Just great: very nice terrace for e.g. breakfeast and dinner; wonderful view and pool, sustainable approach (e.g. refilling tubes for shower gel), self-baked cokies in the room, large, tidy and stylish, very friendly and high-competent staff; e.g. ibu Feby organized an unforgetable day trip for us. You find many, many advantages in detail. Finally, value for money is just great there, perhaps by nature, much better than in large international hotels. You really get the country feeling without beeing isolated from the local environment as this is often the case in such large resorts. And simultaneously, you do not miss anything.
Two words which can describe the stay at Komaneka Bisma are sterling and first rate . We reached there after almost 12 hours of travel and they had me right from the welcome drink. The ginger infused pineapple drink was so refreshing that it washed away all the tiredness. The view from lobby was breathtaking. The staff was helpful and friendly. They went all the way to make this a memorable stay. We were 2 vegetarians in the group and the chef even attempted to make aloo parantha for us.Kudos to the chef. We had booked bisma suite which was spacious and had amazing view of the rice terraces. The infinity pool was a big hit with kids. Highly recommended!!
My family of 6 is leaving today and wanted to thank the wonderful family at Komaneka for a perfect stay. We reserved 3 Bisma Suites. The beds were very comfortable, AC worked perfectly, bathroom very big with walk in closet and balcony had beautiful view of jungle. The pool was gorgeous and Olympic size length, the food was very tasty. Included breakfast was great but you may need to order double if you are a big eater. Special thanks to Dewa and Febi for making our stay so great. Sad to leave, but hopefully will return one day from the States again!
I’m a guest here and lost my phone in a Gojek car coming back from dinner. Ngurah Widnyana was patient and helped me locate my phone. He tracked my phone down with his personal phone and immediately took me to the location where my phone was. He was very honest, reliable, and efficient. I would come back to this hotel just because of Ngurah Widnyana. You guys have the best staff here, thanks to him!
I have rated Komaneka at Bisma 1 extra star mainly for the service we received. We were a family of 10, 4 kids and 6 adults and stayed there for 2 nights. The staff were so kind. We had booked 4 rooms, 1 of which had an odd smell. We asked for a room change and they kindly agreed to change the room for us. Every time we pass by any staff they will greet us so kindly and we feel very very welcome :) Food wise, the bf buffet is decent. The choice is limited but enough. They have afternoon tea included as well which has an interesting menu. We had lunch there the day we checked in. Everything was nice, however we ordered a lot of desserts, a lot of sorbets. I think they were running out do the sorbet/ice-creams served with the cheesecake, etc and by itself too felt more like less than half a serving. The infinity pool looks really beautiful and the small walk to the river is nice too. There is a small gym and exercise area overlooking the pool and forest too. Me and my husband had been to Komaneka at Bisma about 12 years ago, I think it was brand new then. So this time I felt the property needed some renovation and upgrade. They used to have a shuttle service that ran every 20-30 mins to city centre last time but it has been stopped now. Its a 10 minute walk to the city centre from Bisma, so not that bad but the shuttle was convenient to take when it was really hot. Overall, we really liked our stay and look forward to returning but pls upgrade the property, it is a sure 5* then ❤️…
Beautiful peaceful location. Jalan Bisma is just off the main busy part of Ubud but only 5 or 10 minutes walk away. Plenty of good restaurants bars and cafes within walking distance. The staff and facilities were lovely. I'd definitely recommend.
We booked two Bisma suites for 4 adults + 1 infant (later added 1 extra bed in each suite, as we became a party of 6 + infant later). We really enjoyed our stay at Komaneka at Bisma. Location: Really good with 10 minute walk to Ubud city center (which has lot of cafes & restaurants), Ubud street art market, Saraswati temple, Ubud palace etc. Lot of affordable spas within 2-5 min walk from hotel and a good number of mini marts Room: Rooms were huge with a double bed, sofa, working table and a HUGE bathroom with shower space, bathtub, double vanity, toilet, closet. We were on the 4th floor in connecting rooms (via balcony) and had an amazing view of the pool and mini rice terrace behind the hotel. The balcony is huge and has a table with candles for having food, a sofa etc. and makes for a really good time in evening and night. Facilities & staff: The swimming pool is amazing and feels like an infinity pool going into the forest. They actually have a second swimming pool with lesser depth (unfortunately no kids swimming pool). The gym room is good. Room facilities and staff was also very accommodative and helped us with all needs very quickly. The bed was comfortable, though I would really liked harder mattresses and harder pillows. Food: This is where I didn't really enjoy. There are very limited options for lunch/dinner and the menu is heavily meat-friendly (very limited options for vegetarians). Also, the breakfast is not buffet style, they make things a-la-carte basis a menu. It included things like fruit platter, Nasi Goreng, Mi Goreng, Avocado toast, Omelette, Croissant, Bread toast with jam/butter, Coffee/tea, Fresh juices, Smoothie, waffle, pancakes, french toast. It takes a lot of time to get things to the table even when there were just 3-4 groups staying. I can't imagine what would happen if 10-15 groups come at the same time post-pandemic. On the other hand, the hotel was sweet enough to take our a-la-carte order for our early morning flight and packed it neatly as per our preference. And some seats in the restaurant have an amazing view of the forest and swimming pool - which make for an amazing sight while having breakfast. Things to do: The hotel doesn't have lot of things to do inside except maybe the gym and pool. There is a good small walkway behind the pool area, which felt very foresty and rustic, but we could go around in 10 minutes tops. Hence, we spent most of our time outside the hotel than inside. Value for money: For it's location and room size, the hotel was a good choice, especially since we got a good deal for a non-refunable (with bf) option. My only pet peeve was that later we had to add one extra person to two of our rooms and they charge IDR 750K per night per extra bed (including breakfast). So for two nights, this cost us IDR 3 million. This was more than the cost of one extra room for two adults for 2 nights - hence, I would have been better off booking 3 suites instead of 2. They should really re-consider this extra bed cost.…
We got walk in rates for this hotel and from the moment we walked it till we left the next day we were treated like royalty. The staff were so beautiful and attentive . The room was amazing, we had the Bisma suite on the top floor and the views of the jungle was amazing. A beautiful balcony to sit on and enjoy the scenery. There was an apple TV in the room which was fantastic as we could choose some different movies to watch. The bed was super comfortable . Breakfast the next morning we had brought to the room for no extra cost and sat out on the balcony. Was a fantastic stay and wished we had stayed longer. Will definitely be back.
Great service provided by this hotel, friendly staffs who give their best effort to serve and help you. The owners are so nice and humble to the guests. They set a high standard for the hotel and its staffs. It's only 25-30 mins walk to the Ubud Market and 15-20 mins walk to the entrance of Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Miss the place already. Will come back again for sure. I had a chance staying in another Komaneka hotel which is Komaneka Monkey Forest and also had a nice experience. Kudos to the owners and also the staffs.
The road leading to the resort is small, but once you are at the resort, there are plenty of places for nice photoshoots. Stayed at a 2 bedroom villa, very spacious. Only hope that the 2nd bedroom toilet is not open air as it is in Ubud, where insects and wild life could enter. The resort is a little old and need some face lift. The reservation staff was not too helpful while making the reservation. It took them 2 working days to reply! My worst nightmare was the WIFI, it was so weak that I had to WFM at a restaurant. Breakfast selection is good and delicious. Well done room service. I am most impressed by resort staff, they are very friendly, helpful and efficient, any requests and inquiries were answered quickly.
