My husband and I stayed 4 nights at Alaya during part of our honeymoon and it was AMAZING. The staff kindly gave us a free upgrade when they found out we were on our honeymoon! The suite was so spacious and comfy. I loved the huge bathroom, which had a big shower and a hot tub in the middle. We also had a serene balcony.
The breakfast was so delicious, you could either grab breakfast at the buffet or order a breakfast meal from a menu (surprisingly we liked this more than the buffet). So many people i know who have been to Bali complained about hotel breakfasts, but for us we looked forward to it every morning! We came late once and the staff was super nice about it and didn’t mind at all. The staff are so so accommodating, always willing to help, always smiling and asking us if we need anything.
And the location! Perfect! You walk out onto the street and you find a bustling main street with cafes, restaurants, gift shops, massage parlors and everything. You walk back into the hotel and suddenly you’re in a calm relaxing oasis.
So many small things that make this place feel so special. Upon arrival we were greeted with cold towels and drinks, every day there is afternoon tea at the lobby (free), they sent us a complimentary cake for our honeymoon, they offer a photo session (we missed ours and still regret it!), the shampoos conditioner soaps are all custom make, smell fabulous and can be purchased
Thank you so much Alaya! Our honeymoon wouldn’t have been the same without you.

My boyfriend and I spend 5 incredible nights at Alaya Hotel in Ubud. The hotel gorgeous! Each space is thoughtfully decorated with beautiful Balinese furnishings. We stayed in a Deluxe Room which is stunning and has a beautiful view of the rice fields. Alaya is perfectly situated in the middle of town, 10 minutes walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest and next door to Yoga Barn. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance no matter which way you turn out of the hotel.
I would absolutely recommend a spa treatment at DaLa Spa and a meal at either of their delicious restaurants. Also, don’t miss afternoon tea! The kitchen prepares locally sourced sweets that are divine!
The hotel will also set up tours for you so you can enjoy the local culture and sights. During our stay we went to a rice terracing field, coffee plantation, volcano, waterfall and many gorgeous temples. The drivers are incredibly knowledgeable and kind (we are especially thankful to Darwita, Weian and Bayu for making our tours so enjoyable!).
The entire staff at Alaya are wonderful and they really make you feel at home in their hotel. We had an amazing experience and if we are fortunate enough to find our way back to Bali, we would stay here again, no hesitation!

The hotel is located only a 10 minute walk from the Monkey Forest. There are lots of restaurants and Spa Places within a stones throw. In fact, there is a very useful large super market right by it as well.

As for the hotel itself. Well, the reception is an open area right by the busy main road. You immediately get the impression that you would have to contend with alot of noise when sleeping but this was a deception. The rooms are actually way back of the hotel and it is genuinely peaceful. There are certain rooms that have advtantages over others. The rooms close to the spa (where I was) were further back and less likely to encounter any noise from other hotel guests. However, this meant a slightly longer walk back to the reception.

Accessibility is not the best for a stroller. There are no ramps in some parts of the resort so you would have to take out your baby and carry the stroller. We did find a useful shortcut to exit the hotel - which was to exit out the back entrance where the staff have their cigarette breaks. This goes directly to the back end car park.

Other good points are the excellent showers in our rooms as well as the alaya stone bath. We particularly enjoyed the buffet breakfast and made use of the flawless spa facility. Above all we were so grateful for the kind and attentive attitude of the staff towards ourselves and our children. Thank you Alaya Hotel :)

A wonderful oasis of calm amid the bustle of Ubud, this was a perfect base to rest and regenerate between sightseeing around Ubud and the local area.
The pools were quiet, no lounger hogging and the grounds were beautiful.
We had a suite for our family of four, which was enormous and luxuriously kitted out. Even the toiletries were wonderful.
The food in the restaurants was more expensive than outside the hotel which is to be expected, but was of really excellent quality - even the poolside bar menu.
We were given complimentary Balinese massage which was blissful.
I couldn't recommend this highly enough for those wanting a high end experience to complement their exploration of Bali.

What made it very special was how friendly and helpful all the staff were, even the groundskeepers had a smile and word of welcome. As first-time travellers to Bali we really felt reassured if there were any problems the staff would help us, including booking drivers and tours if we wanted (although we already had this organised).

Complimentary mineral water generously and frequently replaced in the room and insect repellent in the room were helpful touches!

After staying in the busy Legian for few days, we came to Alaya Resort Ubud greeted with warm smiles and entered the serene and peaceful green resort. We planned to just check-in then explore Ubud in the afternoon but instead we were just felt so relaxed and hang around in the daybed in balcony having a dreamy afternoon while listening to the bird’s songs. If you stay 3 nights or more, you’ll get the benefit of free 1hr massage or airport pick up/drop off, or theme night dinner.
Of course I choose the massage at Dala Spa, one of the best Spa in Ubud.

Different than what we expected in the sense that it is more of a traditional resort feel, lots of kids and the restaurants sort of Mexico vibe lacking uniqueness like many Bali have BUT if you want a great location in the bustle of Ubud close to great restaurants while still having a quiet room.. this is great. My spa experience with Yula (I think) was extraordinary! So professional, massage spectacular and mood was beautiful with the bath too. One of my favourite parts of the tip!

We really enjoyed our stay at Alaya Ubud. It’s truly a beautiful boutique resort in the heart of Ubud. The hotel is located on the main road so you can easily walk to restaurants, local markets, retail shops and the Monkey Forrest – a bonus is the supermarket nearby if you want to stock up on snacks and drinks. Our room was spacious, comfortable and overlooked the pool and tropical gardens. The staff were excellent, they are friendly courteous and go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The free daily afternoon tea was a lovely little treat that we looked forward to after a day of sightseeing. The daily breakfast was delicious although portion size was on the small side (maybe I’m being greedy but when I’m on holiday I like to let loose at breakfast as it sets me up for a day of exploring). The pool area is relaxing and your surrounded by beautiful gardens and rice fields. Its like being in an oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The only negative was the special buffet dinner with the BBQ’d pig (Maybe its becouse im comparing any bbq pig to Ibu Oka) – bit of a letdown however the entertainment on the night was wonderful – well done to all the staff and thank you for putting on a memorable night for all. We look forward to returning to Ubud and your wonderful resort.

This was the fourth consecutive year we have stayed at Alaya, and we feel it just gets better and better.

Location near Monkey Forest is great, Alaya rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large balconies with day beds and overhead fans, food is good, spa treatments are a luxurious experience and staff are genuinely friendly, kind, and caring.

We travel extensively, and can honestly say that the service at Alaya is among the best we have ever experienced. All of the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that guests are happy. We were shown so many kindnesses by the staff during our recent 12 day stay that it is impossible to mention everyone, but our daily encounters with restaurant staff Lisyana, Riska, Cinta and Passek made us feel extra special.

Correct. I don't think it has a shuttle but the location is quite central. Markets are walking distance and so is the Palace. I think its about 20min walk to Palace.
