First of all, there are some good things about this hotel. It's located about a ten minute walk from Ubud city centre, and it was always quiet at night. Some days we felt the walk back and forth was a bit much, but it you value not hearing traffic or people at night, this is a good choice. The pool is nice, and the rooms have balconies with chairs and a table, which we used frequently. There are several set menus to choose from for breakfast, so there is variety in what you can eat. There wasn't a huge amount of food for breakfast, but fully adequate as far as we are concerned, and the food was good. The room was in good shape and the bed was comfortable. My sister and her boyfriend, however, had several cockroaches in their first room, but they were immediately given another room when they pointed this out. Our impression of this hotel was tainted on arrival, however. We had requested a baby crib for our infant son, and before my wife paid for the room she asked twice if they had one, to which the staff answered yes both times. There was no baby crib in the room, and as time passed and none was brought, we asked the staff about it. This was when they said that they don't have one, and that they would have to call a rental company to have one delivered. When we asked about the cost of this, they said it would be 250 000 rupiahs per day, which would be a total of one million rupiahs for our entire stay. This seemed absurd to us, since we paid two million rupiahs for the room for the entire stay. The staff member we spoke to blatantly refused to acknowledge that they had said there would be a baby crib before we paid for the room (which me, my wife, my sister and my brother-in-law can bear witness to). He blamed it on a misunderstanding (misunderstandings can happen, of course) and countered that not only had they allowed us to sleep three people in s room for two (which would seem obvious since we had booked for two adults and an infant), they had also included breakfast for our infant free of charge, although this is not normally included. The staff member also didn't have any good answer to why they hadn't replied to our email four months prior to check-in, where we specifically asked if they could supply a baby crib for us. In the end we had no choice but to pay the extra fee for the crib (which they wouldn't have been able to get if we had checked in after normal business hours). The staff member did negotiate a lower price for us. This was a real shame, since the staff was otherwise very friendly and helpful. There was one other minor incident where the entire hotel lost electricity. The staff said it would take 20-30 minutes to get it back, but when asked again after an hour they admitted that it has been a guess and that get has no idea how long it would take. In the end, it took four hours for the power to come back. Overall a good hotel, but take note of you are travelling with an infant.…
Nice time here. Fairly spacious room with a big balcony overlooking foliage. Room included kettle, tea/coffee, mini fridge. No safety deposit box, but you could lock the closet. The bathroom didn’t have a fan so things don’t really dry out. The included breakfast you could take in the restaurant area or have delivered to your room at a predetermined time. The pool was really nice.
I would like to start by dedicating this review to all the staff at Swahita Ubud. Upon arrival my family and I were warmly greeted by Ari and Agus and instantly put at ease. We were checked in effortlessly and in the most professional manner. The family room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and well equipped with a gorgeous terrace backing onto unspoilt forest. The breakfasts were freshly made and delicious. Not too far from the centre of Ubud and easy to find. The hotel pool was clean and safe with a shallow end for small kids, my three boys loved playing there. Again well done to all the lovely staff at Swahita, I would whole heartily recommend this hotel as your base to explore Ubud.
I took my little fam to Ubud for a short break after new year's eve celebration and stayed at Swahita Ubud. The charming boutique resort boasts greenery scenery overlooks to small valley and river. Really appreciated that we were upgraded to family suite as we were coming in four. Room was very clean, spacious and with a good wifi.., that we need...😁 Will be back
My family and I stayed at swahita in Dec 2019. The place is not fancy but very well kept and clean. The staff were amazing always friendly and willing to tend to all our needs. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. Pool was awesome and great for cooling down. If I could make one suggestion it would be for them to add some lighting to the back of the hotel, as it is very dark when sitting on the balcony at night. Location was good, a bit of a walk to the main street but not far. The staff really make your stay pleasant.
