Plataran is a lovely hotel. The staff and management are amazing and the location is perfect in Ubud. Conveniently located to the food, shopping, Yoga Barn (there’s even a short cut). I stayed for one week and chose for location and the gym. I highly recommend the deluxe room over the superior. Great place to stay in Ubud!
We booked this place because we had a great experience at Plataran Bromo last year in December. And again, it was great. All the staff were very warm and friendly, including the driver who took us on a short tour. The plataran junior for kids was also good. The room and facilities are up to expectation. Plataran has been consistently good for my group so far. Good job!
We had a lovely experience during our honeymoon visit. We stayed in the premiere deluxe room. They had prepared a special honeymoon welcoming cake and decorations when we arrived, which we thought was really nice. Amazing service was also seen from the staff when we asked for the welcoming cake replacement( they provided a chocolate cake that I was allergic to), which comes within minutes after we asked. We had a fantastic view from our balcony; overlooking to the forest, the paddy rice field, and the pool. There was ongoing renovation work at some parts of the resort, which was surprisingly not loud at all. The food was absolutely great. We appreciate the moderation of the recipe for our spice tolerance (even though my husband loves spicy food, the chef managed to give him what he wants!) and the high-quality food provided. The location of the resort was in the heart of Ubud, a very convenient resort if you would like to walk to most places in Ubud (i.e 5 mins to the Sangeh, Monkey Forest Temple, 20 mins to the Palace and Market). We would be more than happy to come back to Plataran on our next Bali trip :)…
The staff are warm throughout your visit and you can use the facilities if you arrive early or leave past check out time. The room is clean and well air conditioned. A lovely surprise evening snack is left at your room daily. The breakfast options are varied and all taste great. Upon check in, the staff informs you there is construction on the property. This is supposed to be the case till July 2023, so there are construction workers all over outside and near and around the pool and around the property, so keep that in mind if you want a peaceful swim session. The spa treatments are okay, though the shower in the Parvati spa room was clogged and flooded part of the room. The hotel offers a variety of daily activities, however you have to sign up 24 hours in advance. If you plan on checking in early, get in touch with the property and schedule ahead of arrival. The property is quite large/deep, and it’s a bit of walk to the rooms from the entrance/exit, so make sure you have everything when you head out. LOCK YOUR BELONGINGS Secure your belongings in the room – over half my currency in cash went missing during my two-night stay. I packed three types of currency in my suitcase, and half of each currency was taken. It’s like they took just over half, so that with just under half still left, if you squeezed the pouch, it felt like cash was there and all was fine. It’s only when I went to count each currency did I realize half of each was missing. Too strategic to be the thief’s first time! The way the cash was taken felt like an invasion of privacy as it meant someone went through my belongings in my room. The hotel’s response with their Director of Operations reading what felt like a scripted ‘this doesn’t happen at our resort’ wasn’t very helpful or meaningful. While they say they checked their CCTV, there’s no way for them to verify what went on in the room while the cleaners were there. Unsure if me and my room were more of a target cause I was a solo woman traveller. I knew I was out of luck as soon as I noticed the missing cash, so I reported this and am posting this review in hopes that this five-star hotel enhance it’s internal practices, privacy, security and put measures in place to ensure their staff don’t take things from visitors’ rooms. This was the only hotel that didn’t mention housekeeping practices at check in and by the time I requested that no one enter my room, my room had already been entered. If you’re not into getting housekeeping, I’d suggest letting them know at check in and flipping the wood thing at the door as soon as you first get to your room, and then calling for a la carte cleaning or replenishment. In efforts to be “warm, the staff ask a multitude of questions throughout your stay on where you’ve arrived from, where you’re going next, where you’ll be staying, who you’re travelling with, what you have planned for the day, etc. In retrospect, I’d encourage solo women travellers to divulge less.…
This is a truly wonderful place to stay while in Ubud. The staff are incredibly professional and polite and always stopped to ask us how our day was and what we were upto. They helped organise a great set of trips for us, which was lovely. The rooms are spacious, clean, well set out and quiet. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of options for Westerners.would definitely stay again
Some construction going (no noise) on at the resort that did not affect us at all, but it seems more activities will be available in the future. Staff was very friendly and always helpful. Free coffee and snacks are served at 4pm which is nice. Many evenings live bands playing in the lobby, we enjoyed them a lot. Haven't tried breakfast or any of the activities offered by the resort.
Best hotel ever. Everything is just perfect: is clean, smells nice, the bed is comfortable, the shower have hot and cold water. The pools are beautiful, the breakfast ir very good, nice quality of food. They take care of every detail, cookies and chocolates as a gift every night before sleep time. The location is very good, you can go walking to many places, you have atm near by, supermarket. This is the right place tu stay in ubud
Such a wonderful experience! My partner and I visited here for a week. The location central in town while being quiet and peaceful, but the staff was the true highlight. Every person was so accommodating, friendly, and helpful. This place is more than a hotel, with multiple restaurants and pools, activities and experiences hosted by the facility, and a staff willing to answer any questions and recommend local attractions. We look forward to coming back.
It was as a very nice comfortable hotel to stay with a great panoramic view and high standard friendly Balinese staff who will make u want to come and stay longer as your own family and feel at your own house ❤️
My partner and I had a lovely 7 night stay in Plataran - the staff were always friendly and accomodating, the food was great, and the pools were just what we needed. Also the spa was superb we had a couples massage and it was the best we have ever had. Matt
