After staying in a resort with a friend, I had one more night as a solo traveller. As I was going to the Yoga Barn I found this place right next door, so it was convenient to stay there and affordable. I stayed in a deluxe room upstairs which was huge, clean and basic. The bathroom was clean with a spa bath with a shower head that I could not attach anywhere above me which was a bit awkward as I had to hold the shower head while washing. It rained on the one day I stayed there so I didn't get a chance to enjoy the poolside which looked pleasant. I also didnt have time to visit their spa which did have interesting therapies on their menu that I would have liked to have tried, that combine Ayurveda and Bali Ushada treatments, that focus in the lymphatic system.
There is wi fi in the rooms, although sometimes intermittent. Overall the place is value for money, clean, quiet with friendly staff. If you are going to spend some time at the Yoga Barn, this place is very convenient.

Stayed here originally for only two nights and then extended for 3 more. I just couldn't leave, until I wanted to stay even longer and they were sold out. Boo!! I stayed in one of the shared bathroom rooms, and couldn't have been happier. The price was very reasonable for the quality and amenities offered at the hotel. The poolside breakfast is delicious, although repetitive, but is a great place to meet other guests. The coffee/tea is the only weakness, but hop next door to the Kafe at the Yoga Barn to get your 'fix' if needed. The staff is very friendly, but at first I thought they were 'inattentive' until I observed the culture more through visits around town. The Balinese aren't going to anticipate your needs or get in your way. You need to let them know when you need something and what you need and then they will help you out with an amazing level of service. As long as you keep this in mind, you will get along well here and they will also welcome you with wonderful and genuine smiles. It's a very laid back environment. If you are planning to visit the Yoga Barn a lot, you cannot beat the location. The swimming pool here is great for cooling off in the afternoon!

I stayed here to do a retreat package that included accommodation, massage treatments and a few yoga classes.
I didn't realise that the Yoga Barn is literally next door, if I had known I probably would not have chosen the retreat package.
Check-in was a breeze, the exteriors and communal areas are beautiful and totally serene.
I stayed in the Lily room for the first 3 nights and it was a big room with a lovely sitting area outside. The bathroom was clean, however could do with a slight renovation.
On my first day, I got food poisoning from a nearby restaurant. The staff found out I was unwell, and they were kind enough to bring me hot water and extra pillows.
Breakfast by the pool is lovely.
The massages I had were fantastic.I had one from the lady and one from the boy who also works at the reception desk. It was incredibly professional and truly relaxing.
The yoga classes were up the road, about a 3-4 minute scooter ride. The yoga was excellent and there were only ever a small number of students. It was nice to be paid the extra attention. I have heard the Yoga Barn has about 15-20 people in their classes at a time. At the Ubud Bodyworks the most people in my class at any time was 3. The only downside was a herbal warm drink they make you drink at the end. It made me want to gag.
Wonderful place to stay and relax. The staff are friendly, helpful and go the extra mile.

I booked Ubud Aura on a recommendation from a friend as was looking for somewhere near yoga barn - The location couldn't be better it is right next door! Its also well placed in the cenre of Ubud for local shops and restaurants. Only trouble with this is the lane outside is busy with motorbike traffic heading up and down to yoga barn which if noise bothers you would be annoying.

Breakfast was varied and delicious and I never had to wait long for service. There is no restaurant in the hotel but you can order in from a local place - I didn't try this service so can't comment.

Staff were friendly - I used the airport collect service and the man was there waiting on my arrival - I spoke to people at Aura who had tried to use airport taxis that were unsure of the location and got lost finding it.

I had a relaxing massage and a first love facial and the facial was great but the massage a bit average.

I'd defo stay here again and I am already planning my next trip back.

If you are here to do yoga - then look no further than Ubud Aura. Right next door to Yoga Barn, close to the supermarket, laundry, restaurants and all the shops you could ever need- Ubud Aura Retreat Centre is the perfect location. The staff were all incredibly friendly and really made my stay all the more special. Thank you. The onsite massage therapists are also excellent. Value for money this place is fantastic. Breakfast is included as to was an awesome complimentary 15 minute foot massage on arrival! The single rooms are very small so if you can afford to upgrade I would recommend doing so. If you don't plan on spending much time in your room then you may find the single suitable for a few nights. I will most definitely stay here again on my return to Ubud!

I had a room on the second floor. The room is clean and the timber furniture is a bit run-down which is actually quite ok. The only thing I did not enjoy was a musky smell within the room, which could be overcome with burning of some aromatic incense if you have. Otherwise the location is great to hop into Yoga Barn. The breakfast is basic and the Balinese music at the pool is persistent, however, with most Balinese style resort that is the norm.

We've been living in Bali for the past four years and because friends of ours once recommended Aura to us we would sometimes send our friends here too. Now don't see my three points as a huge negative. The staff are great! The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are cumfy too. A good hot shower and a great pool. Aura is a good hotel and the location is sweet.

It's just that for Bali standards, the prices are quiet high for what you're getting. We remember this hotel being a lot cheaper and when asked reception upon arrival we were informed of renovations which "upped" the price. Dunno if the renovations could justify the price increase though.

That said; Aura Ubud is a good hotel with super staff but pricey when you know Bali well.

I didnt stay at this hotel, i was staying at the yoga barn, but decided to give the spa here a shot, and i felt the need to share this with fellow travellers.
I did the 45 min foot massage, and it was absolutely divine!!! I cant sing more praises to Dewa who took pride in doing such a good job. It was such an amazing experience for my achy tired feet. If only i had more time to try the rest of the massages available.
The interior is basic, dont expect luxury, but this is a place you want to come for a great massage with good value!

I spent 20 nights at Ubud Aura and it has become my "home" and base in Bali. I am in Uluwatu now (and have been traveling to other places in Bali/Lombok) always going back to aubud Aira. Thestagg is so friendly, they all know me now :) the breakfast is super healthy and a hoghlight for me. The rooms have all what I need - its very clean, organized, queen bed, AC, safe and a good bathroom. Definitely a great value. They have filtered drinking water for guests which is very green and therefore a delight (and save you some money ;) as well as separated garbages (green again). Finally, its next door to Yoga Barn so for me who went there everyday it couldn't be more convenient (the staff was so helpful during my detox program at Yoga Barn helping with everything I needed!). Looking forward to going back before leaving this amazing island (where I stayed 2 months).

This place was so good. The rooms were huge and clean. The breakfasts were awesome every day without fail. It was so quiet all the time, even by the pool. We split our time between a deluxe room which was fantastic and a superior which was similar but without a tv. For the minimal extra I'd go for a deluxe again as we preferred that end of the hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for us at any time. They organized all of our trips for us and we're so happy to do so. Will be back again next year.
