We travelled round bali for 3 weeks and decided here would be our last stop. We thought we’d go out with a bang and picked this hotel as it looked so high end. Firstly the hotel lobby and the door staff are amazing and really friendly. The staff are nice and pleasant throughout and all welcome you and greet you. The place is spotless and the food is lovely. We just had a few problems during our stay which just dampened our views on this lovely hotel. We paid for a valley room, these valley rooms are the best they have. The pools look amazing online and the villas look large. When we went to our room it was late and we just got our head down but the next day we looked round our valley villa and the pool was nothing like the pictures which we thought was an infinity. The villa was also a lot smaller than the ones we’d seen. We double checked online what we’d seen and booked. We also watched people on YouTube and their rooms was nothing like what we’d been given. We went to reception and complained. To be fair the staff took us to a villa 2 doors up and asked us if we’d like to move to this one so we did. This villa was much larger with a sitting space and a bathroom double the size. The pool was also so much better. I would say be careful when booking these rooms as apparently they are all different which is fine but when they are lots smaller that’s quite unfair paying the same amount. We also went to the desk the day after check in and asked what availability they had for the boat which you can have a meal on they had no availability until we’d left so you need to book prior which I think an email a week before hand saying book in your activities wouldn’t have gone a miss. We asked what other meals they had available and they had a romantic meal setting for Saturday night which we booked as we wanted to make the most of the hotel. It got to the Saturday night and it was raining which can not be helped. At this point we should’ve been told that the meal can not go ahead if raining or they need to have some sort of canopy to cover from the rain. We arrived at our setting an rain was just dropping down our backs from the make shift thing that was above our heads. We asked to move so we were put in the corner of the cafe by the pool. They said they’d wait 30 mins to see if the rain stopped as they can’t do the meal if it rained not entirely sure why. It didn’t stop raining so they offered us Al a carte but when issued the menu it was just the same as room service? I shut the menu and we decided to go into town. We asked for a taxi and they said a driver could take us. No one mentioned a fee or it was charged to the room so just beware. We stayed in a lovely hotel before this and the driver was free but here it’s charged to your bill. The floating breakfast was nice, it’s huge with lots on it but mainly bulked out with fruit. It’s also all what’s on the free hotel breakfast so it’s just for a picture basically. We also paid for a spa treatment which came with smoothie bowls that we also never received. We also paid for a bbq which a few things were cut out of. We went on the mount Batur walk, this isn’t their fault as it’s booked with another company but thought the hotel. But to make sure they are aware during that walk my tour guide walked off and I walked to the top of that mountain alone and back down with a lovely guy who helped me. I was furious and really struggled. This company you are using is not reputable and the local tour guide was horrendous. He lost me at 4.30am and didn’t see me or speak with me again until 10am when I remembered the bus. All in all these are minor things all that can be rectified but when spending the money we did on the room and a further £500 in the hotel on extras I really expected a better service from them.

We stayed there during our honeymoon. This place was really really nice. I loved our room and private pool, and how nice and polite the staff were. One of the best things we experienced there was the picnic lunch. I highly recommend it for couples.

Wow! This place was really amazing. I went to Kamandalu in August 2022, and I loved everything :) I was very impressed by the structure and the services they offer, in particular if you're travelling with your partner you'll find very romantic spots where to enjoy dinner together. The villas are breathtaking, they are spacious and typical of the Balinese culture. Also the spa and wellness center they have is wonderful: it is located in the jungle, so the view and the vibes are so amazing! And the massages they offer are worth to try without any doubt. The staff is super kind and always ready to help. I think that everything was perfect, so I'd recommend it for sure!

Booked the Aira Deck private dining experience and it did not disappoint. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food (don’t be put off by the set menu, it’s all excellent) and accommodating to personal additions to make the evening truly special. Diah our host for the evening was a delight!

We just had 4 nights at Kamandalu and it’s been incredible. The setting and the grounds are world class and our room (valley pool villa room) was truly amazing. The island has been all but shuttered for the past 2 years and it’s lovely to see it blossoming again. The staff here are worthily of any hotel we have stayed. Always smiling and helpful. We had a wonderful massage in the forest spa, did the glory morning walk and a paddy trek and the ADV adventure. The only thing that doesn’t quite add up is it’s price, it’s such great value! You are spoilt for choice when considering which hotel to choose in Ubud, but if you’re thinking about going, add this place to your shortlist.

The resort offers wide range of experiences such as picnic on a boat in their private lagoon, romantic dinner setups with an amazing jungle overview and incredible massage therapies at their forest spa next to the iconic Kamandalu forest swing. Truly recommend this place if you would like to experience that magical Ubud vibe, sense of tranquility and remoteness in a rainforest.

Our stay and experience at Kamandalu was a dream come true. We have longed over famous Insta worthy snaps of this iconic resort perched a loft the Ubud rainforest and rice paddies for years now, and it was everything we could have hoped for. A warm welcome to the grand lobby set the tone throughout our stay. Fixtures and fittings of this world class resort are luxurious and Palace like. We stayed in the Valley view private pool villa which we loved. The infinity pool view over the rainforest, light, airy and spacious bathroom as well as the raised, four poster bed was fit for a king and queen. A highlight of our stay included floating breakfast at Villa Rama with endless views of the jungle and a diverse and delicious range of breakfast foods. We also loved our romantic flower bath with decedent delights such as camambert cheese and grapes, chocolate covered strawberries and chicken and fish canapés. A perfect start to our romantic evening enjoying a 3 course dinner and drinks on the lawns of the grounds. The lighting, food and service first class. We also enjoyed a lunch on the lazy river and particularly enjoyed feeding the fish for lunch too! Enjoying the scenery and Flora and forna throughout the grounds. A dream stay and a dream come true!

When decided to stay for several day in Ubud, we chose Kamandalu. The staffs were so kind and helpful; service was excellent. They served us with a love-shaped cake and afternoon tea. We love the taste of the food, it was really good, makes you want to order more. Also, the safety protocols were strict. For those who are looking for a private villa with excellent service, do choose Kamandalu.
