This was not part of our original plan for visiting Ubad but turned out to be a very good call. The drive is not too far from Denpasar and it passes the Jungle Swing and the majority of tourist attractions in the area. The service is extremely sufficient, the food and drinks are amazing and the scenery is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and fitted out for luxury. We liked watching the sun go down over the rice paddies and enjoying the hot nights at the open air restaurant and bar. The buffet dinner is a must as it includes many local dishes and is cooked to perfection. The bar has a few cocktails that are exclusive to the venue and are amazing. PLEASE listen to staff when they explain where the animals are from and remember it is a RESCUE center. This venue is not government funded and they rescue elephants that would have been enslaved to work or would have died of starvation or worse. They are beautiful and majestic but they are still wild rescue animals. We think they do an amazing job (granted I don't work with animals) with limited space and limited funds. Please ask questions if you are concerned and don't jump to conclusions. We had an amazing once in a lifetime experience. We sat each night watching these giants sleep, swaying in the moonlight and serenading us with deep rumbling voices. Thank you to everyone there and we hope you continue with the good work.…
Learn so much about elephant from this place. Staffs were nice, helpful, and very friendly. Our guide explained alot about elephant. We were taking save now and stay later program. Got elephant bathe + washing jumbo + elephant ride. Really amazed by this place. They take care the elephants really well. The elephants were trained with gentle and care.
What a wonderful experience my girlfriend and I had this past weekend. The park and facilities are outstanding, the staff are wonderful and very helpful. The restaurant items were superb and delicious, far superior to many other restaurants in Bali. The elephants are incredible, gentle, happy, playful, healthy, and majestic intelligent creatures. The complimentary elephant ride from our room to the restaurant was so delightful. Bathing the elephants, swimming with them, feeding them was such a dream come true. I am truly humbled by their presence and gentle nature. The baby elephants are so cute and playful. It felt like we were staying at Jurassic Park with Elephants, the park layout is so well planned and beautiful. The rooms are excellent with incredible views of the park. Please note that this park treat the elephants humanely with integrity and caring. Disregard the negative reviews from uneducated guests, any questions you have the staff are there to help you understand the terrible circumstances from which these animals came from. Please support this fantastic sanctuary as CoVid has affected their ability to expand and grow. A special thanks to Brad, Ketut and Lenny for their extra special care and hospitality, it was an absolute pleasure being under your care!!…
If you love animals or elephants do not visit. They abuse the animals with bull hooks this is not a sanctuary and should be closed down. Really sad to see the poor elephants in the state and so many believe its to help them
The hotel pickup shuttle was great and on-time. We were one of the first to arrive. Upon arrival, and pretty much consistent with the rest of the day, it wasn't always clear where we should be going throughout the visit. Bathing the elephants was fun. We did not sign up for the package to ride the elephants, and we personally didn't feel comfortable doing that. Nonetheless, for the "swimming," we didn't realize that we are indeed standing on the elephants backs while they are submerged in the water. Animal treatment at this excursion has already raised some intense discussion on the forums; I'll simply say, I think it's a multifaceted issue, and you'd have to speak to someone who experienced it for context. Showers prior to breakfast was great. Food was good. Feeding the elephants was fun. It wasn't clear to us until later, but we were essentially just waiting around for another handful of people who were later than us (but who were going to the river rafting excursion next with us) to finish up, before they would transport us to the rafting. The lunch buffet at the rafting was tasty. The rafting was fun, lots of downhill (and uphill) walking.…
