This is a stunning resort, located on a beautiful beach. Our room which was actually a suite with a balcony( smoking allowed) (168) faced the back of the hotel with beautiful, well manicured gardens and featured lovely fountains. The staff are lovely, genuine people who...More
Although I have been going to Bali since 1983, this was my first time staying at this hotel.

You don't need to take your own towel as long as you're ok to collect & take back to the beach hut each day. The resort will give you cards equal to the number of people in your room and you can use these to "borrow" towels for the beach or pool each day.
Regarding transport - the airport is super busy - I'd contact the resort directly and advise you've got a booking and would like pick up service. They'll either let you know the cost or if it's complimentary. Then all you need to do is look for your name as you walk out of immigration / customs and they'll take care of the rest. This is also a great way to find a driver whilst you're staying in Sanur. You can ask them how much for a day trip to Ubud (they go with you & stay all day and often act as a bit of a tour guide as well). Be careful though - resort rates for drivers & cars can be up to twice as much as if you negotiate out on the street.
There are plenty of taxi's or even private cars that you can get prices from for trips - both short & long and it's usually very affordable - I wouldn't public bus it in Bali - the roads aren't great and a private car gives a lot more safety IMO.
The resort shuttle takes you to a few local areas - down to Harvey's on the main strip (department / grocery store - great for room snacks etc.. and junky souvenir's). But not many other places - they'll have a map in the room as well as timetable for you.
FYI - the private cars from concierge are expensive at this resort - but the tour desk is great and can help you with tickets or bookings to lots of places so check them out. It's so much easier having a purchased ticket before you turn up rather than having to line up when you get there (eg: Bali Safari / Waterbom / boat trips etc...).
Also, check out Massimo in Sanur - delicious Italian food and great service. You may need to book as it's super popular but well worth it if you're after a break from the Nasi Goreng 😊.
Enjoy your holiday - it's great in Sanur!
