth this year and last year. No, it is not the most flashy place in Ubud and yes, the wifi sometimes has its issues. But to us that just adds to the charm and authenticity of this place. Melati is owned by Balinese people and this... More

Melati is in a great location right up the hill from the main town and next to many great restaurants. The staff at Melati really stand out. They are welcoming, helpful and always great you with a smile. Since this is a Balinese run place you get some insight into the Balinese way of life by seeing offerings made each... More

The best things about Melati are the absolutely beautiful grounds and the friendly, accommodating staff. The driver, Ketut, was especially helpful and friendly. Our room was nice, if a little dated. It had a large balcony attached with garden views. The pool area is also nice and relaxing. I thought the location was good because it was tucked back a... More

I always come back here when I visit Ubud. The main entrance is by the street (so it's convenient for drop off and pick up) but the back door opens into the rice paddies where you can take peaceful walks along cafes, yoga studios, spas, art galleries, stores with no car insight. The property is really big, with endless gardens,... More

Get the impression this place has been resting on its laurels for a while given the popularity of the Ubud region. The building we stayed in as well as the reception area were very tired and the pool could have been cleaner. The staff is very friendly but let us down a few times when they said they'd find out... Great place for travellers wanting a more tranquil place to stay. The gardens are huge and well maintained. The rooms are big and clean with a bit of a rustic Bali feel. The pool area is great for families as well as solo travellers wanting to just read a book. Staff were friendly. Wifi connection can be a bit erratic... More

I stayed in Melati Cottages when flights were cancelled back to Australia due to the Volcanic Ash cloud. The Staff and the designated driver for Melati, Ketut could not have made my ordeal easier. They were so supportive and kept my room in case the flight would be cancelled again. I loved the atmosphere and the Balinese hospitality. Big thank... More
