I've stayed at Nefatari several times over the years usually with family. Like many with their favorite hotel or villa in Bali, I feared for the business making it through the pandemic but thankfully they have remained in business. I hope your favorite has too. To my knowledge, Nefatari is probably some of the best value in Ubud. Where else can you get your own private villa with a pool in secluded privacy for around $100 AUD a night? Whilst it's maybe a twenty minute walk from Ubud, the payoff is the serene environment the villas are located in amidst rice fields. Getting to Ubud is easy - just ask the staff to drive you and they will happily oblige. Same deal for return. Nefatari has always had the feel of being a family run business with the added benefit of Mr Made's five star professionalism. The wifi has improved markedly over the years - it can still be spotty at times but generally is very good with multiple wifi boosters across the compound. The food has some solid, inexpensive options to back up your other Ubud dining experiences from time to time. Great people, great villas, great value .. what more could you want?

In all fairness I would probably usually give this property a 4* review however I found the staff to be exceptionally helpful and it was great value for money.
The villa was really spacious although slightly dated. Gardens well maintained and very private. although the location isn’t fantastic there is a free shuttle in to ubud on demand before 2200 each day. They were kind enough to pick us up and drop us off to a restroom along the way. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast was amazing and served on demand in the room and the afternoon tea each day was also exceptional (also served in the room).
They also allowed us a late checkout which was greatly appreciated.
My only real gripe with the property was the cleanliness. The towels were all stained (though replaced immediately when I requested it). However upon getting in to bed I found the sheets were also very stained and there was a full face of makeup on my pillow. If they upped the cleaning standard I would absolutely stay again.

We stayed in April as part of our honeymoon and it was great.

Location: in a remote calm area in ubud yet not far (around 10 minutes) from center.

Shuttle: Free shuttle is available to take you from hotel to center or any other place in ubud. Just give a notice 15 minutes ahead and they will take you. Also they pick you up for free too, just call them and they will come.

Villas: the hotel have a one or two room villa with private pool. We took a one room villa with private pool. Very spacious, very clean, with terrace. Indoor and outdoor bathroom. Indoor bathtub.

Breakfast: is served in your villa. You order the breakfast the day before from the menu and tell them at what time to get them in the morning. They were always on time.

Airport pickup: they picked us up from the airport for free despite arriving late at night. And on our check out they dropped us in our next hotel in kuta for free also!

I do not know where to start. The photos on booking.com are outdated, this place looks much better in real life. This is honestly the best place to stay in Bali. The staff are the most kind and welcoming people who bend over backwards to make you feel at home.

We travelled with our baby and they were just AMAZING with her. Every morning there would be a staff member there to pick her up and they'd all take such good care of her. She would often go missing into the kitchen, we could hear laughter and she'd be returned with flowers in her hair and treats. The breakfast here is so delicious. Unlike other accommodations, they do not have strict rules on breakfast, you can eat as much as you like and they always ask if you want more. The Bali coffee is the best we've had. We loved the French toast, nasi Goreng, fruit platter, banana juice and omelette. They also serve you breakfast until 1pm. They also offer free afternoon tea with coffee/tea and banana fritters (which are divine).

One of the other great things about Nefatari is the unlimited free shuttle into and out of Ubud between 7am and 10pm. You just grab the whatsapp number and text them for pick up where you are.

One night we wanted to go out for dinner without bub, and Giru, one of the Nefatari ladies stayed back to look after her. Our baby already loved her from breakfast and she was great with her.

Ketut is a delight, he's great with our baby and organises everything for your stay. He remembers what you want in the morning and always has a chat. Putu,Kadek and Ari are also beautiful people, and once again great with our baby.

I asked if we could have a flower bath one night, the staff organised this, no problem.

The villa is clean, spacious, the pool is beautiful and the staff are always sneaking in a cleaning the room multiple times throughout the day. They have mosquito incense at night.

There is also a fantastic massage lady who comes to your villa. It's so easy to get a massage with a baby. And it's only $15 AUD.

We love Nefatari and make a point of visiting when we come to Bali. The staff really are fantastic and this is a great place for children. They even let my sister and her husband and kids visit, no problems.

THANK YOU Nefatari family.

This has been one of our most wonderful stays…beautiful accommodation, beautiful grounds. Nothing was too much trouble. Just outside of Ubud, there is a courtesy ride to take you into and out of Ubud central. No need to book, just anytime you are ready up until 10pm.
Eat in at your villa or at the small open air restaurant…not a large range of dishes but this is because everything is local and fresh with no wastage and still has everything you could want or need. Just loved it.

I was lucky to stay at Nefatari for 5 wonderful nights. The villa is completely private and you have your own pool. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful and tried their best to please throughout my stay. I am so grateful to Made for helping to make my stay longer and also helping with a botched booking.com booking. I’ve learnt that when you book through the booking agencies they take a huge percentage of costs so always try to book directly with Nefatari. Their room servicemeals are delicious and very well priced.
Afternoon tea and transport to aubud is included. They seem to have thought of everything to make for a wonderful holiday. Thank you all at Nefatari

We stayed here for 4 nights and simply loved it. The room, bathroom, the private pool, the whole outdoor area was just perfect.

I think there are 9 or 10 villas here, but we would never know because it was so beautifully spaced out. Like the whole property was to ourselves. We would meet people at breakfast. We stayed at Mittir villa, it was the best. I am definitely going back there to stay! The hospitality was amazing too.

They have a free shuttle to the Ubud market till 10:30pm, which is very useful since its away from there. Breakfast and evening snacks also great. Would hope for more vegetarian options in general across hotels in Bali.

Our family of 8 stayed in 2 villas, a one bedroom and a two bedroom. The service was exceptional and the staff were only too willing to help and advise as well as provide transport to anything we wanted to do in Ubud.. The breakfasts served by our pools if we wishes were excellent.

The Villa was large and located just outside the center, the shuttle is free and was always available.
Depending on the time of day, the journey to the center (or back) takes between 15 and 45 minutes. Also means that you may have to wait a little longer for the car if you want to return.
We would have to get to the airport very early, that worked well too.
The staff was friendly, as is usual throughout Bali.
Attempts have always been made to make all wishes possible. Only 1 employee ever tried to manipulate us.
We had the impression that he wanted it differently.

We stayed with friends for 3 nights there and had booked 2 villas.
We have been there due to the extremely good reviews.
We could not understand the high ratings.
The villas are very worn out, so many light switches and sockets look dirty, but are worn out.
Our toilet wobbled and looked very worn too. We didn't go to the pool because it didn't look confidence-boosting.
It was certainly once a great place to stay, but it was longer ago. The breakfast was good but also no different than in other accommodations.
We would not book there again.

The villa we stayed at have about 10 steps. There are also steps to get into main lobby (5) and to the hotel dining area (8-10). I believe the other villas do not have stairs. Hope this is helpful
