We have been exploring Bali for 3 weeks and have stayed in different hotels but Kamandalu defenitely was THE BEST place we stayed at during our holiday! I can’t even put into words how amazing our time there was. I can only say you need to go to discover it yourself. The location is beyond beautiful. The villa we were staying at was huge. The bathroom had 2 huge glass windows which offered you a splendid look into your own beautiful private garden with pool and jungle overlook. When we walked outside our room we could also enjoy an incredible infinity pool with jungle overlook and a pool up at the deck of the hotel. The restaurants were all BEYOND a-ma-zing. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary so had a private dinner at the lagoon the first day and a dinner in a tipi at the tipi garden the other day. We had lunch in the lagoon as well on a cute, yellow boat surrounded by 1000’s of fishies. We enjoyed a romantic flower bath with appetizers and of course had floating breakfast at our private pool. We also visited the spa where we woke up to the sounds of nature in a forest swing bed followed by a duo massage. We literally are SO grateful for the wonderful time we had. An unforgettable anniversary for sure. We already can’t wait to come back to Kamandalu. A HUGE thank you for the BEST time & anniversary we could have wished for! Xx

Loved the hotel - it was like stepping inside a separate Balinese city - especially since it was so serene and quiet. They had the famous rice fields inside the hotel too, making it appear like a miniature, albeit quieter, Ubud inside Ubud. The rooms were lovely, even lovelier than some of the pricier hotels I have ever stayed at. My room was surrounded by dense foliage. I especially loved the passage from the reception area to my room. I had most of my meals at the restaurant overlooking the pool, which was, again, a great experience :) The forest spa experience right in the tropical Petanu Valley is something I'll always remember. The staff was also accommodating and, upon request, was quick to shift me into a room that was closer to the reception.

We booked the forest dining experience for our wedding anniversary. It started and ended extremely badly. For such a highly rated and priced hotel, the service was the worst I have ever experienced. To start, the dining experience is on a platform which has a stunning view. That is the only positive of the dinner. The dinner was sold as an intimate and romantic setting. Unfortunately the server provided to serve the 6 course dinner did not understand English very well. I overlooked this by using a translate app. The water and bread took 35 minutes. There was 1 mosquito coil and the candles around the table looked like they were ready to extinguish. We asked for mosquito spray and then asked to be taken to the alternative area as it was far too dark and we could not see in front of us. The alternative area was the yoga studio, which was emptied and filled with 2 chairs and a table. The appetiser then came, but unfortunately it was covered in flies. We raised this to the server, but his solution was to clear the table cloth and replace with another one. This took 20 minutes and the food still contained the flies. By then we asked to see a manager. The server called the manager but 45 minutes later no appearance so we left and found the duty manager in the lobby. He advised he could not discuss a refund or alternative until he discussed with the general manager, who was not present or contactable. There were other guests who could not find the restaurant locations, as the staff were not able to assist with basic queries. It is a real shame. Location is nice, and hotel seems to look nice. However if hygiene and basic customer service cannot be addressed, I am unsure how this hotel charges a premium to their guests. I do not usually write negative reviews, but I had to this time. To ensure nobody else books an intimate dinner with Kamandalu like this, as it may be ruined.

We started our Bail round trip at this beautiful resort and it couldn't have been better. The resort is beautiful, extremely well maintained and equipped with every luxury imaginable. The rooms are spacious, the beds excellent and the same goes for the bathrooms. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower and were big fans of the bathrobes from day 1, which we were lucky enough to buy from the shop before we left - a great memory to take home. The food is excellent, starting from the very varied breakfast menu with all kinds of freshly prepared egg dishes, waffles, noodle soups, hot Indonesian specialities and of course fruits and juices. There is no better way to start a day. There is a hotel shuttle to Ubud, which we used often. Very convenient and comfortable. It takes less than 20 minutes to get to the centre of Ubud, even with heavy traffic. You can also book a taxi if the shuttle times don't suit you. We also used the laundry service - quick, uncomplicated and pleasant smelling. The staff is incredibly friendly, no matter if reception, restaurants, housekeeping or drivers. It was this friendliness that made our holiday such a wonderful experience, it's the people that make this place so special. During our stay my friend had her 50. birthday and the staff surprised us with a lovely and delicious cake – thank you again! Thank you for this perfect start to our holiday, we will never forget it and hope to be guests there again soon.

Had the best time here. Beautifully done rooms. Had a package of 2-3 different things with the room, which they added and changed at our request, because we were vegetarians, and also even though we had taken lunches and treks, they changed it to our requests on what's app! excellent service! the best meal I've had on day 1 dinner that too in a forest setting. Its not too far from ubud Centre, plus they have shuttles up and down. would definitely go back here

This is my second time staying at Kamandalu and I can’t recommend this resort enough. The staff are all so lovely and the resort itself is gorgeous. Tucked into a lush jungle valley with rice terraces and a river, it feels like an oasis. The complimentary shuttle into the center of Ubud is every hour and only takes 15 minutes. You can also walk in if you don’t mind some hills. The spa is top notch and the custom robes are so nice you’ll want to take them home. They sell them in the gift shop in two colors. The rooms are very spacious and luxurious. The private outdoor shower is also heavenly and the daybeds are perfect for a read or a nap. What really makes Kamandalu so exceptional is it’s wonderful staff and how well taken care of they make you feel! I highly recommend this resort for couples (it’s very romantic) and for families. Tips: - Splurge for a garden view private pool villa - best room for the price. Village Club status is included with this room reservation which adds some nice perks - Buy the robes as souvenirs. They are around $34 USD and hold up well. I bought two in 2017 and my husband and I wear them every day at home. - Take advantage of the complimentary morning yoga classes set in the forest - Worth it to get breakfast included. It’s a large buffet and they make eggs to order. Nice way to start your day of adventuring in Ubud or relaxing around the resort

This was our second time to Ubud, but the first to this resort. It is stunning! Great location. Very lush, beautifully maintained. The food is excellent. We ate most meals here. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices. We ate at the restaurant and by the pool a few times, both of which were great. Our room was amazing. We stayed in a Garden Villa. It was very spacious and ornately decorated. Each villa was very private with a private entrance. The patio had a day bed to relax as well. We did the koi pond boat ride with lunch. What an awesome experience! Our guide was Hendra, and he was wonderful. He was so nice and attentive. He took so many photos of us and made sure we had the best time. I highly recommend this experience! The fish are beautiful and healthy. The gift shop is excellent. I bought a beautiful robe and a few other things. The staff are all wonderful. Everyone was so nice, friendly, and helpful. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend for your stay in Ubud.

The hotel has been recommended by a local tour guide, vs recommendation by past visitors of the global chains. Choosing the hotel was great.... warm hospitality, extra friendly staff (as i will say in general on the Balinese we met... ), large and quiet rooms and well maintained facilities... great choice for Ubud
