We booked a room with a fan (no air-conditioning). The room was in a lovely setting, with a balcony overlooking the central garden. It just about passed for clean. Toilet roll available on request from reception. Cold shower (obviously). No towel or soap provided, so bring your own. The pool is big enough for a dip, although if more than a few people get in it will be over crowded. It's still a nice alternative to the beach as less hawkers! Quiet enough location with barely any noise heard with the balcony door open all night. Breakfast is as expected. Limited choice but sufficient. Drinks are tea, coffee or orange squash (from powder). I bought some coffee sachets from a local store (5 for around Rp 10,000) and just asked for hot water for a nicer coffee each morning. WiFi is good at times and beyond slow at others. Close location to bars, restaurants, tour agencies, local stores and post office (opposite). Overall good place for the price.

No welcome when I arrived, just a tired scruffy guy with his t shirt over his head. Booked a superior room on booking.com, but when I arrived I was asked what room I want. Clearly I have booked superior room. When I was showed to the stairs immediately I knew I was not getting superior room. We had to find the room ourselves. The room was two floors up and it was superiorly below average and did not look anything like the photos for the room I had booked. Forgetting to mention my special request for ground floor room due to broken foot my extraordinary below average room was two floors up!! Once I asked if I could get the room I had booked they said no, and again requested ground floor they said no. Even when I asked for hot water and towels I was told I must pay extra for them regardless of no receiving what I had already booked and paid for. Disgusting service! Once I told them I was not happy and unless I received what I had booked they took the keys out of my hands and left me to it. Disgusting behaviour and service and I advise everyone that reads this to book at your own risk of disappointment. Unless of course you have no standards and just want to be close to beach to surf I urge you to book elsewhere. Urgently advise the manager or owner to sack all his staff and employ professional hoteliers. Your business is not going to survive otherwise. Exceptionally unprofessional and rude staff.

Keeping the cheap price in mind, this place is good value for money - you’re not going to get 5 star for ten bucks. Close to the action, ok breakfast, nice pool to hang out and good people. Basic rooms are cheapest with a range of standards as the modest price increases. I’m happy to head straight here when I land.

The room was the most disgusting space we ever stayed in. As soon as we walked in the stench of mould was unbearable, there was a fan but it was covered in black mould and so was the bathroom. Check out videos on YouTube for a closer look in 4K and 360°for all the horrible little things at seewhatwesee 360. There was blood and urine on the walls. Pillows and duvet were nearly black under the covers which were also stained. The breakfast was basic, not much choice. We didn’t even sleep there in the end just used it to store our bags.
