We stayed at Sativa cottages on the last leg of our trip around Bali and it was definitely the most peaceful of all the places we went. The room was very good, the air-conditioning was quiet, the fridge was set in the cupboard so we were not bothered by any noises when we were sleeping.
The pool is great, with spectacular gardens and there's a lovely dining area. Breakfast has varied choices of food , which were delicious . The staff were wonderful.
After staying in a few places where the music thumped through the walls of our room, this place was a real haven.
I would definitely stay here again, it was great value for money.
And Sanur was a great beach. The cottages are not set on the beach front, but only a little walk away.

This hotel is good for long term stays on a budget. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately during our stay they were renovating the swim up pool bar so there was no bar available. I think because of this there wasn’t much socialising at the hotel so no holiday vibe. The pool was very warm and not refreshing at all. Rooms are very basic but had good air conditioning. We had a ground floor pool access room. The shower is over a deep bath, luckily it was not slippery. The grounds are well maintained and while there was a lot of mozzies they did spray the grounds the day before left. Yes the room was tired but many hotels, especially locally owned, are still recovering from lack of income during Covid and are just starting to update facilities. These are the people that need the support.
In saying this, you get what you pay for and for the price I think it was fair. I wish them well and hope they will continue to flourish now that tourists are back in Bali.

Perfect little hotel. Not too far from the beach where you can rent a chair for 10 000 rupiah (cash only) if you don’t want to use their pool that is. Good break fast, not too big but sufficient. Staff is amazing and their driver is awesome! Not only drivers but amazing guides!
This place makes you feel welcome and at home. Stayed here in November 2022 (missed to review but better late than never…) and hope to come back here soon

On the plus side this hotel is in a great location with a lovely pool. With a true Balinese feel.
On the negative side no bottle water supplied.
The rooms are dark and dismal with the pool access room you have to climb thru the door to enter. Shower you have to climb into a ugly bath with a hand held shower head that doesn't sit right and sprays across the bath. Breakfast consist of bacon one day sausages the next, always rice and noodle. There are pancakes available that are made one at a time next to the egg station. Fruit and salad consisting of lettuce cucumber and tomato. A few pasties sometimes. Overall breakfast is nothing to get excited. The reception staff was so arguments and defensive not a pleasant experience.

We looked online in Sanur for a more balinese feel resort.
Sativa Cottages was a great find. Balinese style rooms with thatched roofing large pool with swim up bar also had small pool for toddlers which our 1yr old loved.
Beautiful gardens surround the pool. Plenty of chairs to kick back and relax.
Breakfast was pretty good. Also enjoyed a few eats by the pool not expensive.
We used the bike hire and rode bikes along the beach esplanade which i recommand.
Great massage place across the street.
Market and cash exhange also at end of drive way. Plenty of restaurants in every direction.

Resort is a little bit out dated but adds to the charm cant complain about the price.
Pool tiles needs some attention and some slippery stairs entering pool.
Our AC in the room looked dirty likely due for a clean.
We enjoyed out stay and would come back for sure!

Good location in heart of Sanur and about 6-7 mins walk along the street to the beach. Plenty of restaurants around. Rooms are ok. . Balcony overlooking pool very nice. The pool is lovely and clean. Staff are excellent. Breakfast was basic but fine for 75k paid (July 23). We didn't eat at the restaurant but other guests said it was good.
The not so good - Bathroom old and a bit smelly and needs a good scrubbing. Shower is over a massive bathtub and anyone who is slightly less able could have difficulty getting in and out. The bath tub is slippery as well.
The room is fine but it was dark and gloomy and not a pleasant place to 'be' though the balcony overlooking the pool area is lovely. Sun loungers were old & not enough of them plus definitely need many more sun umbrellas for shade.
It felt overpriced for the standard of room, limited sun loungers and lack of shade or sun umbrellas. There really should be 1 umbrella for every 2 loungers.

We moved to Sativa Sanur after a one night stay elsewhere. We managed to get a twin room on the ground floor, with a walk-in shower (room 102). The room was large, clean and had a nice patio. Beds were comfortable too. Sadly no safe, but there are lock boxes available at reception. The hotel has a spa, lovely gardens and an amazing pool. Very child friendly and guests from all over the world. Buffet breakfast in their restaurant was good but we didn't see many guests eating there at night. Helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble. We were moved to another room when our air con failed. Sativa Sanur is excellent value, close to the main road but still quiet. Needs lights on the drive as it's pitch black to walk there at night. 10 minutes drive from the heart of Sanur with lots of great places to eat within 5 mins walk of the hotel. It also has a mini mart at the end of the drive. Would I go back? Definitely.

Second time we have stayed here and we were very pleased we did. Breakfast is basic, but very fresh and really all you need. From continental to a good fry up. Rooms are a little dated, but extremely large, with the ground floor villas having a massive balcony. Cleaned daily with the option of fresh linen. Large, well kept pool, (with pool towels) and grounds. As with all Balinese resorts, very friendly staff. Location is unbeatable for beach, restaurants and bars, but remaining very quiet in the resort.
We have stopped in many places in Bali and this would rate one of the best. Booked again for April.

This was a great find on our Indonesia trip. It was hard to book hotels near Christmas Eve, but this hotel saved our lives, and it was great! Book it on time, and you will have an amazing time!

The hotel had great service thanks to all the staff, great food, and many options for breakfast. We didn't try dinner or lunch, but the menu seems nice, and they had live music too at night. In general, all the amenities were great; they have a great gym and nice pool areas. The location is not great, but it is near a harbor. That said, near the harbor, you can find amazing restaurants, a great cafe, an amazing Muslim lamb local food place, and also other busy local restaurants that serve a fish local dish. They have great hotel taxi services, but Grab will also work fine. They also have a great spa; we had an amazing massage there.

It is very quiet because it is just back from the main street. It was a cozy-sized hotel, so it was comfortable without the need for poolside space. The room was kept clean and the staff was kind and comfortable, although the room was somewhat dilapidated.
If you go out on the main street, there is a supermarket next to it, and there are restaurants and cafes that are very convenient.

Room Tip: 食事はあまり期待しないように。朝食は簡素なもので、トーストにジャム、バター果物少々といった感じ。ルームサービスも外のレストランと比較すれば安いと思います。ただし、お味もそこそこ。

Don't hold your breath . . . I can't remember a single instance when the pool bar was up and running. I stayed at the Sativa for a few days on each of two separate visits; December 2015 and January 2016. The town of Sanur is not all that spread out, if you rent a bicycle you can easily access most everything.
