Just thinking about it makes me so angry. It was the biggest disappointment I had during my trip to Bali. I specifically booked this place for a massage for my boyfriend’s birthday, thinking it would be romantic, serene and relaxing, only to arrive at this humid, dark cave that is the spa reception. I first went to the bathroom. IT WAS DISGUSTING. You would think that a high end spa like this , charging so much, would have a decent bathroom. NO, it has ONE unisex cubicle and its floor was wet and dirty, with a toilet that’s so old it should have be renovated 10 years ago. But I thought that’s okay, I’m sure the room where we receive the massage is very unique and beautiful. no, it was a humid and dark stone cave with a low, old, straw ceiling, with massage tables that were old and the bedsheets were moist and looked used. There was a bathtub in there too, that was cracked and old and frankly, you won’t want to receive a massage there. Then, We started the massage. I put my head into the hole and first thing I saw was a damn spider. I told my masseuse and she proceeded to use her bare hands to grab it and throw it away. Then she used the same hands without washing them on my body and face. 5 minutes into the massage, we heard people walk past our room, where I was completely naked with my butt exposed and the masseuse had no intention to ask the man to leave. I then asked her to cover my body, and she shut the curtains of this cave. Now I’m in a dark, humid cave with no ventilation, great. Then a while later, it got so hot we asked to turn on the fan. Now all we can hear is the stupid fan and the people chatting walking past our cave. We can’t hear none of that natural flowing river. It was just incredibly disappointing and disgusting. It was definitely the most non-relaxing massage I’ve ever had in my life. The massage itself was alright, but for the price I was paying (270,000 idr), it was 100000% not worth it. I could easily get amazing massages at 190,000 idr. It also didn’t actually last for an hour. We started at 5:05 and by the time we were all done and changed and went back up to the reception, it was 6:00. Other than that, the service at the spa was worse than a street massage parlour and the environment is a joke. It is misleading compared to its photos and everything there, including the decor and items are so old that it truly is not worth its price.

We stayed in Tjam for two nights and found the property very beautiful, clean and complete tranquility. The king bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and very clean. The staff were very attentive and helpful anytime we needed anything or just simply the greeting we got when we arrived back at the hotel after shopping or sightseeing or just simply walking around the beautiful property. The breakfast was not the best and I couldn’t actually eat much at all unfortunately but I wasn’t there for the food I was there for the accomodation and that lived up to all our expectations and more. We would certainly come back to stay if we are ever in Ubud again.

Bali... Ubud what a wonderful, peaceful, safe and busy place to visit. I had no idea what to expect in Ubub. Today we went to visit the waterfalls, Rice paddy, volcano area and coffee plantation. Highly recommended and we had a fantastic driver as well.
