Sort of disappointed with this hotel. We stayed 2 nights and left early. The bed was extremely uncomfortable as well. I asked for a king bed and they have assembled two single beds together with a height that is more than a chair and a ceiling just above your head giving you bunk bed feeling. Almost twisted my ankle while coming down from the bed. Aircon was not effective on one corner. Complained multiple times no action taken . Requested for a fan - not given. The room furniture was ancient with space from all gates . The room does not look like a chalet at all it is just a hotel room . Better off on the roof terrace for a comfortable bed.Mold problem and mildew. Can not watch TV properly as bed height was more than where TV was placed on the table. Serious negligence in understanding the aesthetics. Water bottles was the most annoying part - as they were canned style and the only opener was in the toilet fixed to wall. So every time you need water you go to toilet to open it. Just was not a 5 star experience we were hoping Staff was helpful , management was not Good Cleaning - 2 times everyday Breakfast- not many veg options but they prepared separate veg Sandwitch for us

Best location excellent hospitality, how ever I wasn’t happy with the pricing for the couple photograph it was over priced, Took 21 photos of us and were asking $700 aud for soft copy that was a rip off, Wasted 2 hours of us posing and at the end I decided not to go ahead.

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the villas which had its own pool and view of “the jungle”. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, organised our transport, had daily cocktails, a private large room with ensuite. A fantastic large private pool! Everything was quiet and serene. We had our first meal in the restaurant, nice food but hot and humid so second night had it delivered to our room. Order the special dinner the last night (a big birthday) which is located down candle lit steps, a table just for two and 6 course dinner. A lovely end to our stay. Took a trip into town centre and grabbed some shopping at the market. The hotel also organised a private tour of local places to see including rice terraces, coffee tasting, bartik store, gold and silver stores, art galleries and more. All at our own pace and while seeing the people and countryside, A great way to see the hustle bustle of ubud while having a tranquil safe haven and swim to come back to each day to cool down!

Room Tip: Take private tour, not expensive & goes where you want. The market has lots of bits (take cash)...

Kamandalu Resort in Ubud, in my opinion, is a classic traditional Balinese style of villas situated in a tranquil and peaceful "forest-like" location. It is simply beautiful with rice fields in view. We thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, services provided and especially the food. All members of staff have been so kind, friendly and always helpful in all manner of things, especially Darsana, Merta, Iwan and Sakthivel. Congratulations to the staff.

I am not sure I have the words to express how great our stay at Kamandalu was. My sister in law got married in Bali and held the reception at Kamandalu, so the whole family stayed on property for the week. One of the reasons she chose Kamandalu in the first place was because I have Celiac disease and the resort had great celiac/gluten free/allergy reviews. And let me tell you, they lived up to those great reviews! I was able to speak with the chef when we arrived and confirm that they would be able to safely feed me. I had breakfast every morning and a handful of dinners on property. The staff, from the kitchen to the servers, all went above and beyond- remembering my name, letting me know when my food would take longer, adjusting menus so that my meals weren’t repetitive, making my own food from the back for breakfast rather than risking cross contact from the buffet, etc. Everything from the gf pancakes, steamed rice bread, poached eggs, spring rolls, traditional Balinese and Indonesian food, to the grilled steak and vegetables was delicious! Beyond the food, Kamandalu was just such a treat to stay at. The resort is GORGEOUS- we loved the pool with swim up bar, incredible morning yoga, fantastic massages at the spa (I believe I had Daisy at the Chaya Spa- one of the best massages I’ve ever had), beautiful landscaping, well-tended chalet, and incredibly sweet staff. Bali is quite a trek from the US, but we WILL be back to stay at this resort again someday and cannot wait

Beautiful hotel in Ubud! From the grand entrance to lobby and then to the rolling green lawns, colorful fish ponds. Very peaceful and serene. You get a private villa with your own yard, very nice spacious room and big bathroom with all necessary toiletries. Complimentary fruits and sweets. The staff was outstanding, very friendly and attentive. The food was good, nice variety. The only problem was the feeling of dampness in the room. Overall we enjoyed our stay here very much and would definitely recommend his wonderful hotel!

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of our Bali trip. We had arrived from staying at the Ulaman which was incredible and there was a stark difference in service at Kamandalu from the moment we arrived. The place seems dated, the decor could do with updating throughout. The rooms are very spacious but just didn’t seem fresh. The restaurants didn’t look great. We had lunch by the main pool whilst waiting for our room to be ready and it was just basic and unappealing. Breakfast was ok but only egg dishes are a la carte, the rest is buffet. We had the floating breakfast one day and arrived at the awana pool to find no staff there and a half eaten breakfast tray floating around the pool! A staff member eventually arrived but couldn’t understand us when we said we were there for breakfast! When the breakfast eventually did arrive it was a nice experience although quite hard to eat in the pool if you are short as the water is fairly deep. Prior to going to the hotel I had contacted them to book a massage and the lunch on the boat. I told them that I was vegetarian and needed a veggie lunch. They tried to charge me extra for that!! Surely a dietary requirement should not be more expensive! Especially when veggies are cheaper than meat! They also gave me a ‘special price’ for the message which was the same price as online so nothing special at all. The massage at forest spa was the best part of our stay and the only 5* experience at Kamandalu. There is a shuttle bus to ubud town. We used this and waited for the return bus only for a ride family to push in front and get in the bus ahead of us meaning that we couldn’t get on. The driver didn’t say anything to them and drove them back. We had to wait 30mins for a taxi! The hotel did cover the cost of the taxi but it was an inconvenience. We were there for our anniversary and nothing was said about it by the hotel. I would not recommend Kamandalu and would stay elsewhere but I would go to forest spa for a massage
